I think mattresses are like food...subjective. My DH says the mattress hurts his back. I, on the other hand, have never been uncomfortable (9 cruises, 6 different ships). I lie down, go to sleep and don't wake up till morning.:D

Your biggest problem is fog. Watch port web cam it is live if ship is not at dock by severn you will have back arrival time up.

Videos shot with a Sony CDR HD 210. Very small fits in palm of your hand. The models sold today are the same size do every thing this one does. But different model numbers buy one that has steady shot and buy 32meg SD cards for it. There some tricks to making movies. Contact me you want though You Tube channel.

Average age on our cruise was past 55. So no one was up there for late night activity. CD every night at show would ask who was going to join him at SW and three hands would go up. Is outstanding location. I would turn it into extra frae dinning area. Hibachi would work. Would have use electric grills.

The build it and they will come stragity did not work. So they went to plan B pay to have ships dock. Numbers mentioned were 5 mil of six years NCL and $650,000 per year PCL. Know PCL will be back next year. Now no room at Galveston. Carnival will have three ships and RCL one. Only two terminals. Now Carnaval may make swap with ship since they own both.

We had great time on our Princess cruise Dec 7 2014. Bayport is a very nice convient terminal for me. Houma, La.

Looking at a Google map, the Baytown port is much further north and such a narrow waterway. How much more time does that add to getting out into the Gulf?

Emerald Princess is a long side at Bayport Terminal Houston Tx. The fog is so bad you cannot see on web cam. Ship is shown on vessel finder at the dock. Galveston web cam operator confirm she did not make it out. Saw her at dock at 6:30 PM CST. At least they will not hsve to watch oil refineries all night cannot see them.

This will take Roatan out of cruise.

It is amazing how many people do not understand you tube. I run channel 4000 subscribers and past 830000 views mostly about model trains. Most think its all about cute cat videos. Its education process. I found out how to change cabin air filter on Honda by watching a you tube video. Saved 30 dollars labor charge from dealer.

Will let you know. Did standard Balcony have had larger staterooms on Emerald and DCL ships. We just fell we did not need all the space on last Emerald cruise and had visited a startard Balconey on the cruise.

If you go to Google Maps and go to Satellite View the current view of the port shows the Royal and another princess ship in at same time, Oasis or Allure and four other ships at the docks. This is a great way to find out were you are going. and how to drive to right dock parking if you are driving to port.

We are going on the Royal on Nov 9, 2015 and had to make hotel reservation for the night before good way to look were hotels are located. Was able to save 40 on room cost as a Hamptons Inn 2 miles further away was a lot cheaper and had very good reviews

This picture is not current or real time but the last view that was posted. There is a way to find date but that is not import to you. Also shows road construction at other end were RCL ships dock.

While researching this online, some places it is mentioned that the ice cream bar located next to the pizza place is free, while other places online it says the pizza is free but the ice cream extra. So, which is it?

 

I'm guessing free ice cream is available as a dessert option in the MDR. Anywhere else on the ship? Years ago on my first Princess cruise, going for ice cream was somewhat of a secret. I can't remember time or location but it was like between 3 & 4 at such and such location. I don't even think it was advertised in the Princess Patter. I heard about it here on CC!

If you get the soft serve on lido deck it is free. As other have explained you will have to pay for some other ice cream items. Did not pay for it in MDR ordered a desert one night. We did drink plus card. Soft Drinks, Mock Cocktails and Malts are included all you can drink. Was 58 per person all seven days. We got moneys worth. We have been on a few Carnival cruises and have the Oasis of the Seas booked for this summer. We decided we want to do a spring break cruise as well. Trying to keep it cheap since most of our budget is going to our summer cruise, we have narrowed it down to another Carnival cruise or this. Is the Caribbean Princess a good representation of Princess? We've been to Grand Cayman before, but I wasn't feeling well and stayed on the ship. We've never been to Roatan or Princess Cay. Their isn't much of a price difference, especially considering we get a $100 on board credit with this cruise. The Carnival cruises we are looking at are a 6 day Carnival Breeze (been wanting to try that ship, but the itinerary isn't as nice), or the Carnival Paradise 5 day (love this little ship and it's closer to home) for $184 less (plus $30 on board credit), but it's only 5 days and we have done this cruise before...it's just so convenient to home and we like the ports.

These are all seven days on the Emerald Princess a sister ship of the Caribbean will be almost the exact same ship. I would highly recommend Princess cruise we really had a great time. You can skip video 1 and 2 unless you just want to watch. We bought the beach package deal $48 for two people well worth the price.

Have the beds been updated on the Emerald (new mattress, duvets, etc). Looks like the same old bed spreads? Thanks for the menus and patters! Love your review!

Bed in the videos a couple of times. Know on Arrival and Sailaway for sure.

What deck was your cabin on, overlooking the balconies below? We have a 14th (Riviera) deck balcony reserved and I was wondering if it will have the overhang or if others will be able to look down on us. (We are on the Crown though.)

I posted a link to my videos on Emerald Princess a sister ship of the Crown above. My mini suite was on Emerald Deck 9. Staterooms are futerest out, 10 is next then 11 up are all the same. Our stateroom and baloncy was great really no problem with people looking down.

Many for some reason think other people are watching them. Sorry to tell you they are not and 99 pecent of the time do not know you are there. Go have a great cruise and do not worry about the other person they are not worried about you.

I saw the first formal night does not have lobster or escargot on the menu, will they second formal night have it?

They had those item on second formal night. Not something we did but many really liked crab shack, done at least twice in café Caribe. Lots of good seafood. Watch the pattern. Do not miss the Crown Grill. Was outstanding.

Can you please tell me what nights were the formal nights on the cruise.

Formal Nights were Monday Night Day 2, and Friday Night Day 6 Cozumel.

This is video I did of arrival and sailaway on Dec 7, 2014. I am driving but once you get to terminal then it applies to all. Hope this answers some of the 1000s of questions I have seen. In the first 7 cruises only the first one has had big trouble with weather at Bayport. Our cruise was on time going and returning. EP was on time today Dec 21, 2014. I will say have gone out of Galveston and Port Canerval and Bayport was all around the easiest. I do understand that the International Airport is not that close.

First time Princess Cruiser and we will be back, bough future cruise credits.

Best way I can say it was great. Bough future cruise credits.

Ship on time, no weather problems, port was easy to get to, easy to get on and off. Parked 50 ft from door.

Great Food, Great People, Good Entertaiment, Great Service.

Do not miss a meal in the Crown Grill.

I videoed the whole departure from start to lunch. I will edit it and post on You Tube and place link in this and other threads.

I have a lot of other video I will post in separate videos so people can pick and choose what they want to watch.
