  1. I noticed in a previous post you mentioned a visit to Stanley Park. We just did the Big Bus which is also the Big Pink and they have a separate loop trolley at Stanley Park. You can start at several points along the way, called the city loop, we started at the cruise terminal. Get off at stop 9A and catch the Stanley Park Loop which stops for a few minutes at the Totem Poles and several other stop before returning to 9A where you catch the city loop bus. Since its a Ho Ho if you see something you like you can get on and off several times.

Free note if the guide seems to be new and just reading a script I suggest you get off and catch the next one coming by. We had several that were great but one was brand new and must have been a tourist the day before. She had zero local info, only what was in the book.

  2. A special thanks to all the cruise critic members who provided info on your wonderful city. We arrived on Thurs the 13th and took a cab to Pan Pacific hotel, what a wonderful place. We walked Gastown and found a meal at a small eatery the locals seemed to like. Your city was clean the air is fresh and its was delightful to walk around and we felt very safe.

On Friday we received a call our son in law had been severely injured in Florida and we had to return ASAP.

We notified Holland America to cancel cruise along with prepaid items and excursions I think it went smooth as could be expected thank goodness for insurance. We called to cancel return hotels and tours.

Made flight changes for Saturday and spent the day trying to make the best of our time left. The HOHO big red bus was a good distraction.

Sat morning we left early enough to be ahead of cruise passengers but we did have to go look at the ship once before we departed. Going thru the check points was quick and easy since no one was there. Returned to Fla at 2 AM ready for a nap. Thanks again to the great cruise critic folks. WE WILL BE BACK!!!!

  3. CruisinJul... we just returned from a stay at Rocky Point Holiday Inn and the breakfast was not bad. Granted its not a Cracker Barrell but they had fresh fruit, cereal, pasteries, link sausage and an egg and cheese combo similier to an egg McMuffin. Coffee and juice were both fresh.

Be sure to call the hotel prior to arrival and specify which shuttle you want to take. They offer an 11, 12 and 1 run. The 11 fills up fast and no one told us about it until we arrived. Lucky for us one of our fellow travellers had called to request a room change and booked all 6 of us. They will handle 10 people per run.

If you arrive in the evening a walk next door to Bahama Breeze will get your vacation to an early start.

You will have a great time.... happy cruisin
