  1. Hi again everyone. I posted a few pages back about traveling to the Bahamas with my Guide Dog.

I am still getting all the info zi need to get him in at ports, but I have a few general questions.

What did you do with your dog if you want to get in the pool/hot/tub/ocean?

I'm EXTREMELY concerned about Freeport and the fact that you have to take a cab to even get to a beach. I'm afraid we will get out of port and won't get back because no one will pick up a dog. Has this ever happened to anyone?

How would I go about finding out if excursions are dog accessible?

I don't want the fact that I am blind and have a service dog, to hold my family back. I kind of feel like it might though.

Also, has anyone by chance sailed the Carnival Fantasy? We do not have a handicapped room. Should I request to be moved to one? How did the staff react to your dogs?

Also, has anyone brought on their own potty box filler? I'm thinking of dirt/mulch. Will they allow this?

    Thanks so much!

  2. Do you have to return your glass to get another drink on the cheers program?

We can't decide if we should get it. I'm not a heavy drinker at all. My husband could drink 10 a day probably. He is a beer drinker. I don't think between the two of us, it will be worth it. I'm considering getting a a bottle of vodka and a bottle of Malibu rum from the Bon voyage program and then doing endless bubble for soda and juice, then mixing ourselves.

Do you get ANY juice without buying it or using bottomless bubble? What about continental breakfast?

  3. Will the new menus be introduced on the Fantasy by OCt 1st? Has it been announced yet? Is there a link to the current 5 day cruise menu or a link to the new 5 day cruise American menu?

We are having a hard time deciding if the Cheers! Package is worth it. I may drink 4 or 5 drinks a day, MAX. My husband is a beer drinker and could drink about 8 to 10 on a sea day and may 4 or 5 on a port day. I'm nervous that we are going to be bored on the ship and will end sitting around, playing cards, sipping drinks. I think we should get it, but it would be $500 just to drink! That's a hard pill to swallow. We have kids so we won't be hammered. We do have In-laws coming with us who would happily keep an eye on our littles though. What is your experience?

Recent Fantasy travelers, where is a good spot to set up and play cards? I'm thinking the very top deck. The kids can minigolf while we play. Does it get really crowded up top?

  4. Thank you so mymuch!

I'd there any specific vaccines needed for the Bahamas?

I read somewhere that there is paperwork that I have to fill out for The Bahamas? Some type of importation paperwork. I'd this true? Where can I find it?

So basically, I get a health certificate, rabies vax, user ID, and what else? We don't have a city dog liscense. I have a signed contract of ownership but the only identification I have is a picture ID issued from The Guide Dog Foundation.

I was also wondering if I could bring on a bag of mulch/dirt for the potty box. Carnival uses pallets and I'm just bot sure Kermit will use them. He uses concrete and grass on command.

  5. Hi everyone. I'm not the boards and this thread. I tried searching the thread but wasn't seeing what I needed.

We are cruising on Carnival to the Bahamas with my Guide dog. I called carnival's guest services but they were no help in finding out what vaccinations and paperwork I need and where to get the paperwork from. We have never cruised before so I'm so confused on animal laws.

I had contacted the USDA but got no answers. Where do I start? Who do I call to get the paperwork and info. We are stopping at Freeport and Nassua.

Also, I'm worried about cabs and restaurants. I'm worried we won't get a cab because of my dog. What are the laws and General attitudes towards service dogs in the Bahamas? Thanks guys!!!!

  6. Hi!

I am blind and will be traveling with my Guide Dog. We are traveling to Freeport and Nassua in the Bahamas. I am trying to find out what documents the ports will need for me to bring the dog off the ship. Does anyone know this or have a link where information can be found? Also, how is public transportation handled? Are dogs allowed in cabs? I'm concerned about excursitions off the ship. Thank you!

  7. Hello! We are taking our first cruise on the Fantasy Oct 1. It's a 5 day Bahamas cruise. We have never been cruising and we are taking a smaller ship, so info about that particular ship is limited. So, I just have a few questions for those that have traveled on the Fabtasy. 😊

    1. We aren't huge drinkers but we are looking forward to some beers and cocktails. Are the bar packages worth it? What is the average price of a drink? My husband likes beer (not domestics, more premium) and I'm a Piña Colada and fruit liqueur drinker. What is price of the unlimited bar drinks?

    2. Same for soda package and price per soda.

    3. What is included as far as food goes. We are set for 6pm dining so I know that's included. How does breakfast and lunch work? How about the bistro with coffee and breakfast food? Do you swipe your card at meals and you only get three a day (kind of like Disney?) or is it unlimted food? My kids like graze, so I'm a bit nervous.

Specifically to the Fantasy... How bad can you feel the ship move? I'm very nervous about sea sickness and honestly, I'm a little nervous at her size. She is quite small and an older ship. For anyone who has been on during a storm, how bad does it really get? I'm so excited but this is my number fear for the cruise. Really rough seas. Silly I know.

    4. How quick is boarding and in boarding? We plan to be at the port by 11:30. We aren't in a rush to get off the boat, but we are generally curious?

    5. Any tips, secrets, advice? We are going with Me (28), DH (28), dS1 (8), ds2 (5), Mil (56), and Sil (25). Our ports are Freeport and Nassua. Any advice on excursitions?

Thank you all so much for your advice ahead of time.
