  1. We have had the drinks package with FO and found it superb value for money at £10 a day. It helped us to save on soft drinks throughout the day, alcohol and even meant the wine with our evening meal was free :)

FO state that everyone in the cabin must have all inclusive if it is taken up i suppose to save one person just getting everyone else in the party a drink; therefore, depending upon the price that P&O offer it at could be expensive or offer good value should they follow the same policy.

  2. We've just got back from out cruise on the Aurora and on display was what all the ships will look like when they have had their 'paint job'. For those not aware all ships will sport a blue coloured funnel whilst the bow of the ship shall have a union jack painted on.

Now i'm 21 and consider myself modern however do people not think that P&O will become less recognisable with the loss of the gold funnel? To me that is a symbol of p&o and I also feel that the change in design will take away the classic cruise look and turn them into looking like mickey mouse ships.

Anyone able to change my mind or do most agree?

  3. Danny Feelgood is quality!!!

Im 21 and found there was lots to keep me entertained but it depends on what you like

    - Always chance to meet new people as its very sociable onboard

    - Plenty of space for sunbeds

    - Late night bars and one club

    - Pools

    - Evening Entertainment

    - Sailaway Parties

    - Themed Parties (Tropical and British)

    - Casino

    Would thoroughly recommend Oceana

  4. At the terminal there is always a selction of snacks available at extra cost however as soon as you board the PLAZA onboard Oceana is open serving lunch from 12pm- 14.30 and then from 1500 onwards serves afternoon tea.

Have a great trip- very jealous as we have just got back off Aurora :(

  5. I was on the Aurora a couple of years ago for a Christmas / new year cruise, we felt it was very good!

    - Gift was received in our cabin

    - Special Christmas Day Gala Dinner

    - Ship decorated to perfection

    - Numerous parties and buffets.

    Regards

  6. Be very careful regarding currency; the currency is sterling however be careful as some change they will give you is in their own Gibraltarian sterling and cant be used in the UK.

Regarding your excursion it will be a lot cheaper than booking the experience via P&O.

    Safe Journey

  7. Good Evening- my first post on here so please hang in there with me :)

I have just come back from a cruise along the Iberia Coast, 9 nights on the Aurora calling into Portugal, Spain and Guernsey. With both Portgual and Spain members of the EU Guernsey was our scheduled port of call allowing as duty free and all the tax offers.

Firstly, before I continue any further I can honestly say I couldn't fall the cruise as we were well looked after and a top time was had!

Unfortunately one of our fellow 'sailors' was taken ill approximately two hours after our departure from Lisbon to Guernsey and as a result we had to turn back for medical assistance. This return back to Lisbon was a decision of the captain I can't fault as the safety of the passengers and crew lays entirely in his hands however, as a result this caused a severe delay in our journey to result in our call into Guernsey being cancelled.

If your still with me here comes the important part!! Because of our failure to be able to stop in Guernsey this resulted in all sales of duty free cigarettes and liquor being stopped and 20% additional VAT added on to shop and photo purchases. Despite this cease of sales all passengers who had previously made their purchases before the decision to abort Guernsey (like myself who bought various items on the second day) were exempt for paying the taxes and VAT on the purchases they had made due to the unforeseen circumstances.

I would recommend that where Guernsey is your only non ECC/ EU port purchase your duty free as soon as you get on board. This recommendation comes not only as a result of the incident that occurred on my cruise but also that Guernsey is a tender port and therefore in rough conditions the ship may be unable to stop thus an introduction to the taxes may occur.

I hope this makes sense- if you haven't understood any at all the short of it is if going to Guernsey buy your duty free ASAP onboard to avoid any possible risks as I am aware many passengers were upset
