You stated quite clearly in post #30 that there were NO hand sanitizers . . . so what you are now saying there were hand sanitizers?
I am sorry but RCI is very serious and germs on their ships because they can NOT afford for the staff to get ill. Anyone who has sailed on them more than once knows there are hand sanitizers EVERYWHERE!

Claiming that Adventure had NO hand sanitizers is an outright lie.
Now I have that darn Washy, Washy song in my head.
For you to continue to state that there were NO hand sanitizers will surely make everyone disregard your review.

I really hope everyone reading this takes it with a grain of salt, because the Adventure has become my favorite ship after sailing her for 2 weeks in March.
She had a major Refurb. just 6 or 7 months ago . . . so don't be afraid to sail her folks.

My wife and our adult daughter sailed on Adventure of the Seas on July 6 to the Bahamas. This cruise was our birthday gift to our daughter, who had never been on a cruise before. My wife and I have been sailing almost exclusively over the years with Celebrity. We gave our daughter the choice of a Celebrity cruise to Bermuda or a Royal Caribbean cruise to the Bahamas. Both were for one week and both were on older ships. Our daughter chose the Royal Caribbean cruise because of the itinerary. She and my wife shared a balcony cabin.
Some observations, courtesy of my wife:
1. The public restrooms were filthy. There were no attendants to clean them during daylight hours. The bathroom floors on the pool deck were wet, slippery and dangerous.
2. Hand sanitizers which should be ubiquitous on all cruise ships were no where to be found. Sinks at the entrance to the Windjammer buffet restaurant were not used by all passengers. My wife had to actually ask for hand sanitizers and she was told on one occasion that none were available.
3. Overheated passengers returning to the ship from shore were not offered cold face towels or cold drinks to refresh themselves, and of course, no hand sanitizers were on display. Clearly, cleanliness was not a priority on this ship.
4. My wife described the vaunted on-board entertainment, allegedly a Royal Caribbean strength, as nothing special.
5. On a number of occasions the staff was slow clearing dirty plates from tables in the always crowded Windjammer buffet restaurant.
6. Even though disembarking at the port of Coco Cay (Royal Caribbean’s private island) is a ritual the ship performs on a weekly basis, you would think the crew would have learned how and known better. Thousands of impatient passengers were trapped in small, narrow, overheated, confining exit ways for 90 brutal minutes before being allowed off the ship. There were no water fountains at hand. Not surprisingly, under these extremely uncomfortable conditions the mob of passengers became unruly. My wife said she’s seen better organized riots.
7. My wife noted the door frames in their cabin shower were rusty. Same with the floor surface on the balcony. Curiously, these features did not appear in the Royal Caribbean cruise brochure.
8. Although she was Diamond class by virtue of her past cruises on Celebrity, my wife had to actually ask for basics like a shower cap and lotions and a robe. The cabin had no carafe of ice water.
9. Having purchased a soda package, my wife had to continually ask for straws, which the crew were stingy to hand out allegedly due to environmental concerns — but they were ever present on more expensive alcoholic beverages.
10. To be sure, and in fairness to Royal Caribbean, there were parts of the cruise my wife did enjoy. Contrary to her low expectations, my wife said the food was decent, though selections on the MDR menu were limited. She said her cabin attendant and MDR server were very good. But maybe because we booked this cruise late, the fare was no bargain compared to what we pay on Celebrity (where we normally book early) — and yet she received a lot less for our money. For years we’ve heard Celebrity described as an upscale version of Royal Caribbean (they are both owned by the same parent company), but until my wife’s upsetting experiences on this cruise we were unable to appreciate what upscale really means.
Wow, I don't even know where to start.
I was on this ship 4 months ago for 2 weeks, and NONE of this was ever evident to me. There was ALWAYS hand sanitizers and ice water when getting back on board from port.
I always saw an attendant in the public bathrooms cleaning every time I was in there.
Shower caps and lotion are NEVER provided.
Yes, you always pay more the closer you get to sailing. The best deals are over 6 months in advance.
Straws are a new thing that RCI has implemented as an environmental issue. NO more plastic straws.

How are they NOT providing you with an accessible cabin at the comparable price?????
Your cabin is actually LESS than what I and my hubby would pay.

What do you mean? GTY is a pricing option. This sentence says that passengers requiring an accessible cabin should also be provided the GTY pricing option.
NO where does that sentence say that people requiring an accessible cabin should be provided the GTY pricing option. THAT is where you are wrong and being illogical about it.
It simply says you have to be provided an accessible cabin at the same rate as a non accessible cabin. Which you are. Like I said, you are just unhappy that you could not get the cheapest rate possible. LOL
Thank you for the laugh, because no matter how many people have explained the EXACT same thing to you, you fail to acknowledge that the cruise lines have in fact complied.

No, this is not about Going Going Sale. This is a regular booking. Any person can buy the room cheaper than I can at the GTY rate, because they decided not to make all rooms wheelchair accessible. A reasonable compromise is that they sell the wheelchair accessible rooms at the same price they offer regular people.
You realize that what you are saying is totally illogical don't you? You complain that you can not book the GTY rate and get an accessible cabin and blame it on the cruise line??? That would require the cruise line to make ALL cabins accessible which would place an undue hardship on the cruise line. I am sure in all your wonderful quoting of the Disability Laws the word "Reasonable" came up, did it not?
Personally I think you are lucky to get accessible cabins with only 6 months booking.

Definitely try a B2B out of San Juan to hit most of the Southern islands. You will repeat maybe 1 or 2 ports but hit around 7 new ones. They are port intensive, but wonderful. My hubby and I did it this past March on Adventure right after her refurb. :D

My hubby and I drive to the port, so we normally board around 10:30 AM. I love having all that extra time to relax around the pool deck.

Does anyone know if the promenade view interiors got new carpets/bedding/furnishings in the latest refurb? I've seen some reports that oceanviews on decks 2 and 3 got them (and new desks?) but wasn't sure about the promenade rooms.
Any info is appreciated!
Yes, they did. I was on 3-3 to 3- 17 and Promenade view rooms were all redone. [emoji4]

Hubby and I gave him $20 for the two of us. Especially aftering seeing numerous couples counting out $5.00 for two. We thought that was very low for a full day of touring. :(

Agree with and have experienced most of the situations you encountered.
A pet peeve of mine is regardless of how crowded that elevator is...some barge in and could care less ... the ones that only go up one deck (really)...the ones with huge open plates of food (yuck..ask for a plate cover) .. the ones that won't move to let you off (come on) !!
Please do not judge just because they are going up 1 floor. I was on B2B on Adventure last month and by the end of the day, I rode 1 floor without hesitation. I double fractured my left ankle 6 months ago which required a plate and 4 screws inserted to stabilize it. I am no where near being back to normal yet. :( Surgeon says it will take a year or so before I am close to normal.

You would have to leave the port by 7:30 AM to make that flight. Any problems with clearance and you will not make it in time. The San Juan Airport is a zoo when everyone gets off and gets there. You could probably make it, but it could also be a problem.

Hi Guys!
I’m looking for advice- wanting to book a cruise on Fantasy for late Fall/Winter 2019, as soon as the new schedule is released (May??). My son will be in kindergarten so I have no problem pulling him out of school to sail at a lower price. I’m thinking October, November, Early December?
I want to save money, but I also want to be able to enjoy the water at Castaway and use the pools. What would you recommend as lower cost week plus still warm enough to enjoy?

You are looking to sail in Hurricane season? That is not the best way to go.;p
Where are you coming from? If in the North, you might have cancelled flights due to bad weather.

Hi all,
My family and I will be sailing on Adventure of the Seas July 13th of this year and there has been a lot of discussion regarding the drink package. We are a big group(19 people) so I’m trying to get information for everyone. My boyfriend and I(sharing a room) are pretty set on it, but I wanted to get some information from others who have used it that might help everyone else in our party make a decision. We get the basics of it but had a few questions/concerns regarding the package and how it works.
- My only concern is if frozen margaritas are covered. I know drinks up to $12 are covered and we can pay the difference but please correct me if I’m wrong.
-How does it actually work when you get a drink? Do you use your sea pass card and they make you sign a blank receipt?
-If I wanted to buy a round of drinks would they just take mine off and charge me for the rest?
-From what I have gathered it would take probably 6-7 drinks a day(between bottled water, specialty coffees and alcohol) to make it worth it, is that correct?
Any tips or advice would be greatly appreciated.

Any drink under $12.00 would be covered for you and your boyfriend. This includes water bottles, specialty coffee at the Cafe Promenade, fresh squeezed orange juice. If you catch the Deluxe Drink Pkg. on sale, it is worth it, as it would average out to roughly 4 or 5 drinks per day. :cool:

If you go to San Juan, try to go at least 2 days early to see some of the sites. San Juan is wonderful to visit!!!
