I am deposited on a cruise on the Escape (joining friends already booked). I have only crushed NCL once. We have mostly cruised RCL in the past. I was very familiar with RCL ship layouts and used to often book the D1 category aft balconies on certain ships. I love the location and the view of the aft and the rooms/balconies were sooooo much bigger. Wondering what the secret room suggestions are for Escape. Im assigned to 14902 at the moment. There will be 3 of us in the room. Open to all suggestions:) Thank you!!

Just got 2 rooms at the Riverside in Fort Lauderdale for $117 each (plus taxes which made it $142.76 each) for April 28, 2017 on Hotwire using better biddings assistant portion of their page :)

Update! I went out on a limb and included the downtown area as well and ended up with the Riverside for only $117 per room! With taxes it was $142.76 per room :) Much better then paying $125 plus tax at Rodeway even though Ill have tp buy taxi to and from as well as breakfast. Super excited.

FLL north 85% recommended is the Crown Plaza right by the entrance to the port. I have stayed there four times on Hotwire and it's perfect for cruising.

 

While they have a free (albeit slow) airport shuttle, there is not a free shuttle to the port. They will sell you a transfer but a taxi is faster and much cheaper. The front desk will call you a taxi upon request.

I am looking at hotwire now and interested in 2 rooms pre cruise. Was considering Rodeway Inn to save $ and we dont fly in till 8pm night before cruise but after reading this I am tempted to try Hotwire. We are cruising Harmony out of fort lauderdale the next day. Is the FLL North still the suggested location?

Does crown offer free breakfast? How far to cruise port. There are 6 of us (3 per room) wondering cost to get to pier next day.

If another hotel is suggested I appreciate your insight.

If we go and buy a day pass on arrival for the aquarium only I am reading that the desk opens early on the days that Harmony is in port (730 I hear)? Can anyone verify that? Wondering how long it typically takes to do the aquarium iwht a couple teens? If there is time should we plan to visit the beach nearby that is free or head back towards the ship and explore there?

Im curious about buying aquarium passes there too? We are in port only 7-230 not for sure on what the group wants to do so would be nice if its an option to decide that day. Following......

Thank you everyone. I was personally at Atlantis on my 1st cruise. I dont think we did anything other then the public beach and attempted to go into part of the aquarium. I recall an area you didnt have to pay to get in...there was a rope bridge to cross and a walk way that was an aquarium on either side. I dont recall being impressed. A friend wondered into their casino. I am more asking for a friend going along who's son really wanted to see this place. I appreciate the reviews. Doesn't sound like $ or time is on our side with this. We are going last week of April into early May so I think we will be ok with spring breakers. I think I will also look into other options for our day there. Anyone have other suggestions?

Hello everyone. Going on the harmony in April and we will be in this port 7am-230pm. Friends going with us have never been on a cruise. These ports are ALL new to them. I was at Nassau once but it was my first cruise so before I found YOU! lol I was not impressed but hoping it was just my lack of research. My friend;s son really wants to see Atlantis. My question is what do you suggest we do and especially knowing our port times?

The mom just got back to me and said her son is set on Harmony so I think we will stick to that. :) I was thinking that too but he is soon excited about that ship. I am also excited to hear about the changes for Adventure though. Id love to sail that ship again after :)

We have been on several cruises. I do love the Oasis class and all it has to offer but I also always loved the Adventure of the seas and the southern caribbean routes. Last time we sailed Adventure it was in need of a renovation and after having been on the Freedom class ship it seemed to show its age in a way I hadn't known before. Today I got an email that Adventure is getting redone again and will feature water slides, flow rider etc. We are currently booked for Spring 2017 on the Harmony in D2s (two familys....mine with an 18 and 16 year old and our friends with their 14 year old...kids are all boys). The adventure has D2s available and we will each save $1000! Some of that I am sure we will lose in air as it is cheaper to fly to Florida then San Juan. This is going to be their 1st cruise!!!! What are your thoughts????? Not sure which way to lead them.

It's probably too late...but besides Hempfest there's the Seahawks first preseason game going on right now at CenturyLink Field. I hope you stayed in Renton!

 

If you haven't gone to dinner yet, there are quite a few decent restaurants down in Renton--Melrose Grill (steaks), Naan & Curry (Indian/Pakistani), Royal Orchid (Thai), Whistle Stop Ale House (pub food), Heaven Sent Chicken (takeout spicy fried chicken that's famous for being so good, it made Oprah blow one of her many diets!)

Thank you. We are sailing NCL so we leave out of Pier 66. I have to return to Alamo downtown. I plan to leave Renton at 1030, return approx. 11 (if traffic isn't bad) and they shuttle to the pier from there.

Am I crazy to consider going back into the city right now? I would like to see the market at night and have dinner there somewhere but not sure if this is a good idea????

We are cruising out tomorrow. I was in the city all day today (GREAT DAY despite the rain) but traffic when I left the city was terrible. I am staying in the renton area. Thinking I should probably find something to do/eat out of the city???

I have to return my rental car in the city and then get shuttled to pier...thoughts on AM traffic? I was planning to head there approx. 1030 am?

Thank you for all of that great info! Yes I am only about an hour west of Philly and grew up in the suburbs about 20 min outside of southwest Philly, so I do know the traffic there. I will be by myself for the day of touring Seattle wit my son, so I wanted to make sure there would be ample parking. We are renting a full size vehicle and now that I am live in the country with my own driveway I don't have to street park much. I would have been a little uneasy about parallel parking!!! Sounds like we will have a great day with lots of options! :) Thank you again!

Leaving tomorrow and this isn't sorted. I have a hold on a car at Alamo....they will allow me to pick up 24 hours (so I can get it when I arrive late), return to the downtown location and will shuttle me to the pier. My question is I will have the car Friday to get around to sight see with my son....how convenient is it driving and parking in seattle????

Ok thanks. The other option is to just stay at Econo Lodge with them and book a car for the full price......any input on that hotel.

Wow thank you so much! I called. They only had one room left and it was a king room only. We are a family of 4 and I have a 6 ft 2 teen con...lol. Any other ideas??

We are cruising this Saturday and have been dragging feet to book a hotel in Seattle precruise. My hubby has a work thing on Friday (touring the Kenworth Plant) and the people he is traveling with for that portion of the trip booked a room for them and us at the Econolodge in Renton. I guess the Kenworth plant is in Renton too. I have several issues with this to overcome.

1) Hotel gets bad reviews

2) They do not offer a complimentary shuttle

3) We arrive at 1130 at night Seattle time

4) We need to at least be nearby this location since my hubby will be riding with them to the tour

5) Car rentals seem to be in excess of $220 total for late Thursday through Sat morning

6) Car will have to be returned and then get transfers to cruise pier.

My hope was to find a clean decent hotel with a free 24 hour shuttle, while y hubby tours I could take public railway etc into town with my teen son. Then shuttle to pier Saturday.

Any suggestions for this situation?????
