  1. OP- Do what makes you comfortable. I have done both without a problem. I do take into account what time of year I am traveling, where I am traveling to, and the cost of an overnight stay.

This upcoming trip (August 2015) is my first cruise out of San Juan and I was nervous about thunderstorms, hurricane season, etc. so I chose to travel the day before. There is a large group of us, about 40 people, most chose to travel the day of the cruise since it leaves at 10pm but about 6 of us will be traveling that day before on a night flight out of EWR arrives in SJU about midnight. We booked one room just to lay our head and freshen up before we board the ship the next day. It keeps me from having anxiety attacks and fussing all damn day and give us a chance (36 hours or so), if needed, to get to the ship without missing it just in case we have delays.

Like I said do what makes you comfortable. Grab a few friends and get a room the night before and rest easy. Just my 2 cents!!! Enjoy your cruise.:D:D:D

  2. Your review is great!! Loving all the details and pictures help me a great deal. I am going on Lady Liberty in August and I am SOOOOOOOOOO EXCITED!!!! Ok I know you all have jobs and stuff to do but please hurry with the rest. I am waiting anxiously!!!! :):):)

Question: What deck was your room and how did you like the access you had to the rest of the ship from your room? (Elevators access, crowds, etc)

  3. cruisexlife,

your review has me so excited. I am so ready to go on this ship. Just paid my balance today. Thank you so much for giving me everything I need for Lady Liberty. Preparing my air to arrive in the wee hours of the morning so I was wondering if there is anything to do at 5am. I was going in the day before but the airfare was strange and times not good for me.

    Again thanks!!

  4. Zach1213 I am just looking for myself. Once I find something I will let the others know what I have found. I was looking for non-stop since I hate going up and down on flights. But I may need a few cocktails and suck it up if it is cost effective. 6rugrats if I can go out of newark that is better then I won't have to pay for airport parking. Thank you both for the suggestions

  5. We have a girlfriends cruise coming up in August (23-30) On Carnival Liberty out of San Juan. We are currently looking for airfare out of the NYC area and we can't seem to find anything under $470-500. We have gone to PR in the past (2013) during this time of year and flights are usually much cheaper because it is hurricane season but this year seems to be something strange going on with the skyrocketing prices. Should we wait and hope that airfare comes down or should we just look to pay $500 for a r/t flight?:confused::confused:
