    Hello

    AFAIK, yes you have to.

Every day and it means only allowance to entry, not to book a seat.

Seat works, first to arrive, first to choose.

five minutes before show everyone without booking can entry

You mean if we don't pre-book seats prior to shows, we can't just arrive at theater 15 - 20 minutes early, without pre-booking, they won't let us in until 5 minutes before show?

  2. What's the cost of these dive shops?

I'm looking at just going with Celebrity's ship excursion:  Small Group Dive Tour, with all equip, $156 USD

Also, any recommendations for Bonnaire & Curacao, since there's no ship sponsored dive excursions there...

    Thanks,

  3. Being from Houston, over half of our 35+ cruises are from Galveston.  & being a scuba diver, love that I can dive all the Cozumel, Belize, Roatan ports.

Also, having 4 terminals will increase competition between the cruise lines to better service, more ports, & maybe lower pricing.

Hopefully MSC will bring new innovation to cruising out of Galveston...

  4. A fourth cruise terminal is officially coming to Galveston in 2025 for $100M

Galveston Wharves announced it has finalized its deal with MSC Cruises on a fourth cruise terminal set to cost $100 million in the Port of Galveston.

The 165,000-square-foot terminal, along with a $42 million parking garage and internal roadway, is projected to open late in 2025.

"We’re excited about this mutually beneficial public-private partnership," Galveston Wharves Port Director and CEO Rodger Rees said in a statement. "Adding MSC to our family of cruise lines offers our cruise guests an elegant, European-style family cruise experience. It also elevates our status as a top U.S. cruise home port and moves us up to the eighth largest cruise port in the global market, while paving the way for MSC to reach millions of cruise passengers in the Central U.S."

The negotiations for the fourth terminal have been in the works since at least 2022. It will fill the space previously occupied by Del Monte Fresh Produce Co., which left the terminal for Freeport.

The agreement between Galveston and MSC Cruises lasts for 20 years with the potential for four additional five-year extensions. MSC Cruises, which is the third-largest cruise brand in the world, has been focused on North American expansion and this move helps with those plans.

The brand told Travel + Leisure it plans on operating seven-day trips out of the port starting in November 2025. Customers can buy tickets now for seven-day trips to Costa Maya, Mexico, Isla de Roatan, Honduras, and Cozumel, Mexico starting at $439. The first listed departure date is Nov. 9, 2025.

"A great cruise starts with a top-notch terminal, and we’re excited to partner with the Galveston Wharves to ensure our guests enjoy the experience from end to end," MSC Cruises USA President Rubén A. Rodríguez said in a statement. "We think it’s important to support the communities we serve and look forward to working with leaders in Galveston to make this project a reality."

  5. We'll be sailing on our very first cruise on MSC, Euribea, in April '24.  Fully paid Deluxe Balcony on Deck 9.

Just received email from MSC to bid for these upgrades:

MSC YACHT CLUB Deluxe Suite, From $1,185 USD pp
MSC YACHT CLUB Interior Suite, From $230 USD pp
Suite Aurea with Terrace and Whirlpool,  From $460 USD pp
Premium Suite Aurea, From $230 USD pp

We're not too familiar with these programs/upgrades.  We're traveling with 30 other friends & family, so maybe Yatch Club is out, but not sure if Aurea is worth it...

  6. Been printing out tags in B&W.

    Never a problem.

But I've read on the internet (so it must always be true!) that if you print out wrong color than ship's official color, your luggage will be delivered to a different cruise ship... 😉

  7. Since we've already booked to dive Roatan thru Carnival earlier in the cruise, now maybe looking at going to Chankanaab park in Cozumel, relax, & doing a One tank dive there, thru MJ's dive shop.

Priced at $50 - $60 for the One tank, so not bad.

Does anyone knows if MJ's is located right there inside Chankanaab park, & do we need to pre-book with MJ's or just show up?

    Thanks,

We have thermal area passes ourselves, so will see what I can get if it’s not too crowded. One of those areas where I wouldn’t be comfortable pulling our the camera if others were around…

    Great.

No pictures needed, lots of videos already avail online, but just your opinions & reviews of the thermal areas.

    Thanks,

  9. We also remember sailing on the Jubilee back in Feb 2003.  We now have the new Jubilee booked for Jan 2024.  Also remember hitting golf balls & skeet shooting from the fantail back then.  Our 2 kids back then loved spending the entire day in the kids clubs, while we're relaxing on the pool deck & occasional stints up top on the topless deck area, where there's no chair hogs up there.  Loved the midnight buffets & no-charge room service.  Our group of friends were not smokers at home, but do like to light up a few cigars while on vacations, so missed the indoor cigar lounges & opened up the entire aft end of balcony cabins / aft deck cigars smokers, including cigars under the stars events with the Captain...

  10. Have always dived in Cozumel on all of our previous cruises.

Will be sailing on the brand new Carnival Jubilee in Jan 2024 (ship's first sailing is Dec 23, 2024).  It currently list Roatan as the only avail scuba diving excursion.

But doesn't have certified diving excursion for Cozumel.

So wondering if Carnival really dropped diving Cozumel entirely, or it's just too early for Carnival to list/schedule since it hasn't started sailing, & maybe add Cozumel diving soon/later?

For those who has cruise other Carnival ships with stops in Cozumel lately, do they have diving excursions in Cozumel currently?

    Thanks,

  11. Added offer to my Business Gold card, but it's not avail on my wife's personal gold card.

We have $400 final payment due in Sept, so if we charge $1000 to Carnival, will the $600 excess goes to OBC, & will that be refundable back after the cruise if we don't use it all ...?

    Thanks,

Not been on here yet buy the Euribia is probably like Grandiosa and Virtuosa which have a cigar lounge on deck 18 near the sky lounge.

That Deck 18 cigar lounge is outdoors, correct?

  13. I'm not a smoker at home, but do like to light up a few cigars while on vacation.  Will be on our very first MSC cruise next year, on the Euribia, out of Rotterdam/Amsterdam.

So how many outside smoking areas, besides Deck 18 as mentioned above, are available for cigar smokers?

Does MSC has an indoor cigar lounge?

    Thanks,

  14. On our previous 30+ ocean cruises, on embarkation day, the ship always depart around 5pm.  Thus, we've always had assigned embarkation times between 11am - 12pm.

We're booked on our first MSC cruise, on the Euribia for next April 2024, departing from Rotterdam.  Schedule says it departs at 8pm, & embarkation time is 5pm.

We're arriving Amsterdam airport at 6 am, then taking the One hour train ride down to Rotterdam, so hopefully we'll arrive port in the early morning hours.

Question is, is there a way for us to drop off our luggages that early in the morning, then spend a few hours on our own to do some sightseeing around Rotterdam city, then come back to check in at 5pm.  Also, will they allow us to board earlier than 5pm?

Last year, we boarded Holland America Rotterdam ship in Rotterdam.  We stayed at Amsterdam airport hotel, went back to AMS airport to take HAL's bus transfer/transport from airport to Rotterdam cruise port.  Easy.

Looking forward to our first MSC cruise...

  15. We got confirm the next day, to Gold status.

Notified our TA, then he informed us:

"$50 of onboard credit per person will be applied to the account once you board the ship.

But it turns out you save more money on the Military discount!

This is because your Voyager's Club membership would get you a 5% discount off the total + another 5% discount of the price, rather than just a full 10% discount that the Military discount gets you for booking a Balcony cabin or above. The difference was something like $6 I believe.

Rest assured you got the best price available!"
