  1. This is going to be a very interesting and developing situation to say the least; there is virtually nothing left on many of these Eastern Caribbean islands. Every cruise line (particularly the mainstream lines like NCL, CCL, and RCCL) have to evaluate everything from itinerary changes to possible fleet redeployments, depending on how long it takes to rebuild. To be honest, I'm already wondering what's going to happen to our cruise aboard the Bliss in Jan. 2019.

With all that said, let's please keep these folks in our hearts and minds and help out in any way we can via donations. Many of the islanders have lost everything; homes, livelihoods, everything. Unfortunately they are virtually on their own out there and can use any help we can give them.

  2. Unlikely because it's a show which is priced for the drinks. On the beverage package, you can only get one drink at a time. I doubt they'll keep running back and forth to charge each drink separately on the UBP. They may, however, let you use a meal credit or pay a discounted price if you have SDP, but haven't seen that level of details for Bliss yet.

If it's anything like Wine Lovers: The Musical on the Escape, then you're correct; the UBP will not apply. For Wine Lovers I believe the cost was $15/person, which included your 6 glasses of wine for the tasting along with a multi-course lunch.

  3. I chuckled when he stated that he may sound like an old man because I had been thinking "Gee, this guy sounds like an old man..." I'm not much younger than he is but I'm looking forward to the cars. I plan on trying them out a couple of times on my trans atlantic. And the water slides. Maybe the laser tag, as well. Then maybe a hip replacement.

Lol you're definitely only as old as you feel. [emoji4] For us, my wife and I do tend to prefer the smaller, mid-sized ships (we sailed the Star in 2015 and had a blast). While on the Escape last year, the mega ship style of cruising did seem a bit like cruising on steroids; it's overwhelming if you're not used to it. Unfortunately, that's where cruising is going to nowadays. Unless you can afford the luxury lines, it's become an arms race to see who can build the largest ships with the flashiest gadgets and attractions.

With that said, we are booked on the Bliss for Jan. 5th-12th, 2019 and are really looking forward to it. The shows should be awesome (I'm really looking forward to Jersey Boys and Prohibition), the specialty dining is always exquisite, the Ocean Loop slide looks like a blast, and yes; even the go-karts look like they'll be fun (was unsure about that at first). All in all, the Bliss looks to be a beautiful ship with endless possibilities.

One last thing; you're on a cruise and away from work; enjoy it!! [emoji2] [emoji568]️[emoji907][emoji484]

  4. I did not see last weeks plans was there a o'sheeans ? if that is gone I will be really sad

I just off the Oasis and we really missed the 24 hour restaurant most things on that ship you had to pay extra for after 9 other then nasty pizza lol

According to what was leaked last week, O'Sheehan's is being replaced with another 24-hour pub (I think the name was "Local Spot" or something like that).

  5. I wonder too if that's EXACTLY what they wanted to happen. But of course we will never really know! [emoji849]

I do think the "official" reveal will be a bit anti-climactic, as I really don't think the deck plans will change at all from what we saw last week. And yeah, I agree; I wouldn't be surprised if last week was- shall we say- calculated in order to generate buzz.

There's no such thing as bad publicity, right?

  6. I thought for sure I'd be late to the party, but so far, nothing

Come on NCL, throw me a bone. . . . I missed the festivities last Sunday and I'm dying here.

Lol this is NCL's punishment for those of us who saw the deck plans early last Sunday. (NCL): "You want to see those Bliss deck plans that badly, huh? Now you must wait! (Evil laugh)" [emoji23]

  7. I seem to be the only only booked January 12th, 2019!!! Our 25th wedding anniversary is January 14th, 2019 so this cruise means a lot to me. Super excited and thanks to all of you for your excitement and posts as that adds to my anticipation!!! I got a quick peek at those deck plans and am still looking forward to how NCL chooses to reveal them so I can study them relentlessly till 2019. We booked our first aft-balcony on the 9th deck. I hope my research was correct that those are the biggest balconies!! :)

Hey Rainman, we'll be on the sailing immediately before yours, the Jan. 5th-12th 2019 sailing. We'll keep her in good shape for ya! [emoji2]

  8. It's also possible that the plans we saw earlier are only for European travelers, and those of us booking from the states will get something completely different.

They're not going to redesign the ship; there's only one Bliss.

Seeing as how, while at the Keel Laying Ceremony, Andy Stuart stated that more updates would be coming in August, I'm guessing that these are the actual deck plans that were just released prematurely. For all we know, this could have been scheduled to come out Monday (tomorrow) but the EU site accidentally released them early.

  9. If the deck plans have been taken off of the NCL website, are we sure they are set? I'm afraid to get too excited about seeing them until it's a for sure thing. Although, at this point I would think they have it pretty much lined out since it's under construction.

I'm guessing that the deck plans are pretty well set in stone by now, seeing as how NCL is supposed to take delivery of the Bliss in April, which is only 8 months away. It probably has more to do with the fact that these plans weren't supposed to be released just yet.

  10. Notable differences between BA/GA/ESC and the new BLISS ... and they are great:

    • Le Bistro has moved from windowless Deck 7 to Deck 17 with magnificent views! The sun doesn't set until late when up in Alaska, so the dining experience up there will be great. We hated dining in the Deck 7 Le Bistro on BA/ESC. Entourage and Video Arcade have moved down to Deck 6.
    • Garden Café has moved from Aft to Forward!!! Great. The EPIC has forward Garden Café and we loved it there. Perfect for the Alaskan cruises, especially that there is a new forward Observation Lounge just one deck below.
    • Los Lobos replaced Moderno - it's time for a change. I'm sure there are people who will object to this change, but we need a change ...

I'm one of those that isn't fond of the decision to get rid of Moderno, although I am excited to try Los Lobos. Just a personal preference, but I would rather have NCL replace either Le Bistro or Teppanyaki with Los Lobos if they wanted to change things up.

  11. As does the Breakaway (May 2017) and the Getaway (May 2016). I hope they bring it to the Bliss! As someone else mentioned, it's one of my favorite things to do while on board at night.

Same here, we love Howl at the Moon! Of course, it holds a special memory for me; we were at Howl at the Moon on the Escape the night the Cubs won the World Series (I'm originally from Chicago and a huge Cubs fan). Virtually everyone in the bar went nuts, and we even got that pianists to play "Go Cubs Go"! [emoji2] #FlyTheW

  12. Even if they have sing along piano bar - doubtful it will be a true "Howl at the Moon" since NCL has dropped most of their branded locations of the most recent ships. That being said - we did enjoy the "sing along" entertainment on the Escape in the District Brew House

The Escape has Howl at the Moon, unless they've gotten rid of it since November.
