  1. Request to be in Emilia's area. They are all great wait staff but she is our favorite. If you get her tell her Katie & Mark say hi (we gave here a wall magnet with the Jewel on it a couple days ago at the end of our cruise, that might remind her of who you are talking about as they all work with so many passengers) My parents, DW and myself had dinner in Le Bistro on Friday night and she definitely impressed my parents (we were already impressed with her :D )

P.S. if you are torn on what dessert to try, ask her for one of each. My DW joked about it to her the first time we ate there and we weren't even in her station, lo and behold, that was what we got, one of each dessert. It was great :D

Thanks Mark, I will put in my request for Emilia when I talk to Shore Side and if that does not work then have the Concierge take care of it once we are aboard. :)

  2. The one consideration I just remembered from our past Inside Passage was the timing of going through the narrow north end. The tides are pretty extreme and tugs/log booms/barges have priority. I wonder if sailing out of Seattle at 4pm catches the slack tides or tug traffic at the wrong time versus leaving Vancouver at the same time.

It also looks like there will be no M&G as not enough people are signed up for the Jewel June 4th CC Roll Call.

  3. Are you planning on attending the Meet & Greet? I may see if we can private message on here (I'm not sure how that is done) and I can ask you if you can give my contact info to the person who I spoke to at the Meet & Greet.

Wife has a spa appointment around the time a Meet & Greet should be taking place. I plan on attending if a M&G has been set up but as of right now not 100% its a go.

I don't believe we can message each other on CC so I will provide my alternative email if you wish to provide me the info. Pretty sure there will be no straight answers given though. "Song & Dance" is standard practice in hope you will just accept their reply and move along.

  4. I agree that NCL needs to show the correct itinerary/sailing course on their website. From reading reviews I knew at the time I booked our June 4th cruise on the Jewel that it would actually be going on the west side of Vancouver Island instead of the Inside Passage. We have done the Inside Passage out of Vancouver and it was pretty amazing. Pretty sure there are a lot of upset people aboard the Jewel when they find out they are not doing the Inside Passage.

The Pearl shows the correct itinerary/sailing course.

As noted from the NCL website: "Itineraries are subject to change at any time without notice." That does not make it right but it relieves NCL of responsibility for changing their "stated" itinerary. I personally do not buy the story that the Jewel is too large to sail the Inside Passage. There are some pretty large cruise ships that sail out of Vancouver that all take the inside passage.

  5. Thank you for replying to my question. I think I have a pretty good idea what to expect with 9002. Still going to bug NCL about that H3 Upsell and hope one becomes available but time is running out quickly. Your stateroom looked amazing. :D

We do not have reservations for Le Bistro as my wife did not see anything on the menu that interested her. We do have reservations for Teppanyaki, Cagney's, La Cucina, and Moderno.

Next Saturday's weather looks decent for our departure and hope we hit a good patch during our time in Alaska. I've yet to do a whale excursion out of Juneau that had decent weather so that would really be a bonus for me.

I have two friends who are officers with HAL and another friend who is a retired HAL Hotel Director. We have been loyal HAL cruisers since 1996 with a Princess cruise thrown in along the way. This will be a precursor cruise for a planned extended family Panama Canal Cruise in the Fall of 2017. It has been well over 20yrs since we last cruised with NCL and the family members who want to put together the cruise will be celebrating their 50th wedding anniversary...and they love NCL.

  6. Thanks for the video. You mentioned prior to the cruise that you would also shoot a video of 9002. Did you happen to do that? I've been calling to try and get an Upsell for Deck 9 or 10 Owners Suite but nothing has opened up. :( Also, satisfied with the service the Butler provided along with the Room Steward and Concierge?

  7. Anyone with "insider" information know when the Panama Canal Fall 2017 schedule will be posted on the NCL website? Our PCC at NCL has no information and even admits that it seems later than usual not to be showing the schedule.

Princess now has their schedule available but like NCL, Holland America Line is also not showing.

  8. Hi....the open deck on the bow with the crew pool seen in the webcam would be deck 7...the two decks with railings are 9 and 10 penthouses with inside cabins on deck 8 in between...the guy on the balcony in your pic is on deck 9.....hope this helps.......:D

Paradise Sailor, Awesome and thank you. I think the guy in the pic is maybe in 9002 which will be our home in 18 days. Just hope it isn't a rainout like they are having today. :)

  9. Tracey, as you are now in a SF Suite, I would call the Concierge Department and at least book what/when you would like Spa Services. They do not have the prices but can at least forward your request to the shipboard Concierge. Once aboard then its just a matter of confirming with the Concierge that they took care of it.

I did that for my wife but as soon as we are on the ship I will check with the Concierge to confirm that the reservation was made. If not then we will head to the Spa and do the Concierge's job for him/her.

I knew ahead of time what treatment she would want and have a good idea what the cost will be.

  10. We have a chance to have him then. :D We will be in a deck 9 owners suite and my parents will be in the connecting forward penthouse. That is great that you have so much info on his schedule. :D So if my math is correct it will be his first week on deck 9.

This would be our first time having a repeat of a butler. So do you know if he will have all the deck 9 suites or just the front or just the back? Thanks for all your help. :D:D

Howdy Neighbor as we are from Marysville. Wife and I will be in 9002 two weeks after your cruise. Hope you post some photos of your view from your Penthouse although I don't think you have the same room.

This is our first time returning to NCL after a 20yr absence and cruising on Holland America and Princess during that time. Look forward to NCL as a precursor to a possible Panama Canal Cruise Fall 2017.
