Hi Neilio, I hope you and your wife are snug in Copenhagen (and with all your luggage!) and looking forward to boarding tomorrow. If you are so inclined, it would be GREAT if you would start a new thread of LIVE from the Spirit: Copenhagen to Stockholm (or to London if you are continuing on). There are a few of us following this thread who will be embarking in London and your posts would be most welcome as we anticipate our cruise. But whatever you do, please have a wonderful cruise!
I will be on Stockholm to London so will do a live from as it will be my first time on the Spirit since the stretch ... really looking forward to next week now :):)

Agree the train is faster as I get it a few times a week but as I mentioned above before10am and between 16h00 and 19h00 not great if you have luggage as it is super busy and difficult to even get a seat until you get past Basingstoke. But during off peak times it is fine. You can purchase tickets and check times on http://www.nationalrail.co.uk. they cost less if you buy more than a week in advance and first class tickets are also available.

Thanks Flossie I did not know that as this is my first Regent cruise, normally travel with Silversea but I liked this itinerary and I am taking my parents it will be their first cruise so I am hoping they like it :)

Agree with the above I would book a private transfer there are different roads to get to Southampton.
The train from London Waterloo station does go direct to Southampton Central which is about 1.5 miles from the port and taxis are available there. The journey is around 70 mins. But if you are like me and have a lot of luggage not a great way to travel unless it is in the middle of the day and not in rush hours.

Thank you yes that's perfect

If I want to book a table for more than one cabin is this possible on line as well or do I need to do this through the TA - thanks
-
27 days for me I think I am on the sailing just before you...will have to get the cases down soon and drive my DH up the wall with my planning
-
Thank you that sounds great - I will get in touch with the TA he does love Italian food :)

Hi, it will be my Fathers birthday while we are on board the Voyager, would it be best to book a restaurant? Any other suggestions would be appreciated. Many thanks

It is so unbelievable that SS did for foresee the consequences of having a group as large as this not ruin the cruise for others. I have been on a charter on SS as well for a sales incentive but we did charter the whole of the Spirit which ensures something like this does not happen. The main reason I now book SS is for the great people I meet and the atmosphere of a relaxing cruise. Which is certainly not what a sales incentive is for.

I enjoyed it too and is making me think about booking that itinerary. It's a perfect job, but alas my singing ability lets me down.

Good point forgot about the app would be interesting to know if it does work overseas. I have just checked and the last episode of cruising with Jane Mcdonald is on the app when she was in Australia

Help if I could spell Sailing :o

Just got a note through the post that Jane McDonald's program on cruising will be on the Muse and will be shown on Channel 5 on Friday 22nd at 9pm and part two on 29th June - should be a good watch

Hi yes as far as I know it is just a request but I have always got the bookings that I have entered on MySilversea 7-8 is the early booking time and you can put in a request for every evening if you want. Also it would be good to know others experience but if you have any sea days that is normally a formal night.
-
On a 10 day cruise I went on last year there were no formal nights shown on My Silversea, however it did say on SS website that normally a 10 day will have 2 formal nights... and when we arrived in our cabin the itinerary showed the 2 evenings and the dates of the formals. I had booked the Grill for one of the formal evenings so I just asked the butler if he would change my bookings which he did.
My August cruise for this year does already show the dates for the formal.

It is British humour, he knows their problem was unique but SS is saying otherwise :)

Thanks for the blog I am too a first time Regent booker - end October, and what great information on the cruise which is very helpful
-
Just read about your cruise Jeff - how awful, I am really lost for words as although to have problems in a cabin is not great, having the whole ship basically turned into Butlins is unimaginable. Glad you are home for some rest and what looks like some great food - Andrea

I normally cruise with SS and love it and have another one booked for August but will be on my first Regent adventure in November as taking my folks with us and I liked the itinerary as it was not too far to fly to Rome. I do like the formal dressing of SS but equally will not mind being more casual, hoping all the positive things I have read on these boards is true of Regent :)

Just to put the others mind at rest I have had nothing but fantastic holidays and service from SS. I also have another cruise booked in August on the Spirit. However I am not taking away the terrible way that the OP has been treated I cannot believe that they have not responded it is very disappointing. I had a similar experience on another line and they also sent me a future credit of £200 which was laughable I should have taken it further.

Thanks Les as always great photos - really appreciate the video and pics I am booked on the Spirit again at the end of August so good to see how she looks now.

This really does not sounds like the Silversea I know - I do hope they sort this out to your satisfaction. I feel for you since this is your first holiday in such a long time. I would do the same as Jeff suggested above but I hope you can start to enjoy yourself at least for the last few days
Live from Spirit Stockholm to London 31 August 2018
in Silversea

Well not live yet but all packed and fly out in the morning. Will be staying in Stockholm for one night. Our meet and mingle did not meet the required numbers so do not think a lot of members will be on the cruise but I know quite a few will be on the crossing after I disembark in London. This is my 3rd time on the Spirit but 1st time since the stretch so will be interesting to see the changes. As you can imagine I am not excited at all :)
