Cool Cruiser

Cool Cruiser (2/15)

  1. Great review. I was on same sailing (was also at the Easter mass) and had a great time too. Never ate in specialty dining, had original cabin (infinite balcony) on deck 6 (I loved the location) and could always find something to eat in MDR or buffet. Ship was clean, crew was super helpful, lots to do. I traveled solo (I highly recommend as I made life-long friends this trip) which colors the experience different than if I had kids or my spouse with me. Entertainment was highlight for me - Uptown, Jason Ostroski, comedian and special shout out to Leah Canali plus the the production crews in theater and Caravan/Eden were great. Nice mix of port and sea days. Never got to the pool but hit gym instead several times - well-equipped and great views. Did the behind the scenes ship tour which on other ships in the past has been free...enjoyed it. If you don't want to pay for the tour, they also had navigation officer give a free talk on the last sea day that was very interesting. There is something for everyone on this ship - don't sweat the small stuff and enjoy!
  2. We were there last August and really enjoyed it. We did the free walking tour (if you hunt around in the boards you can find it -- tour was an hour and a half and you tip whatever you feel the tour was worth). I highly recommend the tour as we learned so much about Visby. Wander around town and if you go out one of the gates there is a shopping area with a McDonald's, Flying Tiger (great for inexpensive gifts) and a bunch of other stores.
  3. There are two ways to get into town walking which I didn't realize at the time - initially, we just followed everyone else - the uphill/over the metal staircase. However, on the way back, I walked along the water, past all the huge ferries - it was flat the entire way and you did not need to go over the metal staircase. We took a walking tour (look in the Visby thread as more info on this tour is there) - about an hour and a half and learned all about the history. Really enjoyed our day there.
