  1. The Eurodam seems to be this group's go-to ship.  We were on a Caribbean cruise on the Eurodam about 14 years ago and their presence was very noticeable.  Many venues were not accessible to the other guests.
If my memory serves me correctly, it was not the friendliest group of people and as someone mentioned, they didn't mix with the other passengers.  We made sure we were not on one of their cruises after that. It's been many years since then, so I hope it's different for you.

There is some good news:  the ridiculous Premium Dessert benefit included in the Plus package includes all the offerings at the gelato bar!  Going for some cones today!!

That is good news.  We're are on the Sky next month. Tried one of those desserts on the Crown in August and never went back for another.  Horrible stuff and a real waste of calories.
I was just telling my DH that the gelato bar would have been a much better choice for the Plus pkg benefit.  I'm sure it will be more popular too.
  3. We stayed at the EXchange Hotel Vancouver this past August pre-cruise.  Very nice hotel just 2 blocks from the port (located at the corner of Howe St & Pender St).  Easy access to all the sites and restaurants around the port of Vancouver.   Approx $500 CAN per night, which was half the price of the Pan Pacific Hotel.

  4. We were on the Sapphire in Norway 4 years ago and it was amazing because of the open decks while going through the fjords.  Took some amazing photos on the decks around the aft pool.

We are going to Alaska on the Crown (11 days)
In August and we're really looking forward to it.

We are also in a similar situation as some that cancelled before pause 1.

We cancelled on Mar 11, 1 day before pause 1.
Our cruise was on the Regal - April 19 with a b2b on May 4

We received a refund to our CC of 50% fare + port fees and taxes to cover both cruises about 2 weeks after we cancelled.  So we are now waiting for the other 50% to be refunded.

We originally chose option 1 on Mar 12, but changed it to option 2 on May 5 when Princess sent an email encouraging us to take option 1.  I figured we had waited long enough.

On May 26 we received an updated cancellation notice for both cruises that showed  cancellation fees = none.   No mention of our ezair flights on that notice.
Still no FCC's showing on our accounts.

According to Princess our payment has been processed and waiting for release to our CC.  Whether any of this is true ... who knows.

    94 days and still waiting.

I have to disagree respectfully, I have also been in both SS and AQ cabins. With a Sky Suite you get access to the  Luminae exclusive dinning for all meals and all the other Celebrity suite perks. With the HAL SS no exclusive dining or  free access to Club Orange or breakfast in the PG like Neptune Suites get. Other than a larger cabin with SS you get nothing more other than double cruise nights for Mariner Club. I would take a AQ class cabin over a HAL SS anytime because of the added perks and exclusive dining. Suite perks in my opinion by HAL are totally lacking compared to Celebrity.

I was only thinking of cabin real estate.

With Celebrity we only stay in Sky suits or above because of the superior amenities.

We stay in verandah cabins with HAL because you don't get much more than the real estate in a Signature Suite.  But we love HAL for their itineraries.

  7. You can't compare Celebrity Aqua class & HAL Signature suites.  I've stayed in both. Totally different animals.

Signature Suites are comparable to Sky Suites, both are junior type suites.

Aqua class is a balcony cabin with a dedicated dining room and access to the spa.

  8. I like to choose my cabin location and your upgrade would be a downgrade for me.   The fact that the balcony is totally uncovered is the reason I never book mini-suites on that class of ship.  It being so far aft is also a minus for me.

I hope you can get your cabin back.

We are disembarking one ship (berth 101) and getting on another (berth 38/9) on the same day in May.
How far is it from the Southampton city cruise terminal to QEII cruise terminal?
Can we walk it?  If it's too far to walk, what would be the best way to get to the next ship?

  11. Thanks for doing this trip report, and best wishes to the Bride.

Can you share from which terminal in Port Everglades that you sailed? I think PE is still constructing/remodeling the terminal for the Edge although I have no idea of how far along it is. Also, is your Suite concierge Erik Guzman? If so, we adore him.

Excited to hear about how the party turns out.

    Scanditaly

Boarded the ship at terminal 26 (often used by Holland America)

Hi Adam, we are also on this cruise and loving your live review. We're in a sky suite and enjoying this beautiful ship. Maybe we'll cross paths on board.

  12. We finally got to a taxi at 11am. It was kaos in the terminal. Nothing to identify the line for US passengers or we Canadians holding Nexus (GLOBAL) cards. Finally we found someone directing and they pointed us into the right line. There were 20 people in front of us, so it went quickly. The line for everyone else must have easily been upwards of a thousand.
