I think I'll go back to land based trips.

Obviously you do not know how to cruise

  2. Thanks for the review, The Victory is one of my favorites for a short cruise! Will be on her on 11/11, did they have a Latin band on board on your cruise, and was your room remolded? We have an ocean view on the second deck. Thx.

We were on the Victory Sept 8th, the Latin band was Sabor Habanero they were awesome... We also had a great cruise

  3. We always just got off the Victory this morning. We had an inside cabin on deck 6 our cabin has not been renovated, but it was always clean and smelled refreshed. Our cabin Stewart Randall was great he always had a bucket of ice in the morning and at night. We had YTD our server team was amazing, Ionut, Juan and I Made were fabulous Imwould ask for their section each night. The food was amazing in the Dining Room. Me had breakfast in the Dining Room every morning and it was so good. All the pools were working and clean. I did read lots of relative reviews, yes the ship is outdated, but super clean and the crew was very attentive to anything you needed. I would definitely recommend the Victory.

  4. A week ago I did the Thurs-Sun cruise. The movies were: The Intern, Daddy's Home, Captain America: Civil War, The Jungle Book, Deadpool, Kung Fu Panda 3 and Zootopia.

Thanks for the info, also have you heard about a Electric White Dress party.

  5. I never experienced a sewer smell. Which is something I was worried about as well. We were in cabin 1325 Riviera Deck and had no issues. My cabin steward was beyond incredible. He remembered our names and went above and beyond to satisfy us.

As far as food, the dining room was amazing. We had steak and lobster on elegant night, and it was superb. You do have to pay a $20 surcharge for lobster, but well worth it. The desert offering was to die for.

Our dinner servers were very good as well. Remember you can order as much as you would like at Dinner. No problem at all. The dancing waiters were so much fun.

The buffet on the Lido deck was a little disappointing though. The quality just wasn't up to par at lunch. We had breakfast at the buffet and it was pretty good, hash browns were stiff though. The omelette stations were very good. Lines do get long. Remember omelettes have to cook so that counts for long lines. If you are an early riser, that's the best time to get to breakfast. Beat the crowds.

The pizza station at the aft pool was so good as well as the grill station by the lido pool. Burgers were very tasty and properly cooked.

Overall, our experience on Victory was very good. I would go again tomorrow if I could.

Lots of fun things to do, staff was very professional and helpful. The artic night club was a blast. The serenity adult retreat was a very welcome spot away from the hundreds of children onboard. And the bartenders pour heavy and will get you drunk real quick.

Good comedy acts, karaoke was hilarious and I totally stole the show at the hairy chest contest on last sea day. Marcelo was our cruise director and he is great.

I could go on and on about how much we enjoyed our cruise.

Check out the love and marriage game on the last sea day. Absolutely hilarious. They pick the newest couple, the longest married couple and a couple that has been married about half as long aa the longest married couple. Lots of fun. I don't gamble, so I couldn't tell you a thing about the casino action.

Remember, things do happen and yoi have to take some things with a grain of salt. If you go to relax and have a good time you will. If you going to be pampered, you may be disappointed.

You must do the poolside movie one night. Very relaxing. Kanisha is one of the best staffers onboard. She is so much fun and will do her best to.make sure you have fun.

If you can avoid guest services, please do. That is by far the worst experience. Lines tend to get very long and move very slow. Especially on final day when folks want to dispute charges because they overspent.

I hope I was helpful and I hope you enjoy yourself. We had a ball !!

Hi ShadyRags a co worker of mine is leaving this Sunday on the Victory do you recall the movies they were playing also was there any special events going on like dress up night or something

  6. Thank you so much for your comments they were very helpful. We have cruised Carnival for a while now and will continue to do so. My only concern was that people kept on mentioning the sewer smell other than that I know we will have a great time. Glad you guys had fun. If you haven't been on the Magic try and sail that ship is it amazing.... As far as breakfast my husband is a very early riser usually he will be in line waiting for the omelette station to open.... He say that a cruise vacation is to enjoy the ship not sleep the entire time.... We will be going for his birthday, we sail Sept 8th than in Dec 8th we will be doing the Valor...

  7. Biguy the same thing happened to me when I was thinking on going on the Sunshine because of paying attention to those reviews we didn't go when we had it planned, but a year later we decided to try it anyways and let me tell you it was a fantastic cruise no sewage smell like they had posted... Remember a lot of these people that post these reviews either are never happy or most of them have never even being on a cruise and they just post to make people pissed off and not sail on Carnival....

We sail on Sept 8th and can't wait. I never pay any attention to those who give any cruise a bad review most of those people probably don't even have a life and that's all they do go on cruises to give them bad reviews. I go and read the CDC inspection report that is done every six months by the health department on every cruise ship. The Victory was inspected in April and got a 100%. Yes it's an older ship, but as long as it's well maintained who cares how old it is.

  9. Be prepared to wait and be packed in like SARDINES before you board unless you have FTTF or are Platinum +!!!! We just got back on Sunday from a 3 day Victory cruise! We arrived at port at about 11 and quickly got thru security and received our S&S cards. We were in Zone 4 to board but still had to wait about 30-45 mins before we were able to board. I have been on several 3-4 day cruises but never in the summer! IT WAS SO PACKED EVERYWHERE we went on the ship!!! Our room was located on deck 2 and was fully updated!!! VERY VERY NICE!!!!!!!! I was super impressed with the updates!!!

Thanks for the review. Did you notice if deck 6 had been updated

  10. I'm sailing in just 2 days. I'm wondering about boarding and how early they are starting boarding. I know there were delays as they were sprucing up rooms but that is supposed to be done by now. I live 90 minutes away from the port and want to get started as early as possible, especially since it's such a short cruise.

We never purchase FTTF, we arrive by 10 and are always onboard before noon

  11. In quite a dilemma now as its getting close to payment date. The reviews are getting worse. Sewage smell across the whole ship !!! Had to move cabin on the Grandeur of the Seas a couple of years ago for same reason. We were wrenching every time we went in bathroom and the smell was all down one side of the R Bar. Been on 8 Cruises and only had this problem once . Has anyone else noticed this on the Victory.? Wandering whether to cut our loses and lose deposit ?

I wouldn't cancel the cruise, the same thing I kept on reading about the Sunshine. I even wanted to cancel the cruise they were such horrible reviews including sewage smell. My husband didn't want to cancel he said we will deal with any issues that occurs. Glad we didn't cancel had an awesome time and no sewage smell or bathroom clogs and all of staff was excellent. It was such a fantastic cruise that we are booked again on the Sunshine for next year and we will be sailing the Victory on September 8th....

  12. I have been on both Magic & Conquest. Conquest during a lower-demand time, a few hundred short of full capacity, and Magic during a very high-demand time, with nearly every single bed filled. Despite that, Conquest felt more crowded to me than Magic, and Conquest seemed to have much longer lines. On Magic, I would eat lunch at the peak time of noon-12:30, and there would hardly be any line at all. Some spots can get crowded at times, but no different than Conquest. The only bad thing about Magic was that on that week, groups of people would send 1 person up to the decks to stand guard of 30-40 deck chairs, keeping them all reserved for their group all day. I literally couldn't get a chair anywhere on the ship for hours on a couple days. Worst chog experience ever, but that wasn't because of the ship.

You are not allowed to save any chairs, so if that would have happened to me I would have just sat down on a chair....

  13. We have not cruised before and are trying to narrow down which ship to pick. We are planning for Feb 2018. Since we have not cruised before I am sure we would be happy with any of the three. We live in Ontario Canada so we aren't to concerned with where we would be leaving from. We will likely drive either way because we are a family of 6 and flights will be just to expensive. According to google maps New Orleans is the closest port to us at about 18 1/2 hours. Port Canaveral is roughly 21 hours for the magic, and Miami for the Vista about 24 hours. The Vista cruise is a 6 night and the other 2 are 7 nights so that is a factor.

The dream looks nice. There are just 2 things holding me back on it. One is it doesn't have a ropes course. The other is that it doesn't have Guys burgers. I really wanted to try that. I believe Dream is going into drydock in 2017 so I guess it could get Guys then.

The Magic checks off all of my boxes. It goes into dry dock soon to get a face lift.

The Vista is well, Vista. I looks amazing. It also has interior connecting rooms that the other 2 don't which can save us some cash. But it is the longest drive and 1 night shorter of a cruise.

I am just not sure where my priorities should be when picking ships. We aren't to concerned with the ports we would stop at, we haven't been to any of them..

    What do you experts think???

    Magic hands down.....
