  1. Hello! I have read multiple threads on cashing out gift cards in the casino. Would this process also work for cashing out OBC? I have $436 in OBC from price drops and credits from a cancelled Fascination cruise. Some will be used to pay our gratuities and I’m sure some will go to drinks and other fun stuff but I doubt we will use it all. Can I use the same process in the casino as cashing out the gift card and just cash out that OBC? I’m not sure if the way the credits are added to the account has an effect on getting cash from the casino. Thanks!

  2. Our upcoming cruise was showing a price drop under DH's VIFP# but not mine. They were able to change it when I called and gave them his number, but they did say he had to be on the booking (which he was) in order to get that rate.

I don't know if that's accurate or not; it's probably worth a shot to at least try again once.

Thanks for this post! I had only been checking my VIFP for price drops. I just checked my boyfriends number and scored $186 in OBC!

  3. No $254 flight for 3 people. Only available when booking for 1 person.

Fail on my part. Didn’t even realize I hadn’t changed the number of passengers. That brings the flight up to $289pp one way. I’d almost keep an eye on prices to see if they fluctuate. If I’d waited I’d have $300 in the bank instead of travel funds right now. Waiting comes with its own risks of course.

  4. The flight there leaves HOU at 5:45am on 6/8 with a layover at MCO and arrives at SJU at 12:30pm. Flight numbers are 2512 and 4404. It’s the second flight listed in my search. I’d post a picture but I’m not sure how. I did not check the flights home.

My cruise is in April and I booked my flights at the end of December because prices had been holding steady. This past weekend the prices dropped $300 for round trip. You could wait a little while to see if prices drop, but then you obviously also run the risk of the prices going up or the flights selling out. As stated previously in the thread, with Southwest you can get the price difference issued in travel funds which must be used within a year of the booking date.

  5. We are having the worst luck when trying to find airline tickets out of Houston. They have one flight that leaves June 2 which is 11 pm and arrive at 5 am for $494(what are we to do at that time of morning). If we leave out June 3, the day of the cruise, the price is $694 on United. Its even higher on Delta and AA. Southwest is priced at $453 pp but has a layover in Fort Lauderdale the day of the cruise and can't pick my seats(have two young kids). I tried flying into MIA or FLL and then to San Juan on June 3 but it keeps saying no flights found which makes no sense to me .

    Any suggestions? Thanks in advance

I also vote for a Southwest. Each passenger gets 2 free checked bags which saves a ton of money. I just checked flights for June 3rd and I’m not showing anything near $453 per person. There’s a flight with a stop in Orlando for $254pp and you get to PR by 12:30pm. Checkin isn’t until 1:30pm and that leaves plenty of time before the ship leaves if for some reason there is a delay.

Was the $453pp the round trip price?

  6. Which airline is that?

I totally quoted the wrong post. Sorry! On Southwest you can rebook your flight for a lower price if you find one on their website after you book. The difference is given as a travel credit that must be used (actual flight taken, not just booked) within a year of the original booking date.

  7. Another note... it seems free frequent flyer tickets TO San Juan are plentiful on American, but not coming back. I guess everyone wants to leave there ;p.

We were able to get everyone in our group of four a free airline ticket to San Juan but there was nothing free available coming back, so we are paying regular price for the return. Still a one way ticket back was $245 with taxes and all. Not too bad.

Check for price drops! Our flight there dropped to $129 on Friday and the flight home dropped to $129 on saturday. I’ve currently got $300 in travel funds to use by August. Great excuse for another cruise!

  8. Have you tried going in to Manage My Cruise and Print My Documents? I've found that our OBC often doesn't show up with the general information, but WILL be in the Print My Documents section. This is especially true for OBC as a result of price drops, as well as stockholder OBC. In fact, it's true for the cruises I currently have booked. You don't need to actually print them, yet. Just check to see if the OBC is there.

THIS! I posted this same question about a month ago. I did what the poster above suggested and everything was there.

  9. Check airfare before deciding. The flight to Florida may be considerably cheaper than one to Puerto Rico if you are picking a trip based solely on price. The Fascination itinerary is amazing though. I’m booked for April and I’m flying in the day of the cruise.

  10. If you look for posts about “Captain Bob” you will find a lot of information. I just checked my emails and I booked on December 11th for our trip in April. I only have two people though so you should probably book earlier. Hopefully someone that’s done a large group will be able to help. Our deposit was $50 for both people.

  11. Thanks for your input! I went ahead and booked the 11am flight yesterday. We fly Southwest so we were given the price drop in travel credit. I figured if we decide that 11am is to early, we’ll just rebook a later flight using the credit. Thank you for your tip about the porters. This was not something that I had come across before.

I would still love to hear experiences from anyone else that has had an early flight booked from San Juan!

  12. Hello! What is the earliest flight recommended out of San Juan on a Carnival Cruise docking at 7am in April? I have done some searching on google and old threads but I haven’t been able to find anything stating if timing at the airport has changed post hurricane.

My boyfriend and I are currently booked flying to San Juan from one airport, and home into another due to flight pricing. This morning a nonstop flight from San Juan at 11am has dropped significantly and would put us back at the same airport we left from.

We would obviously do self-debarked to get off ASAP. Just looking for experiences from others that have done an early flight, or experiences with SJU in general. Thanks!

  13. They’ve been posting updates on their Facebook page. They posted a blog around New Years with some updates on what they have gotten up and running. Hopefully this link works:

It looks like they are definitely not up to 100% but it might but worth visiting. My cruise was cancelled back in October and we’ve rebooked for April. I was excited to see that the sea lion swim is available for booking again because that’s the excursion we orig8nally had booked.

  14. I don't understand that advice. That credit shouldn't have anything to do with you changing rates. I would ask my pvp to explain that one.

I've changed rates before and kept credits from a previously cancelled cruise.

While I was on the phone with him he put me on hold to check to see if that credit would transfer. Not sure who he checked with. I thought about just submitting the price adjustment form and putting in the notes section to not change the booking if I would loose the cancellation credit but I was afraid it would get screwed up and I’d loose my $200 cancellation credit and my $50 From the future cruise offer. That wouldn’t be worth it to save $140 and go to a garauntee cabin.

  15. Just checked my cruise that I have booked in April. I could save $140 off of my booking price but my PVP just told me I would lose my $200 credit I have from rebooking my cancelled Fascination cruise. At booking I was told this $200 was a separate credit and would transfer to new bookings. Oh well! Good find for you and hopefully some other will save some money!

  16. Hello! I am booked on an April Fascination sailing. I should have $200 in OBC for rebooking a cancelled Fascination cruise, plus $50 in OBC credit for booking with the future cruise offer. On the Carnival site it is only showing that I have $50 in OBC. I emailed my PVP to ask about the discrepancy and he emailed me a copy of my booking that shows $250 in OBC. I replied to his email asking if it is normal for the OBC amounts to not match but he has not responded. It also took a week and two emails for him to respond to the original question so I may need a new PVP.

So, does anyone here know if this is normal for the site and the booking email to not match? I can post pictures of both if necessary, just wasn’t sure if there’s anything I should scribble out on the pictures. I know a common answer here is to call Carnival, but the person I would usually call is the one that’s not being helpful. Thanks!

  17. I went to the Q&A with him on the Fascination back in October. He said that they were trying to make it one loyalty program across all of their lines but that it was difficult to do because some lines base their programs on days on board and some programs base it on money spent.

  18. I got the $200 OBC for a cancelled cruise. I also got a $50obc for the promotion I booked under. I specifically asked if my $200 would follow my booking during price drops and I was told yes. However, I will call if I find any price drops just to make sure it doesn't accidentally get deleted.
