When was the Xpedition in dry dock and for how long?
There were complaints of air conditioning problems last summer (cooler season).
The dry dock was suppose to be completed about a month ago, and I believe it was suppose to have taken 2-3 weeks.
I don't know if the air conditioning problem was taken care of. We switched our cabin from deck 3 to 4 because of it. We are sailing mid December and will write a review upon our return.

I have posted on the Xpedition boards but received no answers.
Wanted to know if anyone has come back from their Galapagos cruise since the dry dock. If so, please fill us in about the changes.
Thank you.

Would love to see Celebrity have more cruises out of ports other than Fort Lauderdale, Miami, and Bayonne. The west coast would be delightful and one I would seriously consider. I forget which cruise line it was but I saw something called a "Wine Cruise" which hit several west coast ports. I think, emphasis on "think" it left from Vancouver and went down the coast. It may have been a repo cruise for the ship, but it was one heck of an itinerary.
Did the wine cruise around 7 years ago on Princess and it was wonderful. Vancouver to San Diego.
Celebrity needs to follow suite.

We received 14 emails from celebrity yesterday (yes 14) that said this
Dear Guest:
As you prepare for your upcoming cruise with us, we want to make you aware of an update in your Shore Excursions program. Please note that since Cinque Terre has become a very popular destination with many tourists visiting, crowds may be experienced in the villages, on the motorboats and train transfers. Should you feel the LV34- Cinque Terre tour you recently booked is no longer optimal as one of your tour options we'd like to recommend to book instead the following alternate shore excursion.
LVJ9- Coast of Cinque Terre & Portovenere
We apologize for any inconvenience this may cause and we look forward to welcoming you aboard. Thank you.
However there is no description. The suggested change in the email or on the website, only a title.
Looks like we may have to phone celebrity for more info
Sounds to me that they have had multiple complaints, and now they are covering themselves.
The villages were lovely, but because of the train ride, we would never do this tour with Celebrity again. I have also heard about the boat being just as crowded as well. They only do the train if the weather is bad which was what we experienced.

We did the Cinque terre tour through Celebrity in May and didn't care for it at all. Of course the weather was a deterrent. We had heavy rains for most of the morning. The train experience was the worse. We were loaded onto the trains like cattle. Many people felt faint, and the worse part was that the train didn't move for 15 minutes.
I personally wouldn't recommend the Celebrity tour at all. We actually were refunded part of the cost because of the circumstances.

Our September 11, 2016 Pacific Coastal cruise was cancelled due to it being chartered. Found out from people on the boards, not Celebrity.
Very disappointed as we were also doing the land portion as well to the Canadian Rockies.
-
Our Canadian Rocky and Pacific Coastal cruise was canceled out for Sept 2016 due to a charter.
We re-booked a med cruise for Oct '16 and they only gave us $100 obc. We are not very happy with Celebrity right now. They didn't admit that it was a charter until a month after it showed up as sold out.
This is the second Pacific Coastal cruise to be canceled on us. The other was on Princess.

Hi Tony,
Thanks for the information about the guide. Still not sure exactly what we will be doing as we won't be there until Oct., 2016.

The Great Siege Tunnels are not claustrophobic and for me the highlight of the visit, although the WWII tunnels were great too if you have a very good guide. All the best, Tony
Tony, can you tell me who you used for the guide.
Thank you.

I go to an online agency that bids for your business. They come up with their best offer and you can compare apples to apples what each is offering. I then go to our usual wonderful TA and see if she can bet the best offer or not.

Second Downy Wrinkle Releaser. Works great for touch up, and doesn't take up much room.

Hi BearX,
Thank you for letting us know you had no problem with the air in 305. We will be in 304 and am very concerned about it being to warm as many have stated. Hopefully after the dry dock in Sept., all the cabins will be cool.

I would like to get to see Cuba some day, so I vote yes.

The Pacific Coastal cruise was cancelled for Sept. 11, 2016 and switched to an Alaskan cruise.
Celebrity is giving $100.00 obc toward another cruise booked by June 15,( I believe is the date,) for balcony or less that were already booked, and $200.00 for suites already booked.
I don't believe the May cruises were affected, but not sure.

Sounds like you had a fabulous cruise. We were on an Adriatic cruise 3 years ago and loved every minute of it.

Hi Wallie 5446,
Thank you so much for the warm welcome.
I agree with you about saftly concerns in the USA, but I don't feel anymore comfortable going out in a Caribbean Island at night than in many places in America.
Just our thoughts, and everyone does what they feel most comfortable with.

Did concierge level only once. Only 2 perks of importance to us were the footstools on the balcony, and the x-tra points to get us to Elite.
Will not pay to get it again.

We usually always board around 11:30 and on our last Eclipse cruise the cabins were ready at 1:00.
Luggage arrives anywhere from 3:00-5:00 usually. I like to unpack before we sail so that I don't get seasick from bending to put the clothes away.

I also went on the contact us feature on the Celebrity site and asked them to reinstate Bonaire. It might just help us.
Please add your names as well.......
-
Has anyone recently done the Montserrat and Caba wine tasting tour with Barcelona Day Tours and was it good?
Thank you.
-
Our cruise is affected by the new Caribbean overnights, and we are not happy. As far as we are concerned, we will just stay on the ship. Not looking for any trouble getting off the ship at night. Too much of a risk in our opinion.
-
Celebrity, please bring back Bonaire. Many of us were really looking forward to this new port on your itinerary.
That's my opinion, and I'm sticking to it.

On our last Eclipse sailing the onion soup in the main dining room was too salty to eat.
We just got off the Equinox, and the onion soup was done perfectly.
Same S class ship, different chef's, different taste.

We always leave our original passports in the safe and carry color copies of both information pages with us.
Knee replacement and security
in Celebrity Cruises
Posted
Depends on the port. Some I go through with no problem while others I get the wand. My knee replacement was 5 years ago this month.
Enjoy your cruise.
