  1. Sounds like it's possibly a one off situation with Southwest 4 hour baggage check. We'll try Port Valet for the 21st and see what happens. Could be pleasantly surprised with it working out. If it doesn't,  at least we'll be prepared.

We appreciate the heads up either way. 🙂

  2. We don't really want another Princess excursion. We've been to Seattle a couple of times so were just going to head to the Market area and stroll around for a while before getting a taxi to the airport. Southwest Airline website says can't check bags more than 4 hours prior to flight so thinking we'll see if the airport has lockers for our bags and try to find something else to do for 5 hours. 🙂

  3. Will be cruising on the Majestic next week and had planned on using Port Valet for baggage at end of our cruise. We have a late afternoon flight out of Seattle and thought it would be great to let Port Valet take care of our baggage for our flight on Southwest Airline. Another member of Cruise Critic posted on the Alaska board that they were denied Port Valet because Southwest does not let you check baggage more than 4 hours prior to flight. I checked the Southwest website and did in fact find that information. So we will be sitting at the airport for hours be fore we can even check our bags in. Kind of bummed about that but at least we know ahead of time.

  4. Thank you for sharing the Southwest rules. Am cruising next week and was planning to use Port Valet in Seattle also. After searching the Southwest website I was finally able to find that same information.  They will not accept checked bags more than 4 hours prior to your flight. Doesn't leave time for sightseeing since you have to be back to airport 2 hours prior to boarding.

Thank you again. It's good to know this ahead of time.

  5. We ordered ours a month out. You have to order at least 13 days before or it's too late for it to be mailed to you. If you don't receive it before you leave for your cruise it's OK. You would then just get in the blue lane to embark the ship. Only takes a few extra minutes for them to get you a new one or check you in then send you to guest services once on board to get it.

  6. First time cruising with Princess. We're taking the Princess transfer from SeaTac to Pier 91. I am wondering if once our baggage is tagged and put on the bus will they take care of it from there or do we have to take it from the bus to the terminal at Pier 91? Also has it been a long wait at SeaTac for the transfer? Thank you for any responses.

  7. I know. We're still tossing the idea around. If I buy it now, and they are only giving the option for a credit card, then I can pay it off before we even go and have a finite amount to spend while on the cruise. I would like to have it all paid before we go and not have to carry a large sum of money to the ship. So just wondering.

  8. I was thinking about ordering a small package of the water for our upcoming cruise to have for when we go on excursions. This is the first I heard about the added gratuity to buy a package of water.

I'll bring a couple of empty bottles as others have suggested and fill them on the ship.

    Ridiculous fees!
