  1. I have sailed from NOLA twice and I suggest you get there at your check in time. They will not let you in if you are early and it is too hot to be sitting outside. The waiting room get crowded pretty fast because it is not as large as other waiting areas. They try to be very organized and sit you by zone so that helps with Embarkation remaining organized until everyone tries to rush the front like the ship is leaving immediately. But they have line movers to keep the line organized since you have to plug your card into one of several machines before you can even walk on the gangway. Without FTTF lines will seem long but they move fast as can be expected for NOLA (Big Easy). Enjoy your cruise and bring your patience.

  2. I cruised Triumph August 2016 with a group of friends for our 50th birthday trip. It was busy with children who were well behaved and a few who were out of control running everywhere but I blame the adults who refuse to parent their children. They expect the ship to monitor their children while they do whatever they want. There is no Serenity Area on this ship but we did frequent places the children could not go, like Alchemy Bar, Adult only comedy show and the later evening shows in the large theater. The bartenders at the Alchemy Bar will help you celebrate as well just let them know what you wish to do and they are great. Using late dinner also helped avoid them. Several friends are police officers and they just had enough of their running and got a hold of a couple of kids by the pool who were running and knocking food and drinks out of peoples hands and had to go find their parents with them because enough was enough. We don't go on vacation for such foolishness. Out of New Orleans is a nice cruise just find your adult spots and celebrate there. Good Luck!!!

  3. Head to my cabin to drop off my bag (Fttf is a must if not platinum), head to grab a good burger and a refreshing cocktail. Then we find a good seat at the lobby bar to watch everyone come on the ship. About 1ish I take a nap before the emergency drill. Then I'm refreshed for the rest of the night!!!

Mornings after I've ordered room service (the bagels, smoked salmon n cream cheese, hot coffee with rum chatta are fantastic) sit on the balcony and watch the world go by without a care in the world!!! Maybe I'll go to the gym once or twice but not everyday.

  4. If some of you have FTTF and some of you don't you will be boarding separately regardless of your checkin time. All FTTF is allowed to board before those without. If the boarding picture is really important to you those that have FTTF will have to hang back and board with those in your group that don't have it. So the earlier checkin time the better. IMO it would be better for all to have FTTF or the ones that have it are missing out on one of the better perks.

Thank you. I suggested to those 2 cabins that done have it to get it. We will see what they do. I got Fttf so I wouldn't have to wait all day to board so if they don't have zone 1,2 or 3 then I guess our picture will have to wait. Thanks again.

  5. I am sailing on Triumph in 27 days and very excited to be cruising out of NOLA. There are 10 of us flying in from all over the country 2 days prior to sailing for some Nola fun in the French Quarter. We all will be celebrating our 50th birthday and we are trying to figure out some logistics for our stay in Nola and getting on the ship. Some of us have Fttf and others don't but we want to try and embark together to take a few group pictures and have our lunch and lido party together. I have a few questions.

If you stayed in Nola prior to your cruise:

what hotel did you use and how did you all get to the cruise terminal? (Walking is not an option. 10 woman 5 cabins is at least 20 pieces of luggage) we are thinking uber, shuttle, limo or taxi. Which is best.

Do you suggest the early arrival time (10am) to be able to stay together for embarkation?

Also, What time did you arrive at the terminal and approximately how long was it from bag drop to boarding the ship??

Any information from anyone who recently cruised from Nola can provide would be appreciated. Thanks

  6. I am glad you had a great time and thanks for the food review. I will be sailing in August on same ship and I am so excited!!!

Where was your cabin and how did you like it?

Wondering also what excursions you did, if any and how would you rate them?

Not really a big excursion person, (just love to ships and cruising) but my niece is going with me this time and I want to let her explore a few islands.

Thanks again for your review and I look forward to any additional information you may have about the ship and excursions. :):)

  7. I just booked Faster to the Fun on the Carnival Magic. Does this reflect on my luggage tags? I went to look at them and I don't see anything on there. Also when I show up in Galveston will I go through a seperate security line? Thank you

On your passes you will see a really small FTTF logo and on the sides it will have F2F on it. Give it about 48 hours after purchase then reprint your luggage tags. If you have a color printer it will print based on the color of your deck.

    Enjoy you trip!!

  8. Kim,

You are by far one of the best at giving reviews. I love reading your reviews and I get more and more excited about my upcoming cruise in August on the Liberty out of San Juan. I was in tears laughing once Atomic Dog came on because I knew exactly what was going to happen. I am surprised not more of them showed up in that picture. Keep the pictures coming and I am on edge waiting for the rest of this review. Thank you

Question: What kind of phone is that? Did you take all of your pictures with your phone?
