  1. Port Canaveral is super easy!!! FYI, get a porter to help you get your luggage to your car, cost you the price if a tip. We usually give $15-$20 dollars for 3-4 bags. Reasoning, it gets you through Customs in a matter of minutes, they have a separate line they go through. EASY PEASY

Good to know!!! But don't tell anyone else!! We'll keep that a secret..shhhhhh

  2. Need to remember the number on your tag. Your luggage will be placed according to its number, under or near the number sign.

Sometimes luggage gets misplaced or the tag falls off.

Is this a tag given at debarkation time? Luggage tags for EMbarkation only have our room number, and booking number. Sailing out of Port Canaveral.

    Thanks.

  3. If you are talking about Port of Miami...it is the same as getting your luggage off a carousel at an airport...you are given a number....your bags are tagged with the same number and you go to that carousel to pick them up.

Thanks. Back in 2000, it was Miami, and there was no carousel at that time, or maybe just that ship, Triumph. Next week is Port Canaveral.

    thanks again.

  4. From Carnival website:

    CHEERS! BEVERAGE PROGRAM

Using the CHEERS! beverage program, guests can enjoy a wide variety of wine, beer and spirits (including cocktails and frozen drinks), along with sodas and non-alcoholic frozen cocktails throughout the voyage at one convenient flat rate plus a 15% gratuity added at the time of purchase of the program. The CHEERS! beverage program is optional however, if guests choose to purchase it, all guests 21 years of age and older in the same stateroom must also purchase it.

The cost of CHEERS! is $49.95 per person/per day. Applicable gratuities are additional. Price adjustments (up or down) implemented on the day of sailing will replace any previously advertised price.

    Please Note:

Due to Texas State laws, we cannot sell CHEERS! until the second day of the cruise for voyages departing from our Texas home ports.

CHEERS! is not offered on 2 day cruises, charter cruises, on ships sailing from Australia (Carnival Spirit and Carnival Legend) and beverage purchases made at Half Moon Cay and Little Stirrup Cay in The Bahamas.

Guests can sign up for CHEERS! on board at the Atrium Bar, Casino Bar or at the mid ship pool area bar. CHEERS! cannot be purchased prior to the cruise.

  5. The hangers are sort of weird though - they are all attached at the top. If you don't mind the extra weight in your bags, bring some.

Thanks. We have plastic hangers, and will be driving to the port. Luggage has wheels, so weight is not a problem.

  6. ....and usually bring the following (keep in mind I don't fly and don't bring the entire house ...

    a few pair of underwear

    2 pair of socks

    5-6 pair swim trunks

    5-10 t-shirts (including undershirts)

3 tank tops (don't go to the buffet shirtless, regardless of how good you look)

    4 pair gym shorts

    2 pair Tennis shoes

    3-4 pair of flip flops

    I don't dress up

soap and shampoo (I use what is on the boat)

Fins, goggles and a snorkel (don't like renting and prefer my own)

Backpack (to carry stuff on and off the ship)

What I could realistically bring would be just seven pair of swim shorts and slim down on everything else as I find myself getting up in the morning, putting on a pair, getting breakfast and hanging out on the decks until dinner time. The only time I wear the casual stuff is when it is raining.

Pretty much same, but I edited down for my tastes. I'm retired, hate wearing long pants, don't own a white shirt, and only wear sport coats or suits and neck ties to weddings and funerals. Thanks goodness I never had to wear any of that for work.

  7. About 8 blocks to Bourbon and Canal Street......edge of French Quarter. About 12 blocks to Bourbon bars. New Orleans is not a city to get lost in while walking. And never bet anyone that they can tell you where you got your shoes. You got them On your feet !!
