Go to the Renaissance Hotel on 17th Ave. They will hold your luggage for free. Take the Intercostal water taxi for a tour

Thanks all for your input.

Thinking an O transfer might be the easiest. From the ship to the bus............... no hefting luggage or running the gauntlet.

We will be arriving in Callao next year. Most flights depart Lima after midnight.
Since we have been there before, we do not plan on staying over, but will do our own air to SFO. Anyone have experience with this timing? How is the O program with transfers and day room? Any other words of wisdom?
Thanks
-
Is ezcheck available if you use your own air, and can you sign up for it aboard ship?
Thanks

I am flying out of FLL on 1/6/17. Any tips on the airport? I am doing my own air. Do they use normal check in procedures for AA, or do they check in aboard ship, or at an special place at the airport?

Thank you, but again, people who have been on board a long time are not the only ones who know not to worry about small things like olive count. Most rational people would not.
And, we can be on board for a short time and know what's important.
I may be taking things too personally, but every time I see the word "segmenter", I, and I'm sure many others who took segments of the world cruise, wonder about our behaviour on board!
I will try to stop being so sensitive, and hope to sail with you again!
I agree... there does seem to be a bit of a shoulder chip

Heard some bad weather is in store for Charleston. Are you affected?

Anyone on Regatta now? How is it after 2 days at sea?

I would hope i had a suite and my husband and take turns staying inside the cabin. i watch more 2 and 3 year olds on ship cry.. been on small ships for years- gee, a crying baby vs one that runs down halls, jumps in pools, think the lobby their playroom.. take a baby each time.. there are days i scream but easier.
I will stick with my earlier post regarding Nice, France
-
I posted this on another thread, but thought it appropriate here as well.
A few years ago we were in Nice, France. I noticed a large fenced area on the beach. In the "cage were children. Running free on the beach were dogs....................................perfect. Maybe O could try this!

Thanks for the great advice

There will be plenty of taxis outside the terminal to take you to LGA.
I am told that you have to cross the street and wait in a long line. Three ships in that day. That is why I thought a limo might be best. Comments?
-
Thanks, Will give them a try

Arriving Manhattan Sun am 9/18. Have a 12:40 flight out of LGA. O says the timing is ok. Best way to get to LGA? I am told Manhattan cruise terminal can be a zoo. Any limo recommendations?

Thanks for the information, we do have TSA Pre-Check and Global Entry. Plus also have very high status with airline and it will be on a Friday (not Saturday).

My gosh. Why fight it? Just go with the program and pack a pair or two of Dockers. They are lighter than jeans. Isn't all this ambiance the reason we choose O?

Whew, no need to get your panties in a bunch Hawaiidan. I was just giving my subjective opinion based on my previous cruising experience.
Let me provide a few positives to help ease your anxiety…
There were very few lines and access to just about everything was quick and easy.
Afternoon tea was very well run and probably the most well attended event onboard.
Our cabin steward was excellent.
Yes, needlepoint was well attended and enjoyed by many.
Embarkation was the easiest and quickest of any cruise we’ve taken.
The Captain’s reception was a wonderful event that included free drinks.
I was up between 5am-6am most mornings to look for wildlife. It was very refreshing and something I’d not seen on any other line that there was a self-serve espresso machine and fresh pastries available in Horizons at 5am. That was very nice. It’s actually where I met the loyal O cruiser who mentioned the décor being different than other O ships.
That should calm him down

Yes, but not in advance of the Cruise. The way that Oceania does their bookkeeping, OBC does not exist until the morning of the day when your voyage sets sail.
If you get onto the ship and space still remains in La Reserve, you will be able to use the OBC to secure the reservation.
I am impressed! Who ARE you, and where did you get thins incredible knowledge?
-
Thanks. Looking forward to your impression of there canal. There will probably be commentary from the bridge as you go through.

Should be exciting. New expansion locks open tomorrow. Any fanfare, discussion, preparation on board?

Er, sounds like you were reading from the Sandinistas' or some radical U.S. professor's propaganda screed. Somoza certainly was no prize, but he is long gone and Daniel Ortega and his Sandinistas were even worse for the country and strongly anti-U.S,, which is why President Reagan opposed them. The Sandinistas were and are essentially communist, and like their pals Fidel Castro and later Hugo Chavez attempted to subvert democracy and take permanent non-democratic control of Nicaragua. The economy collapsed and they were thrown out. No surprise that Nicaragua isn't doing very well economically, like every other communist or oppressive socialist state.
Daniel Ortega is still in power. How is the new Chinese canal coming along?
