  1. I will check with my homeowners insurance. I didn't have the travelers insurance as I did not pay for the trip it was a present to me and sadly the person who bought it didn't purchase it

I hope you find your luggage. Its a shame that if someone accidentally took it, that they didn't contact Carnival saying they had it. It's so easy to pick up someones elses, thinking its theirs. I've chased my bags a few times, I now apply bright strap to mine. Haven't ran down a piece since.

Just an FYI, you can always purchase insurance for a trip that someone else had paid for. You'll just need to know the details of the trip to give to the insurance company.

  2. So you pick your cup up and lick the bottom of it? What do you do with your finger after pressing the dispense button that everyone else on the ship has already pressed ahead of you? Maybe a cruise ship is not somewhere you should be hanging out if you are worried about someones cup being able to sit under the spout without touching anything except the bottom! How do you know those workers weren't picking their nose when they brought those clean coffee cups out and stacked them up for your use? I could understand not using a personal cup like on a soda fountain where you have to press the lever in with the cup to fill it, but when the cup clears the dispenser and the botton has to pressed with a finger, come on!

Coffee, water, soda...what ever your getting, use a clean cup. You can lick the bottom of yours if you'd like, I'll pass ;p

  3. By the way, if, like me, you prefer a coffee cup bigger than the ones provided on the ship, a 16 oz. Tervis coffee mug fits under the coffee dispenser just fine without it touching the spout. Same holds true if you want use the mug to get ice water. No need to pour from one cup into another.

It's a sanitary issue...not will it fit under the spout. You don't know where the cup before you was at before they put it under the spout...YUCK!!

  4. Speaking from experience...I would not bring a little one that still takes naps or goes to bed early!

We took our 13 month old grandson with us. Our days went as follows:

Up at 8, got dressed, went to breakfast, played/walked around/ate lunch. Around 1pm he was ready for his afternoon nap.

Back up at 4, played a little before dinner, went back to change for dinner and then off to the dining room. We would hang around on the Lido deck or where they had some music going on till around 8pm. Then off to get him ready for bath/bed. I tried keeping him up, but he was so use to his schedule. I think one night we made it till 9.

I enjoyed the sleep, but missed so much of the ship, entertainment, and ports. If he would have slept in the stroller, the cruise would have been better.

All in all, I had a good time, he had a great time, and my DH felt like he was on the cruise by himself.

  5. I personally find the food better on Carnival. FYI...lobster is served the night of the Captains Dinner(second night). Lunch in the dining room is pretty good to. We try and go at least once during our trip. Their are sooo many choices of food to choose from for lunch on the Lido deck.

If you don't want to cruise with a lot of kids, don't travel during the times they are out of school. Even when they are out of school, they are not all that bad, a few...yes.

The shorter 3-4 day sailings tend to draw in the party crowds. Especially during Spring Break.

Also, each person is allowed to carry on 12 non alcoholic beverages in CANS, no bottles allowed.

1 750ml bottle of wine per person(21 yrs or older)

12 pk of water can be purchased from the Carnival Fun Shops for $4.99, it will be delivered to your cabin. I think the water out of the faucet is OK to drink.

    Free drinks on board:

Breakfast: 3 types of juice, milk, coffee, tea, hot chocolate

Lunch: iced tea, lemonade, coffee, tea, milk (in the dining room, you will have to ask for any of these)

Go with an open mind. Have a wonderful trip!!

  6. As others have suggested, if the platinum gifts aren't your cup of tea, feel free to pass it on to someone else who will appreciate it! Calling it 'worthless junk' is your opinion- to others, it's a nice little perk!

Didn't your mothers ever teach you- if you can't say something nice, say nothing at all? A lesson several people on this board could learn from!

  7. Going on the POA in November, what are the not to miss waterfalls?

Are you able to walk in them?

Can you do them on your own or do they have a tour for them?

    Thanks for the info!

  8. Do you really want to risk losing your cruise, by waiting until the last absolute minute to pay for it? What if something happens, and your credit card company bounces/denies the payment?

My TA requires payment a few days ahead of the cruise line due date, just to 100% guarantee that you still get the payment in on time.

    This happens a lot!

  9. This is our first RC cruise in many years.

Does RC use the seapass cards for loading money to the slot machines to play, or do we need to deposit cash?

Do they charge to take money out at the casino?

Do they charge a fee to close out the account at the end of the cruise?

    Thanks!

  10. Good the know you're a thief.

    Definitely NOT a thief!!

But I do use common courtesy, which I see you DO NOT!

I have and will continue to move towels from a lounger and turn in if that lounger has not been used in over 45 minutes! I will also put all of your items such as towels, books, sunscreen under the chair if the area is not wet! When I'm done with the lounger, you are more than welcome to it!!

We travel sometimes with small children and we do like to keep an eye on them so they don't drown!! Just sayin'
