  1. OH no.. So they're only available during special promo periods? Do they limit which cruise you get to use them on?
  2. So we bought 2 deposits during our last cruise and they gave us the option of immediate credits or doubling our number of deposits. We chose the double offer as it was a better value. He said that on cruises booked 6 months in advance I can double up y deposit and use 2 deposits instead of 1. That would be ideal for us since we only cruise maybe every other year, which means we can fully itilize the offer. However, is the double up offers only on specific dates and on specific cruises? Can any cruise be doubled up as long as its 6 months out in advance? Does anybody have any experience in how it works? Thanks for any replies in advance.
  3. Oh I did... Played Basketball my whole life and tried it for 10 minutes only to get dizzy off the fumes. Track had it too but nowhere near as bad. I guess ropes course is wind dependent. On days with no wind, the conditions they open it, I can literally see a cloud of fumes right over it. I find it amazing that people say they don't smell anything. I guess I'm just sensitive to it.
  4. I agree with you. I think a big screen right on the main pool deck is a natural place for it. It's the case for most of the ships on carnival and it feels better IMO. There were some movies played at spice H20 which is a good place for it, but most were inside in the atruim which didn't feel right not being under the stars.
  5. The big screen is located in the back of the ship and in the atrium. The back of the ship consists of Spice H20, an adults only section of the ship. They play movies there rarely, most of the movies are played on the screen in the atruim. As for watching NFL games on it, forget it... They may have NFL games on somewhere if you're lucky, but I doubt they'll broadcast it on a giant screen. I was there in August and it was constant soccer, rugby and tennis only. The big screen in spice H20 plays a water scene almost 24/7, that's about it, and the atruim screen is almost always in use for trivia or something like it.
  6. In terms of entertainment and food, it was fantastic! Bun the floor and million dollar quartet are not to be missed. Junked was good too but not $30/pp good... Loved the live band playing the entire Fleetwood Mac Rumours album from start to finish. Ate at all the complimentary places and they were all pretty good. O'sheehan's was a great place to eat, unwind and watch the many shows and events in the atruim. The ship itself though was meh... I travel with my wife and 2 girls, ages 8 and 11, and a good 40% of the ship was inaccessible to them due to it being exclusively adults only, though that might be a good thing for couples. AND before someone says that they have the arcade and the splash park, might I remind you that there are places for adults to drink and relax EVERYWHERE else on the ship. Spice H20 takes up huge space, some of the best space too, and was never busy, wasted potential IMO. Several kid friendly amenities were taken away or still closed, like the mini golf course and bounce house. By far the worst issue I have with the ship is the smokestack! It is right next to, and blows noxious diesel fumes right into, the ropes course, basketball court and running track. We didn't even try these because we knew it'll expose us to it.
  7. You know, I never thought about that. A trip o Saudi Arabia would be nice too. Anyways, I just got back and for anybody interested, all they were showing were reruns of recent football(soccer) games, rugby and tennis. That's about it...
  8. Totally... The deck loungers on the getaway are really thick and long, and the hallways are tiny and narrow. I can't imagine someone trying to take one into an elevator and finagaling it into a room. Although, Elsammo64, that's not to say you can't bring your own lounger to your balcony. One of those smaller ones meant for concerts or lawn parties might just fit well enough to make it worthwhile. Plus, you can carry it to the beach on beach days.
  9. I know the getaway had a daycare for kids 3 to 5. They called it the guppies program. They must be potty trained or fairly potty trained. They will call you to change any diapers if accidents arise.
  10. They are not heated except for the aforementioned thermal suite pool or the several hottubs around the ship.
  11. I just got off a wonderful cruise on the getaway and have one of the songs stuck in my head, but I have no idea what the song was. It was an instrumental only, electronic-heavy track, it played at the part where the female dancer was blindfolded and being carried around the stage by shirtless men. It reminded me a lot of "Teardrop" by Massive Attack. Same kind of style but a much sadder somber vibe. It also had what sounded like heartbeats incorporated into the track. Did anybody else see this show and know about the track I'm taking about?
  12. No. It comes with 2 standard chairs and a small desk just like any other balcony. The regular balconies on the getaway are tiny compared to most ships, so the extra space just made it feel normal... There is no space to fit one of the deck loungers on these balconies, plus I've never heard of them putting deck loungers on a balcony. Stayed in room 9244.
  13. That's a bummer... Truly didn't know what to expect from a $500,000,000 ship. Guess I'll just use my imagination for fight night.
  14. I got a cruise on the getaway coming up on the 20th of August. It's Also the day of a big boxing match in the late afternoon (Usyk vs Joshua 2). I'm wondering if anyone has experience with the sports bars on Norwegian, and if so, which sports do they usually show? I was hoping they'd have current and live sports on, not just replays or local sports of whatever port we're in.
