Here's a Freestyle Daily from our Alaska cruise last August.  On that cruise, they had them by Guest Services and you had to stop by and pick one up.  On our Mexico cruise in December, our steward was leaving them in our room every day.  Happy cruising!

The Free Style Daily is still printed and placed in your room each night. However, they no longer provide information about the ports.

In the past their used to be a little map and some general information that was helpful. So be sure to research the ports before you cruise and hope they don't change the itinerary.

Free Style Daily...thank you!! Couldn't dredge up that name no matter how I tried.   Fortunately, we'll be in Bermuda for the 3rd time, so port info isn't quite so critical, but we like to know where to meet up for certain activities.  Thank you!

  4. Thank you very much to all who replied, lots of useful info here.  I hadn't seen the article and that pretty much sums it up.  Looks like the only thing to do is leave the reliable CDB at home and go back to NSAIDS!

    Thanks again.   🙏

  5. I've recently begun using CBD oil capsules at night for sleep and pain relief and I'm wondering if anyone has info on whether CBD is prohibited on cruise ships or..?   Hesitant to pack it for my upcoming cruise.  Any info appreciated!

I just got off Meraviglia yesterday. The pillows were so great that I'm lying in bed at home googling how to buy some and ran across your thread. We slept like babies.

Oh man, this is really excellent news!   Thanks for posting.  ☺️

  7. Hello all -

Our first cruise was on Divina back in 2014 or 15 - thanks to this message board, we learned ahead of time how terrible the pillows were (like a couple of newspapers in a pillowcase), so we picked up our own at Ross in Miami and were set for our cruise.

We're sailing on Meraviglia on 3/29 and would like to know if MSC has improved their pillow game at all or if we should plan to stop at Ross again?   Thanks in advance.  😁

  8. I got an offer like this about a week after we got off the NA in December.   I had spent a fair bit of time in the casino and won enough to almost clear our final bill (we only owed about $160.00 final bill).   The offer was for certain sailings - interior rooms starting at $0, Oceanview from $99, Veranda from $299, Vista/Signature Suite from $499 and Neptune Suite from $799.

We decided "What the hell!" and booked again for the end of March.

I think the timing is really everything.  We've received similar offers that we couldn't take for one reason or another, this one just came at the right time.

  9.

There is also the Beverage card in denominations of $50, $100, and $250. Those are even money purchases where you buy the card up front, like a smart card, and the price of each drink is deducted from the balance.

Any money left on the card at the end of the cruise is refunded---since you didn't spend all of your own money.

Could you explain how any unused money left on the card is refunded? Do we need to visit guest services the night before disembarkation?

    Thanks in advance. :):)

  10. No BB King on Rotterdam.

    This is disappointing... :(

We like to dance and were hoping to be able to get some time in at BB King's on Rotterdam in April.

Any recent cruisers on Rotterdam notice if there is any dancing at the Ocean Bar in the evenings? We do ballroom/swing and some casual nightclub dancing.

    Thanks!

  11. We were seated next to a couple about our age in the MDR on NCS Star (we each had a two-top, not a group table). They struck up a conversation with us and although we're generally happy to keep to ourselves, we kept up the discussion through the meal, covering topics such as where we live, raising kids, occupations, the usual stuff. They were very interesting, pleasant people, and I thought the evening was very enjoyable. We ended the evening with a cheery "See you around the ship!" type of departure and went our separate ways.

The following day, we happened to get into an elevator with them and cheerfully greeted them with a "Well, hello, fancy seeing you again!" or similar, and to our surprise, we were met with a not exactly cold but an uncomprehending stare from both of them, as though they'd never seen us before. Our smiles dimmed a bit but we just shrugged and let it go. They departed the elevator without a word. We ran into them several times thereafter and they acted as if they'd never laid eyes on us. It was so strange, I had to wonder if we had unknowingly said or done something to offend them, or perhaps they had been drinking a lot that evening and completely blacked us out!

  12. We have met great people on all our cruises with the exception of this last one a few weeks ago.

Alaska R/T out of Seattle on the HAL Eurodam. First time for both - Alaska and HAL. Sailing into Glacier Bay when my wife and I went to breakfast in the MDR - asked for a window seat and shared a table with a woman from Canada. Said "Good Morning" and it was downhill from there.

It was her first time to Alaska and on HAL as well, but rather than admire the scenery of entering Glacier Bay, she proceeded to tell us how horrible HAL was and it is nothing compared to RCCL. The staff were rude, the food horrible, the ship was disgusting and everyone lies to you. Waiter comes by and asks for our drink order - having a drink package, she wanted a specific type of bottled water and didn't want the one in the plastic bottle. When he left to find someone about it, she told us that they "don't want to give out the good stuff". The Maitre 'd comes out and wasn't sure what she wanted and she told her the "good stuff in the glass bottle" that she got at some bar on the ship - and none of that "fizzy stuff". She leaves to find it and she tells us that she is going to get the most she can out of the drink package to make up for being on Holland America. One of the sommeliers eventually come by with what she was looking for.

By that time we were nearly finished with breakfast and just wanted to get out of there. He opens the bottle of water, pours her a glass and leaves. She asks if we would like some and we politely decline. She takes a couple of sips and gets up to leave, leaving that full glass AND bottle on the table. She says her goodbyes and says she is going back to her cabin to go back to sleep

Wife and I just look at each other and shrug as we get ready for the day in Glacier Bay, wondering how someone can go thru life being so unhappy........

Good grief...we may have been seated with this lady in the MDR on MSC Divina. She was so rude to the poor waitstaff, gave the server a real dressing-down because her poached eggs had come aside the toast, not ON TOP as she requested. She practically screamed at the poor guy, "YOU DON'T LISTEN!" and stormed off. We (quietly) use that as sort of a code joke line when we notice someone being an ass to servers. ;)

  13. I fondly remember/fantasize about a very debauched and delicious cocktail we enjoyed on the NCL Star a couple of years ago, the Rum Cake Martini. I was searching for it online today and came across this website (hopefully it's not a problem to post this here) - looks like you will be able to recreate at home most any cocktail you enjoyed on NCL! Can't wait to make a few of these diet-destroying liquid desserts. :p

  14. While we were on the Eurodam in December, we won a free cruise voucher in a raffle during bingo! This would have been a fantastic surprise regardless, but as we had received the (not unexpected) news that my father had passed away the day previous, it really brightened our day and brought a much needed smile among the tears. It felt like a little consolation prize from beyond...thanks, Dad!

Anyway...back on earth. I am looking at the voucher, and it says it is "...combinable with promotions RH, PC and PD only".

Does anyone know what these promo codes are? I did leave a vm for my PCC, he called back and left a vm for me but didn't explain the promo codes. Any info or advice is much appreciated.
