We plan to sail on the Dream this summer. I keep reading posts regarding a sewage smell on this ship. I have read reviews/posts from both side - no smell to terrible smell. If anyone has first hand experience, I would appreciate your input. TIA.

Is there a Sarafina's (or any of the other places) on the Dutch side. We are not planning to go to Merigot.
-
We are not booking a port adventure here. We plan to get the water taxi tickets for the day and just relax. We want to see the Yoda Guy, the Guavaberry place and just people watch. Do any of you have favorite places you would suggest along the Boardwalk? Shopping for things like t-shirts and Christmas ornaments? We aren't interested in Maho or going to the French side. Thanks in advance for your input.

Oops. I hit "send" too early. It is the "Caribbean Sea Safari, Snorkeling and Beach Tour (ST46). We did have the Champaign catamaran to St John booked but it was going to leave us little time I port before the ship left. We wanted time to do a little shopping and perhaps go to Paradise Point. This is a shorter excursion but still some of the same things. However, if it's not any good, I don't want to waste my money. I have not found any reviews on it like the Champaign tour. TIA.

Thank you. I'm sorry. See if this is better.

Thanks purpletequila.

My parents are coming with me and my sister and my father is mobility disabled/can't walk much. I booked them with Bernards so they see the whole island without walking miles upon miles and when they return, they'll hit up a couple of shops. It's tough getting around to see the sites when someone can't fully walk freely.
Best of luck!
Hope they have a fantastic time! I'll look at Bernard's and see if my husband would like to do the tour. We are counting the days! It's for our 34th anniversary.

Purpletequila. A few free samples sounds wonderful!!!

Thanks, purpletequila. We will keep that in mind. Do you know where is the best place to buy the guava berry rum?
-
Thank you, OCruisers. We sail in 33 days. We can hardly wait!

We are going on a sailing, snorkeling excursion in St Thomas. My husband has had 8 back surges, so a lot of walking is not an option. We had thought about the beach at Great Bay, but I've read posts that it isn't clean.

My husband and I didn't find any excursions we were really interested in. We have decided to take the water taxi to town and go to the Yoda Guy. Visit for some guava berry rum and just relax and go back and forth to the ship for lunch. We are docked there for the day. Are there any must sees any of you would suggest? Thank you.

Has anyone taken this tour? We are currently booked to go, but just wondered if anyone had first-hand experience.

Thank you, moki'smommy, for your reply. I think, from what I have seen online, the water taxi is still $7. I was under the impression that the $7 per person was a day pass for as many times as anyone wants to ride it. Is that right? Thanks.

Thank you, Monty913, for taking the time to answer my question. It really sounds like an excursion we would enjoy. There are just so many to choose from. Some sound wonderful, but then the reviews aren't so good. We just want to make the most of our time in the ports. Asking folks who have already been there for advice was all I knew to do. Again, thank you for your nice post.

Moki'smommy thank you for all your help and kindness. I hope all is well for you and yours.
-
Thank you, moki'smommy, for your input. I probably won't post again. I appreciate your information.

You have made me feel very unwelcome.
-
I'm sorry, ex techie. I am new to the site. Moki'smommy made me feel very welcome and gave me some excellent advice. You, on the other hand, have made me feel very unwelcome and uncomfortable in asking any questions.
-
You are totally AWESOME!! Thank you so very much for all the useful info!! I think we will do the water taxi in St. Maarten. As for St Thomas, the cable car sounds great. Where does the cable car actually take us?
-
Thank you, moki'smommy! I hate to be such a bother, but I have so many questions. Can you tell me how I book the "water taxi" and about how much it costs. Also in St. Thomas, I saw the cable car ride info and the Coral World. How would I go about doing those on my own? As for shopping, I'm not buying jewelry or anything like that - just some t-shirts and little things. I went years ago and got hand carvings for a little of nothing. I teach with a lady that is all about Star Wars - I need to pick her up a little something.

Also, are there free beaches near the docks that we could visit after we shop. I need all the input you can give me. This is for our 34th anniversary, so that tells you we aren't "spring chickens" ha
Dream Problems?
in Carnival Cruise Lines
Posted
Thanks. I guess I've been lucky - never smelled a sewage smell and I've cruised 3 different lines, including Carnival. If you don't mind me asking, which floor were you on? I always take a room freshener spray to use in our room - even with a a veranda.
