  1. We are looking to book a cruise on the liberty or carnival breeze out of Galveston. Carnival says the drink package can't be used on cruise from Texas. Until the second day because of regulations. Is this true on the liberty, i've never heard anyone complain about this before on the boards.

Any info would be helpful, thanks

It is my understanding that due to Texas regulations "some" items from the bar will not be avail until the ship is out of Texan waters. So you can still use your package....just a limited selection. I'll find out those limits for the LOS in October [emoji6]

  2. I normally get a confirmation email when I redeem points.

Another option is to ask whoever booked your cruise for Royal's Guest Copy of your booking confirmation. This will also show the Visa points OBC.

We have also redeemed points for OBC.... Our first time doing this.... My question, is this refundable or non-refundable OBC? Also, is there a way to use OBC for "extra" tips for room steward or concierge?

Would love to know how much I have to spend from day one [emoji4]

  3. I've never had any complaints about RCL bedding, is Liberty different from the rest?

I think bedding is very subjective....we have had a tempurpedic mattress for about 5 years now so we tend to find most beds hard when we travel.

I have read a lot of others commenting on the firmness of the beds though. So I'm not alone. We sailed NCL Pride of America 2 years ago and the bed was very comfortable. I was quite surprised.

  4. Good idea! Do you get the king or queen?

It's a shame their beds are so hard. Last year my parents had a hard time because there were no foam toppers avail....so I decided to do it myself.

I bought king size. Ships beds are an odd size. I just pack round tip "school" scissors to cut it to size.

As soon as I got it I stuffed it into a large duffle bag and put it in the closet. All I have to do is attach a luggage tag. At the end of the cruise they can do what they want with it.

Make sure you buy regular foam...not memory foam. The memory foam is more expensive and has a terrible odor to it that takes about a week of airing out to disappear.

  5. We have the Oct 2 sailing - I've been on this itinerary before and it's my very favorite so far. Excited to just enjoy this cruise going to some of my favorite spots again - Grand Cayman is a dream  Enjoy your cruise!

Enjoy your cruise too! This is also out favorite itinerary...helps that it's only an hour by car to the port. Congratulations on your upcoming wedding!

Our October 16th cruise will be slightly different than that

Day 2 - Monday, at sea

    Day 3 - Tuesday, Cozumel

Day 4 - Wednesday, Grand Cayman

    Day 5 - Thursday, Falmouth

Day 6 - Friday, at sea

Day 7 - Saturday, at sea

    Sunday return to Galveston....

I have not been able to locate a cruise compass for this route.
