you may get a large group discount if you book select fare so it might work out just as cheap as saver fare?
-
As I understand you can take as much drinks as you want on board. You can also buy/replenish supplies at ports so you don't need to take as much as you might think when embarking on the first day
-
best to ask at reception when you get on board?
-
For our cruise on Ventura, we received luggage tags with the cruise brochure through the post but got an email to say E tickets were ready.

we're off on Ventura on Saturday to Spain/Portugal. I'm just going to take cropped trousers, jeans and lightweight full trousers. thinner layers like T shirts and lightweight fleece jackets are better, plus one waterproof jacket in case it rains. I'm taking a pair of trainers for port days as well as crocs and smart sandals for night time dinner.

Um we did have children in London pick pocketing us with a suspicious looking mother looking on at the edge of the group. I was in a school art group going round the art galleries. I'm only going to take a few euros out with me, the rest can stay in the safe on board in the cabin

one of the main port stops for my cruise next week, can't wait! What tips do you have to prevent pick pocketers?
-
You could always look for a nice bed and breakfast and support a small business .Sorry I cannot recommend but I am sure the local tourist information will help .
Yeah but smaller businesses may not necessarily be open late at night. Anyway sounds like the op is sorted

if you look on the website there's loads of information about the kids clubs. Most reviews I've seen of the Ventura is that although kids are on board, the adults don't see much of them so I presume this must be due to the kids clubs on board.

we won't get to the terminal until about half one next Saturday so won't directly affect us but I thought they always had the buffet open for lunch. We'll drive three hours then have a break somewhere further up north.

Mmmm, photos? Yes. Right. Bit of a techno-eegit, I'm afraid. Would appreciate some assistance with this. My pics are saved on my PC; what should I do next?
open a photo account like photobucket, then upload photos, and there is an option to get the IMG code for the picture. Then copy and paste it in a post on here.

I would think there is a premier inn somewhere around Southampton or just further north where you can check in later evening.

This thread is about the cabins right at the very back. On Azura and Ventura (and other ships) there is a line of cabins at the very back overlooking the ship's wake and neither a port nor starboard cabin. Sounds like your cabin is one close to the aft so will either be on port or starboard, but will still have a fab balcony. P&O has a price category for aft cabins which includes those in the long corridor and the ones at the very back as well
ah right. Yeah we're on starboard side, looking forward to it! Only a week to go

I'm not bothering with the wifi, they charge a lot for it considering its rubbish anyway. I can play games without wifi so I'm happy
-
I don't need reminding about the earlier threads, thanks. We know the risks. My dad is quite experienced driving on the roads down to Southampton so my trust is in him to get us there.
That's all I'm going to say on the subject

if you don't want to go formal you have to go in the buffet restaurant.

Hi Wizz it,s t he early game 12 45 kick of you should be OK VENTURA is the first ship to use the fully refurbished 105 berth MAYFLOWER TERMINAL go in at dock gate 20 through the CONTAINER TERMINAL follow VENTURA comes up on your right
Thanks will be good to see a brand new terminal.
-
what time they're playing? We're boarding Ventura at Mayflower terminal and setting off from Huddersfield. I suppose if the only time we get slow traffic is at Southampton though that's not too bad. We'll just make sure we get there for 1pm. Embarking time is 2pm.

 Hope not, I'm looking forward to a bit of gluttony :D
Sorry, I'll get me coat.
My last chance to be a glutton before another weight loss attempt :p sorry giggled at the spelling mistake.
I know you mean gluten free really; I've attempted it before in a lighthearted way as I'm not a coeliac or anything and just didn't bother with bread and it actually was easy to follow, so I may attempt it again after the cruise.

I'm on Ventura in two weeks! Will be stopping at Lisbon; we may DIY too as the only excursion I really want to do is on Guernsey.
-
Me and my sister are booked into one cabin and my dad and step mum in another. Its a single booking for all four of us but P&O have put me and my sister in together when my dad phoned up for the booking. We'll register separate credit cards.
-
I've seen the sky high internet prices and decided that for the week on Ventura in 2 weeks, I'm just going to forget about facebook and internet and enjoy the cruise. I can still play games on my tablet.
If we happen upon a cafe in Spain or Lisbon with wifi I might check my emails but that's about it.
-
I'm currently harbouring a cold/flu virus and never been near a cruise! working in an office is just as bad. Trying to get rid of it before the cruise on Ventura in 2 weeks.
-
I'm going to be in C637 Ventura balcony cabin which is towards the aft of the ship. I'll be doing a full review when I go on my cruise in 2.5 weeks so I'll tell you when I get back.
As I understand it the aft is better if you're in rough seas although I'm not sure how rough the seas have to be to feel them on Ventura
Best way of Staying in touch...
