My then 6yo said the same thing about Disney. When we boarded the Mariner in Pt. Canaveral, the Disney Magic was next to us. All he kept saying was that he wished we were on the Disney ship instead(Disney was his first cruise). Anyway, by the time the Mariner cruise was over, he said he liked it much better than Disney. We have since been on the Explorer too, and my only disappointment is that the kids programs are so alike. He did the same activities on both ships because he was in the same age group(6-8), although he didn't seem to mind.
That's really good to hear, as we are just back from our first cruise, a Disney Wonder 4 day, DD8 loved it, but I really want to experience other ships. Its was "ok" IMHO, and I can leave on the Jewel of the Seas from my home port, which would make DH VERY happy (hates flying), and I love the deck plans I have seen from the RCCL website. Planning on booking a Sept. or Oct cruise VERY SOON! How's the food, and the excursions? Any hints and tips are welcomed and appreciated as I am New to cruizin, but definately "hooked".
