Hoping someone that has actually used scooter onboard will respond. I can say that on our recent cruise on Explorer - a gentlemen "parked" his scooter at the end of our passageway every night. Never seemed to be an issue.

We were on Explorer Jan-Feb and agree - the best service ever. Give our best to Yuli - from the Robertson's.

Returned from an Australia/SE Asia cruise - Jan 13-Feb 21. Loved the ship. We actually liked the decor better than the Splendor - "more subdued". Perhaps the best service we have experienced. Have another Explorer cruise booked for Sept 2024. Go for it.

Agree with above - on Mariner, Splendor, and Explorer - have never encountered a long line. Will say that we tend to eat early - but showing up at 6:30ish has not been a problem thus far.

Agreeing with papaflamingo. I will have to say that on our most recent cruise - I was served a lobster (in Prime 7) that I could not/would not eat - mentioned it to them and they were very concerned and ready to make it right. Other than that, guess I, and papaflamingo, are just "lucky" in not encountering multiple issues with our steaks. This is not about giving Regent a "free pass" - it just shows that not everyone one is unlucky enough to being unable to find a steak to their liking. I also have never encountered a situation where the staff was unconcerned and/or unwilling to make amends if food is less than "perfect".

To add to the above - we stayed there Feb 21-24 - post-cruise stay. Everything about the hotel was exceptional. Highly recommended.

Tks for response. Scenario is that I will be flying to Rome but coming to Miami on the ship - then flying home. Think we have come up with a solution, but - will definitely check for details.
-
Have an upcoming cruise - Rome to Miami. Will be flying business class to Rome. Currently listed as flying economy from Miami to home. As baggage restrictions stand - there is a distinct difference in allowable weight. Wondering if there i any consideration towards bag weight in this situation. Perhaps I should book my own flight home using points to upgrade.

Late to the party on this one. I just returned from a 30+ day cruise on the Explorer. Plan to provide more of a review later, but - I wanted to jump in and say that the service on this cruise is the best I have ever experienced - on any cruise line. Attitude of all - servers, officers, etc. was excellent.

Am sure some have encountered lines now and then. During the past 4 cruises with Regent - we have not once been turned away or asked to wait. As others have mentioned, lines can form immediately after a ship-wide function but they tend to disperse quickly. Will grant that we tend to eat earlier than some. Perhaps we have just been "lucky" re long lines.

If a venue is not being used by more than 2 or 3 couples.....why waste time/food/labor? That just makes sense and not necessarily 'bean counting.'
Have to admit that miss the pool; grill option in the evening. On our first two Regent cruises it always seemed to me that it was well used for a casual evening meal.

Find it interesting that some are not satisfied with pool Grill. That has always been the go-to spot when coming back from excursions. Things may have changed but I recall that orders were taken at one end of the buffet line and brought to your table. Was never an issue. Will be aboard Explorer in a few weeks so will see if any of this has changed.

Wonder what time you were at Coffee Connection. There is usually someone there most of the days- I believe until around 5 or so. Hope that hasn't changed.

I can’t comment on the Explorer ship but I recently got back to cruising and I was on Splendor in September 2023. You can read my very detailed reports in previous postings if you desire to do so. I have been one of those people who is not afraid to criticize Regent if they don’t meet expectations. Expectations are a personal thing and everyone is different and as GOARMY said, each ship and each cruise is different. For example, the friends we were with had the full big bus experience with included transfers to and from the ship, the hotel and the airport. It was a bit chaotic and not a great experience. We, on the other hand, somehow lucked out and got a private transfer to and from the airport and hotels. I guess we were lucky (twice) but for us it was a great experience. My overall impression of Regent is that it is an excellent product but with room for improvement. Our ship was beautiful and the accommodations were excellent. Here’s where expectations come in, but I felt the dining venue service and/or food was inconsistent, ranging from great to just OK, but mostly very good. I’m sure that people get tired of hearing me complain about Destination Services but they are the Achilles heel for Regent but some people had a great experience with them. Go figure. Different expectations and different experiences. It’s just the life of cruising. Having said all that, I still had a wonderful cruise and I will sail with Regent again if their itinerary is appealing to me but I’m not married to any one cruise line. For example, my next cruise is to the French Polynesia and I considered Regent but decided on Paul Gauguin because I liked their itinerary better and they sail in the month that I wanted to cruise. Go have fun, be flexible and don’t let the little stuff become the big stuff.
You will not regret sailing on Paul Gaguin. One of our most memorable trips!!

Didnt say it was unique. Just responding to others comments. Nice of you to pay attention though.

re wine selection - we have had situations where the server actually went to one of the other dining venues to get the wine we were looking for. Likewise, DW asked for a specific dessert, and again, they tracked it down in one of the other restaurants. On the rare occasion that we have had an "issue" in our suite, just one phone call was all that was needed to fix it. As said many times, Regent is not perfect but for many, including me, it is my go-to cruise line.

The ship is stunning. Compass Rose is very light and airy. The serving stations are around the perimeter so much less dish noise in the dining room. There are etched glass panels over the exterior walls so no real window views. Seating in the theater is more spread out and getting to middle seats is much easier. Lots of light colored wood throughout the ship. The internet is much better. We have an F2 suite.
Tks for the update - we won't be onboard until later in 2025 but hoping it is still WOW! Last sailed with you on the Baltic cruise. We chatted on the bus outside the Vasa Museum. Continue to enjoy your cruise. We will be ailing again in January.

Both are open for breakfast. La Veranda is the main buffet breakfast, and the Pool Grill has the smoothie bar plus other quick and "healthy" bites.
Compass Rose isn't a great option for those with early tours. They're not known for their rapid service.
Room Service breakfast is available using the door hanger the night before.
Coffee Connection also a good alternative.

We will be doing same itinerary on Grandeur in 2025. Will be interested in how your trip goes. Habe been on Splendor twice - both trips were great.

I kept the receipt with pertinent info and stapled it to the white CDC card.

FYI - I recently booked dining for us and another couple (we are Gold). The others are first time Regent. No problem booking them. Just need to add their booking number.

Definitely don't want to miss it. I never paid much attention to the numbered day of cruise it was served. On our last cruise, nearly 30 days - recall having it 3-4 times. I usually check the menu (on suite tv) in the morning and make my dining decision then).

If you are on the Oct 7 trip, we may see you. We will be starting in Vancouver then the second segment, Tokyo-Tokyo. You are correct that dining reservations are down the road a bit. If you are going to use air deviation, that will be 210 days out. Hope to see you then.

Have used WhatsApp and works great. Once you reach silver status (21 days) - you get 1 hour of satellite phone time. That has also worked well for us every time we used it. BTW If your cruise is 21 days or more, your silver status will be effective the first day you embark.
