  1. We left the kids 3 years ago with Grandparents. Kids were 13, 10, 6, and 4. We called from each port (4 ports) to say hi and check in. They were fine. Kids had never stayed without us prior. Grandma lives in FL while we are in CT. It was a fun adventure for them. (and us!)

  2. 2 years ago we were on the Freedom while 2 charter groups of girls from Brazil celebrated their Quincanera. A couple hundred of them. There were multiple times that venues were closed for just them to use - including the entire pool one night, forcing tons of kids into the Solarium. I was not happy. I left 4 kids home for our one and only non kid vacation. They were always in huge crowds, like dance lines down the Promenade to the point that you could not walk. It was a huge headache.

  3. Mine shows no availability for cabanas in CocoCay, as well, but I've heard of others having success on board. I've seen you active in the Roll Call, so if I happen to see shows and activities open up before you, I'll be sure to post it there! It's giving me anxiety not having everything booked this close to sailing, but it's going to be an awesome trip! See you onboard! :)

I called and they told me 60-90 days out the stuff would be available. However, all cabanas and beach bungalows in coco cay are sold out she said. ugh. with 4 kids I really needed one. See you onboard!

  4. I'm on the April 14th Anthem cruise and many things are still not available -- not to worry! I've been able to book dining, but still checking daily for iFly, NorthStar, and shows! Glad it's not just me!

Good to know. I'm on the 14th too and wondering when we will get to book. I know the cruise is sold out and at capacity so I am sure things will be hard to get. I've finally got dining all set but my kids will freak if I don't get those activities. I also can't seem to get a cabana in coco cay.

  5. I thought I read somewhere that on the Anthem there was some differences with food. When I was on Freedom, I was able to order multiple lobster tails and it was all covered as part of my main dining room meal. Will I have to pay for lobster tails on the Anthem? or pay for extra ones? What else would I need to pay for?

    Thanks!

  6. Yes, it's aggressive. I won't be taking my kids back there in 2 weeks. Also, if you Dunns River Falls, after you exit, you go through a similar market with just as aggressive locals selling stuff. My husband, being black, was hounded and insulted in both places, that he was "treating them worse than the white man", since he wasn't interested in buying anything. They really laid into him in Jamaica walking through there. Interestingly, my husband's mother was born and raised in Jamaica.
