silly question, but was your charm a whale/mermaid tail?  i was on this summer and saw LOTS of people with red, silver and gold tassels (assuming the color either represented their comp level or tied them to a specific promotion company), but i saw lots of silver mermaid/whale tails in october.  wasn't sure if that was just a lot of people that wanted to nautically jazz up their bands or casino stuff!

Yes its a mermaid charm that they give you. That's how the bar staff know to give you the free drinks and also the casino staff knows not to charge the 7% fee to take out money on your credit card.

Did you get free drinks while playing in casino since you were booked through UC?  If so,  I heard you could get them direct from the casino bar?  Thanks

You get free drinks in the casino if booked through URcomped if you are booked in a sea terrace or higher.. My friend had a free sea terrace I only had Seaview so he got free drinks and I didn't until I reached 2500 points and then I also got free drinks and yes you could go to the casino bar anytime they are open and show them the charm they put on your band and get free drinks from the casino bar

Did you have any slots play at all, or all tables ?  Was the 4000 you only or you + your SO combined ?  Would you mind sharing your table(s) of choice, average bet, and hours of play to get to 4000 points on Virgin table play ?  Thanks !

I had some slot play but very little. the 4000 points was only me I was with my friend and he got his own 4000 points and had his own separate cabin. My table of choice is Ultimate Texas Holdem. I play between $10-$15 on ante and blind and I always play $10 on the trips which always gives you more points... I play many many hours. Basically anytime the casino is open I play probably between 6-10 hours a day on sea day and port days whenever I am done eating dinner until they close. Closed down the casino every night.

Thanks.  Dex took care of us while on the cruise.  No idea how many points we hit... I remember it was around 4000 a few days in... ?

Yeah Dex took care of us too. I am a table player so it is harder for me to acquire points. I ended the cruise with around 4000 points. If you are a slot player im sure you probably hit the 6500 threshold. If you dont want to use a junket like URcomped just call the casino phone number for virgin and have them look you up in their system. I'm sure they have your play in the system.

Edit to sayt "  Booked direct with Virgin Casino via promo from one of the online slot guys"

I just got off Valiant lady and was on a comp casino cruise booked through URComped. The host Dex told me in order to get offers from Virgin casino department you needed to have had 6500 points by the time you got off the ship. He told me if you dont your better off using a junket like URComped to get more casino offers.

Last night you were able to able gamble with your own cash or from the onboard ATM. The slot machines were not busy at all but the table games were. Supposedly there were hundreds of customers on a gambling cruise that weren't in the system and had issues.

Yes, we were given a red tassel for the bracelet signifying free drinks at the casino bar. You don't have to be actively playing to get a drink.

I also have a casino offer from URcomped and I am going on Virgin in November. Where do you get the Tassle for the free drinks? Do you have to go find the host to get the Tassle? Or do you get it at check in?

Hello! We’re on board this week, having a fantastic time!

Correct, Cyprus was swapped with Dubrovnik on our itinerary (I think yesterday?). We received a paper notifying us of the change at check in. Two of the other port days (Santorini and Rhodes) changed dates as well causing some logistical issues for anyone with plans booked through third parties. I suppose we were lucky that both of ours were willing to move the date for us no problem!

Last night at dinner (maybe 8:00ish) the Captain announced we would only be allowed off in Mykonos the next day with a ship excursion. We were bummed as all of the original excursions were very expensive ($150+ pp) and not really anything we were interested in. Luckily they did add a beach transfer option late last night for $45pp (one to Paradise Beach and one to a family beach). At Paradise Beach we have a section of chairs roped off for cruise passengers only as to create a “bubble” of sorts.

The timing of Celebrity’s announcement last night is consistent with the government’s public communications so I do believe they told us when they knew and weren’t trying to withhold information or anything. Keeping our fingers crossed for the other ports!

The ship is absolutely beautiful and the staff has been nothing but friendly and helpful. Having a great time!!

Hi, I am glad you are having a wonderful time The ship looks amazing. I am going to be on Apex next week and I was wondering if you can confirm they added the beach option in Mykonos for $45? With all the changes I am trying to figure out what we should do there and that might be a good option. Thanks for your help. - Steph

It is all spelled out on the Celebrity website. Rather than attempt to list all the things, you might want to have a look there

Do remember that you need to inform Celebrity of your Royal Caribbean status. It isn’t automatic that they would know.

Yes I already got my captains club number so I am good there.. I will go on the website and check it out.. I just wasn't sure if there are somethings included that aren't listed.. I know Royal sometimes does that so I wasn't sure about Celebrity.

  9. Hello, I am Diamond plus on Royal Caribbean which obviously status matches to Elite on Celebrity. I am wondering if Elite gets any discounts for specialty restaurants, drink packages, and internet packages. If anyone has any info on this I would really appreciate it as I am going on Edge June 26th and I am trying to plan what I want to purchase before the cruise vs onboard. Thanks

Wait!!!! So December 9th is still a go? That's our original date. Oh my god. I'm more confused than ever now! How do I talk to someone who knows what they are doing?

I called right after booking because I accidently typed a kids bday in wrong and wanted to make sure it got fixed. I put the wrong year. The person I spoke to said they would fix it and make sure to have someone sing Happy Birthday to him when we were on board. Nevermind the fact that his birthday is in August and we sail in December. I finally figured out how to manually change it myself but this person sounded like the exact same person I spoke to the last time.

Yes according to the travel agent site its still a go. I really think you spoke to someone who has no clue what they are talking about. I would suggest calling the crown and anchor line even though you have no status. Explain what happened to you and usually they have people who are more qualified to speak with.

I haven't heard a peep from the cruise line and both me and our other family booked directly through them. No TA. I even purchased the discounted beverage package yesterday. I'm very confused by all of this. At this point I've only paid for the beverage package and our $500.00 down payment for two rooms which should all be refundable. But why is their website showing and allowing us to book cruises that don't exist?

Also are you on the Dec 9th sailing?   If so ask if you can have rooms 7662 and 7664 they are connecting and then your friends could get 7674 and 7676 which are also connecting.. You will have 4 cabins between your friends but at least you will be very close and each family can have connecting cabins.. They don't make 4 connecting cabins that just doesn't exist..

I am a travel agent. Whoever you spoke to on the phone is 100% wrong. I can even book it on the travel agent site.. This happens a lot sadly.. The people in the customer service department are often clueless. I suggest you call back and speak to someone else.

  13. Hi, My friend got an offer from Celebrity Blue chip club for a free veranda stateroom on Summit. We are curious about a couple of things.. 1. Do the free rooms now come with the "everything included" perks?  Also #2 in Royal Caribbean's casino club many of the offers come with a trade in value incase the dates they provide don't work for you.. Does anyone know if Celebrity's offers also come with a trade in value? Thank you. - Stephanie

Yeah, that's what I was thinking, how can it be a bad purchase when they give the $25 back to play plus 2 drinks? Maybe I'm missing something?

its not a bad purchase if your not a casino member.. If you are prime and above you get free drinks anyway so paying $25 to get $25 in freeplay for a casino member is a bad deal.. When I wrote my first comment I forget not everyone is prime or above lol sorry about that.

What time of day is that?  They want people who have 2 drinks for breakfast?

Sorry should of explained more.. Its done on The first day 30-45 min before the casino opens basically while they are waiting to get to international waters... Then its done about 30-45 min before they open on port days.. Its not generally done on sea days because exactly the casino doesn't close..

So where would that be when you walk into a casino on the ship, all the dealers seem to be busy, so how would they give you a free lesson on each type of game?

They aren't going to spend time teaching you with regular gamblers already playing at the tables?

They give the free lessons starting from 1 hour before the casino opens everyday.. Its clearly posted in the cruise compass and its always free. Do not spend money on this item from the cruise planner

  17. No but honestly I think it was very unwise for him to tell MSC something that is a TOTAL RUMOR. Some random crew member said that.. It has been my experience that not all crew members always know what's going on and to repeat something that has not been verified is ridiculous and dangerous. I get your friend was trying to do the right thing and honestly the fault is with the crew member but I just think your friend should of said nothing since nothing was confirmed.

We are on a 12 day cruise - 4 ports.

Thanks for all the tips and advice.  Just reading old threads with old information, lol.    Mostly wanting to know if there is anything current that I was missing and couldn't find on their site.

    🙂

no sorry. either you buy a drink package or pay as you go.. Also cocktails are about $13-$14 each after gratuity.. Like others said sometimes drink cards become available but usually not until the end of the cruise..

Does anyone know if the $$$ off offers can be booked through a travel agent and with group reservations?

It can be booked with a travel agent BUT they can not use group pricing.. The Travel agent basically calls casino Royale for you and books you but casino rates can not be combined with travel agent group space rates.

    Thank you it does help.

I am not trying to overstep but I think your relative might be lying to you about how much they are spending... I bring about $3,000 a cruise and I only get offers for Oceanview/balcony rooms.. I feel like to get junior suite offers you must be spending a lot.. Now I see you said she plays slots.. I play table games which gives less points so maybe she does rack up those points.. BUT I still cant imagine getting enough points only spending $50 a day.. I put in about $100 in a slot and get like 160-200 points for a free junior suite I believe you need 8,000 points it just doesn't make sense to me she could only spend $50 but again I am not trying to overstep. If she really is only spending $50 that's fantastic and I wish I could have their luck!! I do hope however your family member is not in trouble..
