We danced at Torshavn and the Atrium. Music a variety but mainly disco type. Had a great time. The entertainment was also fabulous!!

Thank you. Was your cabin above the theater? Was it a V1 cabin or a DV6?

We were in cabin 3029, a DV6. Nice because we took the stairs all the time and we were close to them. With all the food available, we needed that extra walking. It was a marvelous trip and we have been on a few.

Looking for information from those who have been on the Viking Star with cabins on deck 3. Looking to find out if there is much noise from Deck 2....... the restaurant in the back or the theater in the front. If there is noise can you please specify if it is early, late or both.

We were on floor three and experienced no noise whatsoever from the theatre.

Just went thru this and it is West Coast (Calif. time). I live in Northern Calif. and got on at exactly 12:01 midnight. Tried 11:59 and it wouldn't let me in, so I logged out of MVJ and came back on at midnight. My friend didn't log out in exact see thing and he kept getting blocked until he logged out and came back in. Good luck. We are on the Star Viking Homeland cruise sailing on July 10 from Stockholm. I got all 3 of the "freebie" tours and all 3 of the paid tours we wanted, and at the times we wanted. We have booked private tours for Tallinn, St. P, Warnemunde, Copenhagen, Stavanger, and Flam. My friends were equally successful. Good luck!!

We were on Viking Homelands last Aug. Although the Star had a technical problem and we had to dock in Estonia for several days and miss a few ports, we had a fabulous time.

Wee are booked with Viking for Sept 2017. Will watch for your reviews!!

We will be stopping at Paris airport for just over 2 hours. Should we buy wine there or is there wine for sale in Stockholm airport when we land?

Possibly already mentioned but is there body lotion in the cabin? Thanks!

Thanks jkerr. We will use the Flybussen to the airport. Apparently we get 25% off the shuttle price with a hotel receipt.

Can anyone tell us what hotel Viking Homeland Cruise uses for their Bergen/Oslo post extension in Oslo?

Also we will be on our own after that as we fly to Amsterdam for the Viking River Rhine Getaway cruise. Does anyone know the cost of the shuttle or taxi from hotel to airport? Thanks!!!

Maybe we can get a cc rep on our trip? Guess that won't happen so John and I are up to anytime you suggest. I do agree that sailing time is not the best but just after that is fine. We are in cabin 3029 and will be transferring from the airport to the ship July 25th. We fly from Toronto to Paris to Stockholm so will be tired but that's OK. 43 days to go!!!!!!

Thanks for the heads up. We are normally cautious but will leave anything behind that is not needed in St Petersburg and keep our possessions close at hand while touring.

Here, here, I agree, great post!!! There are always those that are negative, we strive to find those that are positive!! 46 days until we fly to Stockholm!! Can't wait!

Thanks so much for the video. Only 52 days to go. Looks better than the original video. Hopefully some of the 'bugs' will be ironed out when we board the Star in Stockholm. Can't wait!

Wish I had paid for the excursions that were in my shopping cart. I waited a week and 2 were sold out so we had to choose 2 others. Disappointed as I didn't know how long we had to wait to pay. Everything is now paid. :)

I have noticed a few folks using tour companies for 2 days in St Petersburg July 28 and 29th. Since we didn't get a couple of the tours we wanted, we have decided to try to hook up with any folks using travel companies in St Petersburg. I remember from reading the info on cruise critic about a few of you using TJ? Travel and Alla Travel? Do any of you have room for 2 more wonderful individuals from Canada that would love to join your group? Please let us know as soon as possibel. Sure would appreciate it.

I have been trying to keep up with all the comments posted on CC. We spent almost a month in China and Hong Kong with Viking in 2013 that was fabulous! We decided on Viking Homelands July 25th 2015 and paid in full Dec 31st 2013. After reading most of the comments, I have been more than apprehensive about the trip. We also have a 2 night Bergen/Oslo post extension, then immediately after we fly to Amsterdam for an 8 day Viking Rhineland Getaway cruise.

I thank you for all the comments, good and bad. I have decided that we will have to do what we can to make the trip enjoyable for us. I do hope communication does improve in the next 67 days. If this trip turns out poorly, we will not book with Viking again. We have been on many cruises so feel we are able to compare the quality expected with the monies spent.

A quick question. I have booked our shore excursion in my account. Does this account have to be paid in advance of the trip?
