Oh yea! $170 is definitely worth it for the bigger room, bigger bathroom, walk-in closet and bigger balcony.
-
We used to enjoy the JR Suites with bathtub and walk-in closet on Oasis class. Then we were “shown” the benefits of Sky and Star Class with Coastal Kitchen all day access and the SL, we have not looked back since. [emoji1]Definitely first world problem.

Have only done Suite Class on Oasis class ship. My wife prefers Star Class with the added amenities and the service of the Genie. In particular, embarkation and disembarkation is wonderful; we can get from our suite to curb side in about 15 minutes. Having front row seats and not worrying about reservations to the show or getting there ahead of time, is a time saver. The “true” all inclusive-ness of the cruise is worry free.
Bottom line, the service in Sky and Star Class Suites is outstanding. Yes, these classes cost more, but they make your vacation more enjoyable and thus a good value for your money if you can afford them.

Let me elaborate why we don’t eat in MDR anymore. We used to eat at the MDR and we had many good memories and met some good friends. Two years ago, we sailed on Anthem for Thanksgiving (we usually sail during the holidays) we had reservations for Thanksgiving dinner in the MDR. First, we had to wait 45 minutes to be seated. Then, our main course was cold and the server never came back after dropping off the food. We have not eaten in MDR since (8 cruises on). I’m on vacation when I’m cruising, I want to enjoy my dining experience and I’m willing to pay for the Specialty Restaurants because their food and service is that much better!

First, when you checked in online, arrival & departure information, the site ask you if you are consecutive passenger.
Tell your room steward when you first meet him during your first week. He will ask is you are staying in same room or changing room.
Consecutive cruisers meet at a designated area on the morning of disembarkation and are escorted off the ship. You wait in an area and are given your new SeaPass card. Then an Immigration Officer will come by (you don’t need to do anything, I think they just do a head count) and you are escorted back onboard.
Once onboard, you will be served a special lunch, usually in one of the Specialty restaurants.
You have to leave the ship briefly because Immigration needs the ship to have “zero passenger” count to complete disembarkation.

Always inform your waiter that you have a show and tell him/her what time the show starts.
-
We have never finished a Chef’s Table dinner in less than 3 hrs. Often, the group stay behind after dinner to chat and drink some more.
-
We haven’t set foot in MDR since Anthem in Nov 2015, that was 8 cruises ago, and we probably never will again.

We have been in OS and L1, although the OS is bigger, we prefer the Loft Suite because of location, privacy of deck 17, easy access to Suite Lounge and Coastal Kitchen, better view from balcony and it has 2 full bathrooms!

There are only 3 Star Class Loft Suites on the Harmony. These are 1722, 1724 and 1744. 1722 & 1724 were called Sky Lofts but will become Star Lofts. 1744 is the Royal Loft Suite.
1722 has an ocean view balcony. 1724 has rear view with side ocean view. Personally, I prefer the quiet and privacy of 1722.

Don’t worry about anything! Just tell your Genie which restaurant you want to eat, when and time. You can eat anything you want including the surcharge items (they are all included), even Chef’s Table. You can reserve any show you want and you will have “front row” seats. The Genie will arrange a bridge tour for you on a sea day.
Unfortunately, the OTW cabanas were damaged during hurricane Irma and they might not be repaired by then. But the hill top cabanas are available and your Genie will be able to get you one.

The gift amenities I was talking about are different than the C&A benefits you mentioned. RCI has different amenitie or bonus gifts based on the number of cruise days one has. The levels are: 175 cruise day (one bonus gift); 350 cruise days (two bonus gifts); and 525 cruise days (three bonus gifts).
I will let you know when I hit 175 during Thanksgiving and my wife will hit 175 during Christmas.
-
So, my wife and I are probably not linked as we do get more than one bottle of wine/champagne per cruise.
-
There will be:
“Meet Santa” for the kids and they will get a gift.
Christmas Parade on the Promenade.
Carol singing on the Promenade.
-
My wife and I do seemed to get our own benefits on our SeaPass card. We each get a free picture. We each get our own C&A discounts. We started sailing together before we were married.
So, maybe our accounts are not linked.
-
That is interesting because they don't typically give out more than 1 to a household and they use the highest total in the household.

My wife & I each have our own C&A point status; she has 10 points less than me.

We got our blocks on the Harmony during our B2B cruise in July. I got mine the first week and my wife got hers the second week. Both blocks were delivered to our cabin on the night we hit 140 points.
-
Is there a thread where people can trade blocks?? I have 3 extra Oasis blocks and one Ovation - we are looking for Explorer, Harmony, Independence, Navigator, Quantum, Majesty, Voyager, Enchantment and Empress. Anybody interested in a trade????
I can trade a Harmony block for an Oasis block.

We were in 1718 in April, it a great suite, quiet and with ocean view. I think the Loft layout is better than 1720. We posted a video on YouTube on this suite, just search Oasis 1718.
-
Excellent! We will be on oasis sls 1718 and it will be our first star class cruise. I was wondering what to ask of our genie besides the dining/show reservations. We will be hopefully getting an over the water cabana too. Anyone request anything that made their cruise special? We won't be having any parties as it's the three of us, but I think dining al fresco one night may be nice.
Sorry to tell you, but the over water cabana on Bearfoot beach were all damaged by Irma, they may not be rebuilt by then.

Has anyone had their genie set up private flowrider time. 10 cruises down and I'm always afraid to go because someone will see me making a fool of myself!
Yes, once you get the email from your Genie, you can make your requests to him/her.

There are some balcony cabins under the overhang on deck 14, which means you will only see sun in the early morning or late in the afternoon.

Just came off Harmony in July, no flax seed in Vitality Spa.

Allure - Suite Guarantee vs Current Booking (Ocean view balcony)
in Royal Caribbean International

There is a current promotion that if you book any Sea or Sky Class suites, i.e. JR Suite, the gratuities are included.
Since you are upgrading, you are essentially re-booking and you should qualify for this offer.
