What negative stuff about the dawn are you talking about it?

Every time someone posts questioning the dawn- it's filled with positive responses. Seen tons of them over the past month. I have been on both Dawn and Breakaway. I would do Dawn again plus the ship will be renovated by then.

Keep in mind dawn is going to dry dock early 2016- so I bet it's only going to get better.

Oh and I have been on the breakaway too. I would still go back to dawn if i Booked a cruise now.

Was on Dawn in October 2015. Was in great shape, perfect non-mega sized ship. Also had a great time.

But you also pay more than when booking through a good TA.

 

We have always gotten about 10% better price and better service from our TA than by booking direct. Also the same agent can help us with any cruise line and I don't need to build a new relationship with an agent from every cruise line.

I guess the price thing can be true.

But better service? I booked a trip online in less than 10 minutes online. Picked my promo, my room and put deposit down. Had my confirmation emails quick and my online account had the cruise listed.

What service? I don't need any service.

I have read way to many issues when booking with TA. Lying about promos, actually not even booking the cruise, unresponsive etc.

I provided great service and had everything done in 10 minutes.

Again, maybe old vs new? You have to admit, I see way more negative things on here about TAs than other topics. I have never used a TA, and this board certainly is not pushing me to do so. I travel a lot and book everything myself.

You were on the cruise with most likely the least amount of younger people. Back to school. Maybe a cabin in the woods in Vermont is better suited for you or 21+ resort? It's vacation, I'm not a child or young. I chugged and had a great time. I was on Dawn 10/9 cruise. No complaints.

I had GF many times. No charges, under UBP

I was just on the dawn. Most crew said moving to different ship. Heard many going to the Star ( or could have been sky)0

I countered with $500 in total for the SE/SF. Don't think they will accept it, but who knows.

Always worth a shot. Do tell if they respond or if you call and whatever their response is.

And, it's Ultimate Dining and Beverage, not unlimited. There are limits on both.

Incorrect, I see unlimited right on the homepage.

Nobody reads terms and conditions any more... Clearly states you pay the 18 percent.

Still a great deal if you like to drink!! I booked before June and didn't have to pay the 18 percent, but if I booked now I would still get it.

Some prices would be helpful so we know what tiers your at..

On the dawn in sept. Didn't really bother me. Two hours. Departure time the same.

Yes, how was the trip otherwise? I'm doing my first dawn trip in October.

This turned into a bash fest against the op.

However..

Has OP stayed at a hotel and see the fees associated with room service. When instead I can just run down to the restaurant??

If it cost the same, people would have outlawed the RS fees long time ago. But you know what, I used it last weekend bc I had breakfast in bed and didn't have run down the back stairwell and run it back to my room.

It's a lot of ocean out there!

Feel your PAIN!!! Booked the Getaway for my Husband and I this NOV. cancelled that and booked for our family of 4 out of Boston on the DAWN. Hope we love it! Just wish there were more choices from Boston. Don't want to spend the extra $$$ traveling to the port!!!

 

I wish we were on the bigger ship...kids would have more fun....but to spend about 2 thousand more for a decent room (in a suiet on th Dawn) and the cost to go to NY....just not worth it!!

Not so fast on the "wish we were on a bigger ship" Dawn is a great ship, even with kids. Mega ships are not as amazing as you think. I have been on Breakaway and Dawn; i like the Dawn better. I am under 30, no kids; however speaking with everyone OB kids had a great time.

Awesome review! I just added Morningstar Beach to my favorites so I remember it when we sail in October. Also I have been like you and going back and forth about the Vibe. Thanks for confirming my thoughts about it......

 

One question about Morningstar though..... I assume you got dropped ff by a cab at the Marriott, do they have a restaurant and bar close to the beach that we could have lunch and by drinks?

Maegans bay trumps Morningstar at the Marriott. I stayed at that Marriott and been to both beaches. Yes maegans bay was busy when a cruise came in, but it's one of the most beautiful places I have been.

Morningstar is just a regular beach at a hotel in comparison.
