Should you bring a bottle of wine, only for stateroom consumption, do you have to bring your own bottle opener? Or can you borrow one?
I have asked in the past and my cabin attendant has been more than happy to get a corkscrew for me.

Love Capt Johnny on Allure, sorry we aren't gonna see him Dec 7th (based on rotation schedule) does anyone know about the other Allure Capt? Thanks!!

I don't have a recent cruise with Capt Tore in August 2013 I was on Allure for his first ever cruise in charge of Allure. I never saw him around the ship or chatting to people. He didn't honestly seem very happy when he was making announcements or doing the obligatory interactions with guests. I saw him at the return C&A guest party in the AquaTheater and whilst he did what he should, he really didn't seem happy.
However, I am sure there was a lot of pressure on him that week and this isn't a true reflection of how he is normally. I have seen reviews since and he seems to get on very well with passengers.
I am sure you will have a great cruise regardless!

No it isn't. As far as I know it was specifically built to resemble a cruise ship and isn't a former cruise ship.

To be honest I really don't think it matters. The side the ship docks on can change. I have done Western on Allure in a port side GS. Each time the ship docked with starboard side to the port! However, in Jamaica I could still see some land, just not the port. I still got great views though and there always seemed to be sun on the balcony.
Have a great cruise, you will love it regardless and at least you are on the ship!
Do they clean all the cabins while in drydock ?

I spoke to a cabin attendant after the week Allure had in dry dock to fix the azipod. Their first job was a thorough deep clean of all their cabins and if (big if) they had any time left they were assigned to other cleaning duties. I would imagine the same could be said for Oasis.
I guess if anything was particular worn, as previously mentioned, it would be addressed if required.
