We spent 70 plus days on the Golden last year. We found nothing to complain about. We enjoyed the entertainment, food and the excellent staff.

We were on the Golden last year for 75 days and booked a Caribe balcony. We found the ship to be in good condition and loved the extended balcony. No smells or drips where we were in the center section of the ship.

On our 75 day cruise on the Golden last year a lot of people were booked on traditional dining time ie early or late. Many however turned up for anytime dining if the fixed time didn't suit. So doing that gives you the best of both worlds.

We have elite status and qualify for priority boarding.
We are taking my father with us on our next cruise - it will be his first cruise. He is in his own cabin.
Would we al be able to get priority boarding? When we made the booking - the princess agent "linked" the bookings so princess would be aware we are all together (if that makes any difference).
Thanks
If you check in together as a group you will all be able to go through together using priority boarding.

Just booked on the Majestic in October. I see we have to pay for the excursions at the time of booking. Is that normal now on all Princess ships.

This is the first time we have not received any significant email from Princess regarding our upcoming cruise, what changed in one year?
No idea about movies, entertainment, captain, maître d', etc. We may have received something about dining, but that's all.
Check your spam folder for missing emails.

We did the Yukon experience
Travelled into Canada by coach. Stopping off at a few stops for photo's and a bbq lunch near the half way point of the excursion. We also had a sled dog ride and visted a museum with the best taxidermy I have seen.
On the way back we stopped at the border and picked up the train back to town. Fantastic day out with a different commentary and views between the coach and train.

According to marine traffic all cruise ships have left Sydney harbour and the Sun Princess is off Coffs Harbour

We are more concerned about security lapses when the metal detector does not pick up my wife's metal knees.

The requirement to carry a passport on excursions varies for each country and port. Some require full face to face passport inspections. Some require you carry a document provided by the ship. Almost everywhere requires some form of government photo ID.
In addition some require an entry visa to be stamped in your passport.
The only way to know for sure is to follow the ships advice for each port and excursion.

We usually bring on two bottles of sparkling wine. The rest of the cruise we like to experiment and try new wines rather than drink the same ones we drink at home.

We haven’t cruised with Princess since 2002! And only4 cruises under our belt, but 3 booked! Didn’t know they had happy hour. Is it posted and at all bars, or just select? Will look for it!
There are two happy hours each day. One in the afternoon and one about 10pm. Usually in one bar only

Just purchase the bottles at happy hour $1 for the second bottle then put them in your fridge.

Trish,
Thanks for offering to answer queries.
Are there any / many padded chairs outside on the promenade deck, or is it just hard bench seats ?
Is the early happy hour working OK ?
Have you heard of much wait time for anytime dining around 6pm ?
Thanks.
If you wanted a table for two there was a short wait most days or they phoned the other restaurants to see if they had a table free. If you were willing to share you were seated most of the time without delay.

Cheers, have a great cruise.
Is the ship really in bad shape, some are saying that everything is broken.
I was on the ship for 71 days earlier this year and found the ship in good working order. The staff were excellent

We were on a long cruise earlier this year.
We did our own laundry as the laundry rooms were never busy due to over 1000 elite passengers having their laundry done by the ship.
