  1. We are sailing on the Jade to the Western Caribbean in December this year. We sailed on the Jewel this past February and they seem to be identical layouts, with just some of the restaurants and bars with different names. We will be in a 2 bed suite with an adjoining mini-suite for our older children this time (they didn't get to go in February due to college schedules). I cannot wait to go again!

  2. 3 hours isn't long enough. It is approximately a one hour bus ride to the spot where you cave tube and then a small hike (20 mins or so) up to the top where you enter the water, and then the tubing itself takes about 45 mins or so, then back. If you decide to zipline on top of that, you'll not have enough time. I will say that Vitalino told us he has never had anyone miss the tender back to the ship. We were in the first tender, so around 8:30 am and the group was picked up right outside of the pier, no waiting. We returned around 4-5 pm I think and made the last tender without any problems. But it was an all day excursion. I think the ship was in Belize from 8am-6pm, so I'm sure we had to be back to the ship by 5:30 if I remember correctly.

I will say this company was EXCELLENT! It was my birthday, and Vitalino had his sister make a homemade birthday cake for me and another one so that the entire group could celebrate my birthday after lunch (there were 6 of us in our group, and another group together that made about 15-20 total). It was the kindest gesture and I really appreciated his thoughtfulness!

  3. We went in February 2015 and yes, they did accept a credit card, but there is an additional charge for using it (my husband paid, so I'm not sure of the exact amount, but I think it was around 10% if I remember correctly). We had taken enough cash, but decided once we got there to zipline and do the ATVing, so we decided to just use our credit card to pay. I will say this was a fantastic family and we loved this excursion (we could have done without the ATVing, but the kids had fun). The only downside was that I left our brand new, waterproof camera in their van and it was not ever found. I had hoped that someone would turn it in, especially since it had all our underwater pics from Cozumel and from our adventures in Belize that day. Oh well. I would highly recommend this company though! Hope you have a great time. I would take cash and pay in cash (US dollars are fine).

  4. We bought Allianz for our cruise last May and my husband needed to see the ship doctor (first time we've ever had to do that). We paid for the visit and kept the receipt, thinking that is what we would need to file the claim when we got home. I wish I had read all the insurance information completely before leaving (or at least on our cruise). I didn't realize we needed a letter from the ship doctor, along with the receipt, when submitting the claim. So, I never filed it- thankfully the visit was less than $200 and we just chalked it up to part of our vacation expenses. Lesson learned....Just passing along the info. Make sure to read the policy info in case you do have to file a claim (we never plan to!)

  5. Ok, I found where to book- thank you! Now I have another question: we did the fantastic dolphin swim last May is Nassau and so I was thinking this time we would do the Manatee or Sea Lion swim...I thought my kids might like the sea lions best and the pictures would be better, but the reviews for the Manatee are wonderful too. Any thoughts on deciding which one?

I'm running out of time to be researching :) And since I'll be gone for 10 days, I'm working every day this week, and strep and flu season are keeping my clinic full of patients and really limiting my computer time! LOL! Any help is much appreciated! The pictures on the Chankanaab website aren't loading (says page no longer available) and the map is small and difficult to see what all is offered. I need to go back through these reviews to help plan our day- just wanting to see what all there is to do there, and what is included and what we need to bring extra money for. I think somewhere I saw someone had posted the menu (but I have read so many threads lately, that may have been another menu!)

We had initially planned to do an excursion through the ship called Fury Catamaran and Aqua Park, but I have not seen anywhere else any information about the Fury Aqua Park....anyone know what this is? I thought it would be fun to snorkel and have the floating water park for the kids. Our other option was Playa Mia. But the reviews for Chankanaab were fantastic, so I think that is what we will do. I need to decide today!

  6. We are going on the Jewel this Saturday and are thinking of doing our Cozumel day at Chankanaab Park since there have been so many fantastic reviews on here. The website leaves a lot to be desired, or I am just missing a bunch of information on there. Where do we book? I was thinkin my kids might like the manatee swim- we did a fabulous dolphin swim in Nassau last May and so I'd love for them to do something different. I was hoping to find somewhere with a beach, some snorkeling, food/drinks, and maybe the water obstacle course/trampoline/slides, etc for the kids. Does anyone know if the 25% off promotion is still on, or where to find it? Where can I book this excursion?
