  1. We will be on the Dream this Sunday and have VIP for one room and FTTF for the other. I see you arrived at 9:30 but what time did boarding actually begin. I will have my elderly in laws with me and trying to go as early as possible (to avoid the crowds) but not so early they are waiting around for too long. I was thinking 11am. I know they should just be happy we are about to begin our great vacation but the happier I can keep them the better my trip is. Thanks for any guidance.

  2. For us the larger room, larger bathroom with whirlpool tub, separate vanity area, and more closet space is wonderful. Plus they are mid ship with cabins above and below so they are very quiet. You do get VIP lounge at boarding but we still get FTTF for its added perks. Once we stayed in a suite we have not stayed in anything else

  3. We have stayed in both and since staying in a suite could not go back. We love the extra room in the bathroom, being midship and the suite has an amazing sitting area for your wife to be to get ready. The suites are so handy for getting around the ship since they are midship. Granted this is all my opinion. Have a great cruise

  4. The bathrooms are bigger, nicer and have a tub in a suite. You also have a sitting area for getting ready in a suite which is really nice when you have one showering and wife trying to get ready. Suites are mid ship and very quiet part of the ship (only rooms above and below). We have sailed in both but once we went to a suite eight cruises ago we would not think of anything else the bathroom and sitting are is worth it for us. Just my opinion.

  5. If you are staying In a suite you get priority boarding. Most ports have a priority lounge. Just show your docs when you arrive so you do not wait in the long lines. They will guide you in the proper direction

  6. We are cruising over thanksgiving and were told there were too many platinum and diamonds therefore no more would be released. But I kept watching, several times a day, and they did release a few. I got ours but have not seen them release anymore. So be vigilant about checking several times a day and hopefully you will get lucky.

  7. Fishy mom I totally agree. That is the reason we started using them several years ago. Our experience with this has only been on the larger ships and like I said we have had great luck. My DD also likes them as much as we do so she can let us know if her plans changed or Camp Carnival is moving to a different location or she needs us without going and looking for a message in the room or searching several spots. Good luck and do what you feel will make you and your family feel the most comfortable. You do not want to be spending your vacation worrying. Have a great cruise!

  8. Another idea with kids is walkie talkies. We have cruised with our DD every year. Once she was old enough to have more freedom coming and going from CC or lido or whatever activity was going on for her age at that time. She and I each carry one. Yes I know she is generally in a loud area and cannot hear it but she has rules that if she is leaving an area she has to radio us and tell us where she is going. That way if she cannot hear us we always know where to go find her. She is 15 now and we have been using this for about five years now. This helped us and her since they do leave CC at that age because when she was 9 and 10 we did not let her sign out but decided the next year we wanted to allow her that new responsibility. But I totally agree with others that take them on a tour of the ship so they know where important areas are located. We plan on using them again this thanksgiving when we go.

  9. When my daughter was that age we did not allow her to leave CC without being signed out by myself or husband. With that she was not allowed to go on the scavenger hunt but YES she was allowed to stay and they had other things planned for the kids who stayed. I totally understand your concerns. Not all parents want to let a 9or 10 yr old loose on the ship. Some parents do and I think it is totally a family decision.
