Glad I'm a common American who just enjoys the relaxation of being at sea & yet love previewing places to visit on land vacations.

Hell has been made into a tourist stop but if you go to the back parking lot and to the back of that lot you can overlook the rock formations that give that bend in the road the name of Hell. Forget the gift shop & lame pictures.
If going to 7 mile beach, research where you want to be let off by a "taxi" or the overcrowded van. And give plenty of time to get back to the pier as they wait until the "taxi" is full & that includes the isle seats. And traffic can be very slow getting back to the port.
Shopping is friendly but no barging. Great Britain alcohol is a bargain. Rest not so much. Walk a few blocks inland & you may find more reasonable souvenirs.
Watch for cross traffic - they drive the other way.
If wanting to do an island tour or Stingray City, check out local tours on internet & the reviews.
Food prices are very high. Eat a big breakfast on board, carry factory packaged snacks, & eat lunch once back onboard.
Grand Cayman is my favorite port.

WIll do, thank you! Just booked air for Weds. Hard to find a late fight from here to Mobay. Have to take care of paperwork in the morning, so i wont be flying out of here until Weds at 7 am. I'll arrive in FLL then fly to Mobay, will be there at 11AM. then about an hour drive to FLLMTH.
Sending positive vibes that all goes well & you catch up with your family.

I have read on other threads and other internet sites that QU is stretching out the dining time so that there are slots from 4:30 PM to 9:30 PM. Would not want to eat dinner at either extreme especially 4:30 PM.
Well if it was a day that I slept in and had breakfast at 11:00, I could see doing lunch at 4:30 and dinner at 9:30.:D

This may not be a renovation to the Champagne Bar at all. It looks to me like they've set up an upholstery shop there. When we reflagged the Norwegian Sky to the Pride of Aloha, we set up the Outrigger bar with some large temporary power panels that fed 30 sewing machines and half a dozen band saws. There were two shifts of upholsterers using every one of those sewing machines for nearly 3 weeks.
This thread is very interesting and you have provided such great insight to all of us. Thank you so much!

While you may find it in good fun, some see it as lying. And some may see it as "what are you lacking in your real life that you have to make up stories", and then others who have actually been in that situation totally offensive that someone would claim that achievement when they hadn't earned it.
I personally find over & over that those that put on airs are only blowhards. But if that makes you feel better about yourself - go for it.

Like I use to tell my kids - Life's not fair, get over it.

That looks like good eating! I agree that the chefs have no clue how to make biscuits and gravy.

Love those sandwiches but then again when we lived in Germany our landlord was a baker. And we like our beef rare.

We like deck 6 mid for the easy access to the Boardwalk & Johnny Rockets for breakfast, Schnoor bar, one deck down to the Promenade & 2 decks up to Central Park. Plus the elevators going to the upper decks are rarely full when getting to deck 6.

I really have a problem with how fish heavy the menus are for the included venues.

Thought I saw it said Rotterdam? What country is that in?
Google it & give your son a lesson in geography.:D

For the smoker of whatever - make sure those around you hold the same values. I can tolerate more than my son, so don't rely on age.

It is so hard leaving that leftover steak that would be great with eggs the next morning. Hope the fish enjoy the cow.

We have always enjoyed the traditional dining option that has the same table mates, same servers, & same time. We also enjoyed the variety of specialty restaurants and yet did not like the MTD the one time we tried it on HAL. We also value sailing different lines for different experiences.
So now we have a group cruise booked on NOS with early traditional seating that will be with friends with all dinners in the MDR and another cruise 4 months later on Oasis. Just the 2 of us and want to try a few specialty restaurants.
Considering the differences in the ship's, group vs just us, & now the different dining experiences, we are looking forward to 2 very different cruises on the same cruise line. Kind of like having our cake & eating it too.:D

Read your book this weekend. May God give you and your family comfort during this trying time. And when we get to the other side we will be looking to you to guide us to the closest cruise port in heaven.

Wait it is just awful!!!
(Don't want it to become as popular in the mornings as the Park Cafe is on boarding day.)

So.....how again is a work place like a formal dining experience on a luxury cruise liner?
Just don't think Royal Caribbean is a luxury cruise liner. As I have aged, I realize that the feet are the first thing that need to be accommodated for comfort & most importantly safety & health. Really who looks at people's feet in a dinning room?

Did well - 31 Oct 15 Oasis in a balcony handicap on the hump saved $1,305 over today's price. Pretty close to half price.
-
Have done several cruises on both & most honest comparison is 7 day cruises out of Galveston. Have done 3 on Royal & 2 on Carnival. Honestly, we like the pools & entertainment better on Royal. Service & quality of food is about the same. Price goes to Carnival. It's the language of the Carnival passengers that give the nod to Royal.

We did this a few years ago & enjoyed it except for the boat ride to the mainland as that was a rough ride. It is a long day but worth it.
-
On our balcony with a bottle of champagne.
Same here - nothing better.

Sometimes I just want to get away from people but still be outside. It's OV or I'm not cruising.
