  1. Is there a tour group that does both Blue Hole and Dunns River Falls from Ocho Rios?

knowjamaicatours.com as mentioned above. Just did this last week and it was wonderful! There were only three of us with Javia Shaw but it was a very busy day in Jamaica with 8 ships in port.

We went the DRF and climbed it independently, no need to bother to wait for a guide to do the "human-chain" thing.

We then went to the Blue Hole where Jason was our guide. My timid 11 year-old did every jump largely I believe because the guide was so positive and fun. He carried my glasses, and took tons of photos and videos with my camera. Couldn't be happier with how it went.

Javia then took us to the Ocho Rios Jerk Centre and bought us some jerk chicken with festivals (yum!) and a pop. I hadn't even realized lunch was included in the price!

We then went to the beach at Bamboo Blu club for about an hour where the water was beautiful, clear and calm.

We got back to the ship well before all aboard. Probably the best excursion of our cruise. Highly recommend!

  2. Looks like rain next week. We are booked on a Dunn's River Falls and Blue Hole excursion through knowjamaicatours and was wondering if we should skip the Blue Hole and maybe do something else? We're willing to stick it out for the falls, but I hear the Blue Hole gets quite brown in the rain. Has anybody been there in the rain? Was it still worth it? Any other thoughts or possible alternatives?

    Thanks!

  3. We are renting a car and spending a couple of days post cruise in Port Canaveral/Orlando area and I was wondering if anyone had any insight into doing both the Kennedy Space Center and the wildlife refuge in the same day.

We will be there mid-March and the goal is to see some wildlife (crossing our fingers for manatee viewing) and spend around four hours at KSC.

Would the refuge be better to visit in the morning or late afternoon? We'd like to hit one spot, grab some lunch, and then visit the other. Are the lunch spots at KSC decent?

    Advice is much appreciated!

  4. I have been trying to book specialty restaurant and show reservations for 3 days now. I keep getting an error message "We've encountered an error. Please log out and try again later." Everything is good until I click on the "* I agree to the terms & conditions." Then click on "add to itinerary" then it is added to my cart but when I go to my cart and click on "go to payment" I get the above error code. What am I doing wrong???

I had the same problem. I even got that error after the payment screen, but when I looked at the summary my bookings did show up. Have you checked the summary to see if the reservations are already there? The NCL website DOES seem glitchy af. I'd call as others have suggested.

  5. I've booked an outside excursion for this port, but I'm starting to have second thoughts as I'm hearing that the tender process has been loooooooong here. We are in port 11AM-7PM and are to meet the tour provider at 12:15PM. I have already resigned myself to the fact that we might miss this port due to weather, but missing our excursion due to Epic tender shenanigans would likely spoil the mood for a good part of the cruise.

Should I cancel and just book a stingray excursion through NCL? (Way more expensive, and I've heard overcrowded boats)

Or do you think the tendering problems might iron themselves out by March?

I know there are no crystal balls to see into the future but any advice would be appreciated. Also, this will be my only second cruise and never tendered before.

    TIA

  6. There are no sculptures at the moment. We snorkeld there a couple of days ago using our own gear

This shows up as the first "featured" excursion for my March cruise. Does anybody have the scoop on whether the garden is still planned or when it would be completed? Alternatively, I seem to remember a snorkeler suggesting the best snorkelling area on GSC was NOT where the garden was/will be, but at some other location on the island but can't seem to find the post. Any ideas?

    Thanks,

  7. Okay - I did a quick mark-up to the GSC map. The good snorkeling is shaded in red. Again, it's in front of the private cabanas and off to the left. PM or post here if you need more info.

Hey mikeyd, you don't still happen to have that pic of that GSC map around somewhere do you? The passage of time has transformed the original into a file not found kitten. I do like kittens, but the map would be more useful! :p

  8. Just there on Sunday...there is wifi available but you have to pay....once I found that out I didn't inquire as to the cost. Sorry, not much help I know but at least you now know they do have it as an option. Hopefully someone else can tell you the cost...

It's actually a big help! Thanks!
