  1. Thanks again for the review. Glad to hear muster went by quickly. I have a few more questions!

What time was muster? Did the ship leave the port on time? The Miracle is new to us. We sailed on the Paradise out of Tampa once. Really liked the port. Got to meet "Captain Carnival" who played music for us and kept us entertained while we waited to board. (The Paradise was late that day.)

  2. We sailed on the Paradise last year during Thanksgiving week.

My best advice for traveling with kiddos, is that when you dock in Grand Caymen, try to only take the tender boat to shore, once. We learned the hard way that it's not always a quick round trip back and forth to the ship. Our excursion in Sting Ray City was cancelled due to rough seas so we decided to take our snorkel gear back to the ship "real quick". It was not quick at all and we wasted an hour and a half doing that. That said, if you book an excursion anywhere, try to have a plan B in mind in case it gets cancelled. :)

As of today, Grand Caymen was the only place where I really liked the rum which is apparently specific to that location. The stores near the port do samplings of all different flavors. I regret not buying it because I haven't been able to locate that Tortuga Rum anywhere else on any cruise or in the states.

The ship is older and doesn't sport some of the upgraded features, but we had a wonderful time. The journey is what you make it. We had an excellent cabin steward and our wait staff was very accommodating despite one very boisterous and slightly obnoxious gentleman seated at our table. The only real downfall to our whole trip was the fact that we didn't leave the Tampa port until after dark due to a weather delay, but, we got to see the bridge that we sailed underneath all lit up at nighttime so that was pretty cool!

  3. Thank you for the review. Quick question for you, ScottsSweetie...

We ship out on the Conquest next week and have read about the Vista and Conquest missing the Amber Cove port. How long were you guys docked in Nassau? We're supposed to be in Amber Cove from 7-2 and are wondering if they change the port times if you go to a different port. :)

  4. Just wanted to chime in here because I had issues staying connected to Wi-Fi when we were on the Magic back in May. I went to Guest Services and they told me it was my Android but then my DH and several of our group members were having the same trouble. I've had good luck with it on the Breeze, the Paradise, and the Pride though so maybe it was just a fluke. I like to get the social media plan.

The Magic is a great ship. We met lots of nice people on her.

  5. I hear ya! Only 1 of the 3 roll calls that I am on, is semi-active. The other two are relatively silent right now. We're heading to Alaska next year and I am eager for people to start talking about everything from 'what to do and where to stay in Seattle if you're flying in early' to 'do I really need to pack mittens?' I'm trying not to be the one who replies to each and every thread that gets started, whether it's on these rolls calls or the other site... but it's so difficult because, like you, I wanna talk about it! :D

  6. I'm not a steak eater but I really enjoyed my meals at David's Steakhouse on the Pride. We booked it twice on one cruise. They took good care of us and made sure everything was to our liking.

That said, we haven't eaten at a steakhouse on a ship since that cruise which was our very first and we wanted to experience everything. We're pretty happy with the main dining room.

  7. I just got off the Magic this past Sunday. The cameras themselves are working fine (you can see them on your cabin TV) so for some reason the images are not being transmitted to the web address.

Good to know. The Magic cam was a really clear one. Not blurry like some of the older ones. :)

  8. Me too!! We are on the same cruise. Are you on that "other social media" page? There is a group for our sailing. Also, I grew up and lived most of my life in PA. Grew up in Allentown, lived in Pittsburgh for a while also. where are you from?

Hello! Yep, I'm Sandy on the site that shall not be named. We're from York! :D
