We missed great stirrup cay 3 out of 3 times, I would have taken thousands of jellyfish in the water to see the island.

everything you mentioned about the breakaway is True but we love it,,,why? it is only a 20 minute drive for us from home, we barely see our 2 teen kids during the week,,,lol,,we get the drink package plus this November we got $250 OBC, 1st two guest gratuities paid, $100 casino credit, the 100 minute wifi, unlimited state room calls, 10 photo package, another $50 casino credit, case of water, bottle of wine and chocolate strawberries in our room and a $50 dining credit, all for $1950 total

it is expensive to park at the pier, but so convenient,,,5 minutes after customs you can be in your car driving home.

I am 0-3 with Great Stirrup Cay
be happy you are there

I was under the impression that the Coast Guard takes "possesion" of the evacuee and ship's medical staff don't accompany... if the ship's staff do accompany then who picks up the tab to get the nurse back to the ship?
That is an excellent question sir.

it ends for a day or two,,,then starts up again
and as an FYI i find the 3 week window between mid January to February to be the best time to book
We got a balcony on the Breakaway in November for 2 adult 2 teens for $1950,,,UBP, 1st and 2nd person gratuities, the sea package (or something like that) with unlimited state room telephone calls, wifi, 10 8x10 photos and $50 casino credit,,,$150 OBC from Norwegian, $100 OBC from out travel agent, plus $50 dining credit, a case of water, bottle of wine and chocolate covered strawberry for our state room,,,,,there is 1 more thing,,,but i forgot.

most of you are correct,,,there is no charge from the coast guard
That must be fun as the ships' nurse to get a ride like that every time someone is taken off by helicopter.

I lost 4 lbs on my last breakaway cruise

Coast Guard video of a 14-year-old boy and his grandmother being hoisted from the bow of Norwegian Breakaway on June 27, 2017.
The video was shot from a Coast Guard HC130J fixed-wing aircraft which accompanied the helicopter to provide support.
The introductory title card in the video is incorrect. According to the Coast Guard correction, the ship was 303 miles off the coast of Ocean City MD at the time, which is nearing the limits of the MH-60 Jayhawk helicopter.

Escape is Breakaway Plus-class ship,,,you did score the secret balcony room!
The Breakaway, Getaway, Escape and Joy are basically the same ships.

We love waiting for the breakaway in NYC, we usually get there before 10 and get a good seat upfront to people watch,,,lol
-
as a side note on the cereal boxes,,,these are also great to take off the boat and feed the fish with when snorkling.

When I have to PAY more than $3 for my soda, then I always ask for canned soda and NOT the fountain soda that is included in the drink packages. And in my experience any bar on board also have soda in cans in addition to the fountain soda. I have never been denied soda in a can instead of the fountain soda, they just check on my ship card first, to make certain I don't have a drinking package before they give it to me....
does anyone know if this will work with the UBP?

I only tip people that enhance my cruise enjoyment
