Oh I welcome the vegetarian options.. Idea:cool:ly I would like much more vegetarian food to be available suggestion... like vegetarian sausages for breakfast!! and there should be at least Two vegetarian options at every alternative dining venue. Cunard is going in the right direction but needs to do even more for vegetarians I would need to see fantastic vegetarian food options in the Grills before I would book up to that level. Looking forward to being on Queen Victoria in Athens on Saturday!
Cunard does have vegetarian sausages at breakfast, at least with room service. I just write them on the order and have always gotten them.

I really like to arrange a late checkout, or store my bags at the hotel, have a relaxing late breakfast or lunch and arrive Red Hook about 1:00 or 1:30. No matter my assigned time, no line, no wait, and no fighting for food and space in the Kings Court.

Indeed yes, someone's rate of pay is between them and their employer.
But you do not appear to be correct regarding US minimum wage. It varies by state, the lowest is Wyoming at $5.15 (£4) and the highest is DC at $11.50 (£8.90). The most common is around $7.50 (£5.80). So it's not anywhere near $2.
The rates you are quoting are not for people in service industries that include tipping. States have a lower minimum wage for servers. My husband gets paid 2.00 an hour as a waiter in Wisconsin. Pretty standard rate outside big cities.

Since you use the same lables to disembark now, I printed off a few extras in case anything happened to a label. Or I ended up with an extra bag.

It's a small price to pay in comparison to the trip, and you arrive on board collected, not drenched in sweat, or needing immediate spa treatments to stand upright.

An ocean view can be a great compromise. You get the larger size of a balcony (some are even a wee bit larger) and light but at a lower cost. And if the weather is good, the promenade deck and lounge chairs are perfect for sitting outside and will be only a few decks away.

I've always gotten off in New York for the Christmas trip on the QM2, but most(but not all) of the decorations are already down by Jan. 3.

You can't take your own appliances; a coffeemaker would almost assuredly be confiscated as a possible fire hazard, but a French press would probably pass muster.

Room service, the buffet, and the dining room all have "regular" coffee.

I believe the kid's clubs are open from about 6 to 10 or 11, designed for parents to be able to have dinner. I've been told making the late show isn't possible.

You won't have too much time for much touring. Customs can take a while on arrival and you'll be in Brooklyn, not Manhattan. Unless you do self disembarkation it could be mid to late morning before you are clear of the ship. Also, depending on your airport, you need to leave as much as an hour to get to the airport and be there 2 hours ahead of the flight to pass security.

Same thing for jogging. No need to buy a nylon running tux for after 6:00!

I've had these one day layovers at Heathrow and one option is to go to Hampton Court for the afternoon. There was a bus that left from in front of my Hotel (the Holiday Inn Ariel) that dropped me off right across from the palace' s main entrance. The ride was under an hour.

There is another advantage of the wine package. You won't be so caught up in the trip that you are moved (by the wine steward, your spouse, or pre-dinner cocktails) to buy that $100+ bottle of wine. I've always appreciated that we have decided our wine budget pre-trip when in a more rational and sober state of mind.

The other Queens usually time any world tour they do to allow for transfer to the QM2 at Southampton for a return to NYC.

From the previews I've seen, Queen Elizabeth will have an extended stay in Australia in winter 2019 instead of a World Tour.

I wouldn't write off HAL. The itinerary changes somewhat every year and so 2021's could be very different from what you are seeing for trips listed for the next several years.

I think Carnival has Seabourn in the small ship upscale niche so is less likely copy this with Cunard.

The single cabins do have a window, so they may be more comparable to the oceanview. And the single supplement is only 75 percent of the fare in Britannia class rather than double.

If you live near Macy's they frequently have some good sales on Men's Formal Wear. But if you want a real buy, try to find a food service uniform supply shop--the places waiters purchase their clothing. They frequently have tuxes for around $100.00 and usually sell in separates (jacket and slacks) reducing the costs for possible alterations.

There are special menus beyond modifications of the regular menu. I don't know about diabetics, but there are special vegetarian and vegan menus.

HAL changes their world cruise a bit each year so come 2021, they may be back to going through the Mediterranean as they usually have in the past.

I really like that the portions are small and I can feel comfortable ordering a four-course meal (and once a five course, couldn't decide between cheese and dessert). After all we have two hours plus for dinner, why not make it an occasion.

Just wondering
in Cunard Line

On three trips out of Red Hook, I've never successfully paid the driver in time to even SEE my bags taken out of the trunk, the porters appear so quickly and grabs the bags. He will hang around long enough for his tip.
