We are going on the Symphony March 21, just told my wife 6000 people on the ship, 16,000 at the hockey arena. Which do you think is cleaner? Can't cancel if you got insurance because you think your going to be sick.

We called home and had relatives send us the money. Now that we have paid the Jamaica hospital, they sent my detailed bill and I can now send to the insurances that we have to hopefully be reimbursed.
I can tell you it was very scary. Opened our eyes for sure.
I did not have to pay any money up front. I had to submit paperwork for, missed days of cruise, parking at airport, co-pays for follow up , and other things.

Is this a specific policy with an insurance or a company?
Im currently looking to buy insurance for my upcoming cruise but there are so many companies, and so many different policies. It is the company through RC. Cost about $160 based on a central park balcony It covered my life flight from Bahamas to Ft Lauderdale which was $13,500. and flight back home.

We are back from the Oasis of the Seas cruise that started on Jan 26th. Yes, you read that right, Jan 26th. While on the cruise, day 2, I came down with the Flu that was diagnosed in the ship's doctor's office. I received tamiflu and instructions to stay in my cabin. The following day I was not feeling better so I went back to the doctor hoping for an inhaler. What occurred next is your worst nightmare. The doctor on the ship freaked out a bit and decided I needed a CT scan to rule out a blood clot, which by the way I did not ever have. So in Jamaica at 4:00 I left the ship thinking we would be back for 6:30. Well that never happened! We ended up at the Jamaica private hospital where they proceeded to tell us that we needed cash otherwise, they would transfer us to the public hospital. By the time this was all straightened out money wise (no they did not take the cruise insurance or our Aetna) the ship had sailed. They finally were able to get me to Florida via lear jet on 2/1 where I stayed at Broward International hospital until my return home yesterday. Let me say being in Jamaica was scary and the treatment was subpar. Even the EMT's from the jet knew something wasn't right and had to tell the doctors what to do. The staff in Florida were top notch. Unfortunately by this point the Flu turned in Pneumonia with a few other things thrown in.
Moral of the story......get the insurance, because my $2,000 cruise has turned into a $30,000 disaster that I am sure is going to take many months to fix. Without that insurance though, I don't know where I would be right now. Get the insurance, it is worth the $200
You better believe get the insurance. I fell and broke my femur April 4 on the Symphony walking thru th solarium doors. I had RC Insurance - OnCall. I had to lay a day and ahalf at sea until we got to the Bahamas, then got lifeflighted to Ft Lauderdale Broward County Medical Center. They operated , spent a week there, then they arranged flights back. The lifeflight alone was $13,500. Everything was covered. All the medical people on the ship were fantastic.

I fell and broke my femur on the Symphony last year, the life flight from the Bahamas o Fort Lauderdale was $13,500. I had travel insurance through Royal, OnCall was the insurer. Worth every penny. They took care of everything, including flights home with a nurse.

Currently on the Symphony of the Seas, doing a back-to-back on the May 4th & May 11th cruises. Hopefully we’re allowed to keep our SeaPass cards from both cruises. I really do like to keep them as souvenirs, as well as proof that we did cruise. We are staying in a Sky Class suite so I will ask the Suite Concierges at some point this week.
We were on the Symphony last month when I slipped and broke my right femur going to exchange towels in the solarium, It had just rained. When they were putting me in the ambulance they asked for our sea pass, my wife said we save them. They let us keep them. By the way, did they put skid pads at the entrance of the solarium door? This happened on the 5th day of the cruise.

On thing to think about, you may not need to cover the cruise fare. And you can save a lot on insurance.
By the time we get close, the cruise fare has been paid. If I have to cancel, I will be upset, but it would not be a financial crisis.
But medical or evacuation could be a financial problem.
So I insure for a $0 cruise cost. It normally costs me $32 to do this. Last cruise, this saved me over $500 in insurance costs. A few cruises, and I am ahead even if I cancel.
I did not now you can do that. My cost was $159 for Central Park balcony. as it turned out, well worth it.

I would not rely entirely on Royals insurance for medical or evacuation coverage due to their very low coverage limits. $10,000 medical and $25,000 evac does not go very far.
It’s great though for the trip cancellation and cancel for any reason coverages.
That insurance only covers travel and evacuation. My medical insurance covered the operation and hospital. i remember hearing the person in the hospital talking on the phone I had used $13000 from the Bahamas to Ft Lauderdal.

Question??
First, I always recommend some kind of Travel Insurance also.
My question is this,,, what kind of paperwork have you had to submit to get reimbursed for all this?
Is it possible that Royal picked up the entire tab on this due to you falling on their slick deck.
At hte end of the day, either way,, glad to hear you're doing fine.
i did get paperwork from oncall insurance. for all incidentals. My wife had to pay for her plane ticket, $500 but we will get reimbursed. this will be ongoing. Oddly I have'nt received my how did you like the cruise form yet. RC probably has it flagged.

Cant say enough for getting trip insurance. Slipped and fell on my March 30 Symphony cruise going thru the solarium door to exchange towels. I broke my right femur. When they were picking me up, some lady said that I was the third person to fall that morning. It had just rained Can't say enough about RC service,.so far . It was day 5. formal night. I had to lay down flat down on deck 2, they x- rayed it. doctor and nurses were fantastic.. The even brought lobster for supper. Had to wait there till we reached the Bahamas. They had an ambulance waiting when we were cleared to leave. I seen passage ways on deck two that most people never seen. I got to see the Bahamas thru the back of the ambulance with cars splitting . and six cruise ships in the background. Flew to Ft lauderdale hospital where thy operated on me. $13,000 for ride in lear jet, for me and my wife. 0ne week in hospital . They arranged every thing , flew us back to Pa, with a nurse. to rehab. Otherwise Symphony is a great ship, fantastic entertainment and food. This was probably our 16th cruise, 7 with RC. Moral of story, DON'T GAMBLE. GET INSURANCE.

End of week open. We got hairspray first night . See you there. we will be tired from early flight and not sleeping. bad selection of times.

I was in 12185 the room was fine. No noise at night. The only thing is when the pool band plays. It will sound like they are in your room playing.
Sent from my iPhone using Forums[/quotet So true. got off last week was in 12583. Band plays from 3 to 5. It was loud. The guitar music at night was relaxing.

No it isn't!
Whilst they have added a button called 'Access your cruise planner' this takes you to another log in screen and then you get 'We're unable to complete your request, so please try again later.'.......
Leaving on Harmony next Saturday, called and was told, check back in a couple days. But on my e mail from RC pushing the bargains on cruise planner it got me to my reservation.

Hello,
We are getting ready to sail on Allure in June and we are getting cruise fever pretty bad. We have read all the Allure reviews in the past 20 pages or so (maybe 5) and tried searching for them with the search tool and getting all kinds of random threads when searching. If you have links to Allure reviews please share them! Thank you.
Just got back April 9 off Allure, best cruise ever, out of 15, RC, Carnival, and Norweigen.
-
I am on the Allure April 2. I had a balcony GTY. Got my room last Friday, Deck 6, oceanview extra large balcony. Happy with that.
-
The balcony is supposed to be an extra large balcony in the middle of the ship.
-
Any one have a picture of a large oceanview balcony on Allure. I want to hang a hammock if I can. Will be on Allure April 2.
-
Just got mine today for Allure April 2. 6592 Extra large ocean view. Happy for the upgrade.
-
Any suggestions for a hotel in Fort Lauderdale post cruise . We will be flying back two days later because of a cheaper flight, so it has to be cost effective. $730 leaving Sunday compared to $304 leaving tuesday. Well be in the Allure April 2. Also within walking distance of things to do.

Went on the Liberty in March. Had to book my air thru Carnival because I could not get a decent flight back on my own, spring break. They got me a flight arriving a l:50 PM. Was not happy. We were on the ship at 3:30. Getting back was another story. Got off the ship at 8:30, flight was sopposed to leave at 1:05 PM, thunderstorms, crew out of time. After hotels and 22 hours in airport we arrived in Pittsburgh Monday afternoon. We did have insurance and Carnival put us up in the Hilton in Miami. We are looking at the conquest and we found a flight in that lands at 1:30. Is that enough time to get bags, deplane, get on the ship and all, or should I get an earlier flight? Thanks.Sent from my iPhone using Forums mobile app

Was on the ship last month. The ship was the best decorated ship we have ever been on out of eightCarnivals. Great cruise, no cruise could be bad. However, missed the Jamacan band on the lido deck, DJ was way too loud, radio music, you can hear that in your car. We noticed the 2.0 downgrades. Food was ok, shows were ok. The burgers were outstanding. Band in the atrium was great.I rarely see any posts regarding the Liberty out of Port Canaveral. Any reason why?Does anyone have any good tips or comments to share?
We have a 4J sailing over Halloween.
Look forward to hearing from everyone!

You are right about the dining. I have been on eight Carnival cruises. Got off the Liberty a month ago. We really noticd the cutbacks. This ship was beautiful, but it had the 2.0 downgrades, Food, shows, ect. We still have not recieved a comment card online yet.I can't remember much. We tried to hang out in the "Not quite Serenity area" and I had my kindle. But, it was chilly, grey and overcast. We quickly lost interest and went inside where we did, I honestly can't remember. Hence why no daily pages. But, where I'm really going with this is food.
Let's talk about food.
The Lido deck food was "really" good. I remember a Guy's Burgers (good) a burrito bar (Angus and the girls liked it- I didn't eat there) with a salsa bar, a pizza place (really decent pizza open 24 hours) a deli, a tandoori grill (hit with Angus and the girls) a pasta bar, and the usual buffet line. You could seriously NOT be hungry for breakfast or lunch and the food was really pretty good. Which was a good thing. Because..
The formal dining room was freaking disgusting. :face: Seriously, I hated every single meal except for two. Of those, I "liked" one and one was OK. We make an effort on family trips to eat together in the dining room and this trip really tested my resolve on family meals because between the time spent, and the horrific food, it sort of sucked the will out of me every evening.
*In all fairness the rest of my family enjoyed the dining room more than I did and would say it was at least "ok" every night.*
We did not eat at any of the pay restaurants on this trip. We would have eaten at the upcharge steak house ( which is always very good) $35 pp- but couldn't get reservations. I waited too long.
There is a pay Italian restaurant $12 per adult or $7 per child but the menu didn't differ enough from the pasta bar to tempt me. There's a sushi place that looked good ( though I don't like sushi ) but I didn't hear great things about. A pay coffee and desert place that I never use, and a (free) BBQ on deck 5- I think daily that we never made it to.
Oh, and there's a free brunch on sea days in the dining room on sea days. I didn't go to that either.
How does the 125% FCC work?
in Royal Caribbean International

We cancelled last week before Royal cancelled. Supposed to leave on Symphony 3-21. I am wondering if we still fall in the 125% FCC.
