Thank you for posting these! We were on that cruise. I'm so thankful to get these pictures.

Thank you all for your input. tnbuilder64, so sorry your cruise ended that way. Ryoku, sounds like we would love a cove balcony. Bakersdozen12 had a cove on the port side. For whatever reason, seems the port side has a little better luck with no issues so I think we'll stick with a cove on the port side.

Thanks, Lonedaddy. Good advice.

Hank where is your favorite booze store? Do they stock a nice selection of wine? I'm sure I will need to restock by then!!

Looking to purchase some fragrances, but I'm wondering about prices compared to home. For example, a 4.2 oz Ralph Lauren Polo Black eau de toilette is $80 here. Anyone have any input on cost and the best place to buy? Just trying to get an idea before we get there. Thanks.

hhalliv, I booked the first of August of this year and was charged the $95. It would be nice if they did away with that. Have a wonderful time on your Transatlantic. We want to take the Panama Canal cruise one day.

What's important to me is to also look at deck plans and see what is on the decks above and below. I prefer other rooms above and below me. Just an additional thought ....
-
From another perspective - we sail using our DVC points. We've kinda grown tired of the parks for a while, so this is a way to use our points doing something we really enjoy. I can sail for a $95 booking fee, parking, gratuities, travel expenses and spending money. I must admit, if I was paying cash for everything, I wouldn't go with DCL. However, as others have said, DCL does it right.

Andreaplants, was the yoga simple enough for someone who has never tried yoga? And is there a charge? We're going on the Fantasy is 10 days, and I thought I would try it.

Thanks, codex57! Hope you have a marvelous time. We just love to cruise. Wish we could go more often than we do. Nothing like it!!

Ha. At first I was a bit unnerved. However, I have never been one to be controlled by others. We are about to do the single digit dance at our house. Can't wait. Really excited.

Well, I took care of the worry about the water temps today. I purchased a wet suit. I can snorkel with absolutely no worries. About to do the single digit dance around here!!
-
Yep. Going on with our plans. Can't let them control our lives.

Thank you for your post, ryoku. I've wondered about the cove balconies. How did you like yours?
-
Thanks, codex57, for another useful and applicable post. I have considered borrowing or purchasing a wet suit. And yes, Google vs. human answers are like comparing apples and oranges.

I love watching the pilot boat come along side the ship and the pilot "jumping" on the ship. We sailed the Elation this past July, and I saw this exchange three different times.

K2excursion, thank you for your response. You've made me feel much better. I can now book without worry.

Moki'smommy. That's excellent advice. We spent Christmas and New Year's at WDW one year. A cold front moved through with brisk winds, and we had lows on the upper 30s! We had to buy jackets.
-
Thank you, moki'smommy. That's good advice. CB at sea, we will stop back by Castaway, so it will probably be much cooler there. Ex techie, yes I know about Google that's where I got the climate info in the OP.
-
Thanks, OCruisers! It's our 34th Anniversary and the first trip DH and I have gone on just the two of us in almost 26 years. So .... We're pretty excited but I'm also a little nervous not having my kids with us - although they are 20 and 25.
-
Thanks for the replies. Slightlysilly and OCruisers, thank you for your good info. I guess I just need to add jeans, long sleeve t-shirts, and a couple of jackets to my packing list. That should cover it all.

We've never cruised in Dec. (only the summer months). Do I still pack mostly shorts and sleeveless tops?? The climate lists mid 80s to 60s. Is it going to be too cool to snorkel in St Thomas? Swim/lay out on the ship?
