  1. Just a heads up, as of 7/16 there has been a new price increase on supper premium brands. They now cost $16.95 per shot and are thus no longer fully included in the UBP. Also, many cocktail prices have also been adjusted to over $15. It used to be you had to search a bit to find drinks over $15, now the menu is full of them.

Thanks for posting the drinks menus! Do you by chance remember how much some of the ultra premium scotches cost? Asking for a friend ;)

  2. Champagne is from France and Prosecco is from Italy.

On our recent NCL cruise, one could purchase Prosecco by the glass,

however Champagne (much more expensive) was only available by the bottle.

IMHO, NCL would not want to open a bottle for you to have ONE glass, and no one would want to buy an expensive glass of Champagne not knowing if it was from yesterday's bottle.?

Don't worry, I would know if a glass of champagne was from a day-old bottle. And I wouldn't have any problem complaining I were to be served flat champagne. ;)

  3. I don't know what pier they are referring to, but the ferry arrives just a few feet from the dolphin programs, and the nearest beach is about 100 feet from the arrival area. Yes, you can walk further down the beach, or even to the back of the island, but it's not necessary.

I think they may mean the Pier where your ship arrives. Depending on which berth you take up, it can be a 1/2 mile walk to the port exit, where you'll pick up the Dolphin Encounter Ferry to Blue Lagoon

Thanks for the reply and to margincall (trader? ;)) for the original question. We have the same concerns as some in our party have similar mobility issues and such a long walk wouldn't be doable.

  4. I went to Balmoral. It was a nice enough beach, rocky in some spots. Not a lot to do there other than the beach unless you book the dolphin or stingray encounter which are small sections for each. There was one small gift shop and a couple of places to get a bite to eat. Balmoral is closer than Blue Lagoon, took about 20 mins or so to get there.

If I were to return to Nassau I'd probably check out Blue Lagoon to see the difference.

Thanks for the reply! Hope you had a great time on your cruise :)

  5. So to get the chance to bid on an upgrade, I must recieve an email from NCL first offering it??

Yes. If you haven't receive one, some folks had luck calling the upsell number and requesting the email.

Who knows, though, since I called the upsell number to see if they were still offering anything and was told my ship only offers the bid to upgrade option AND that my TA doesn't participate so I wouldn't be getting the email. That was weird since I'd already gotten the email offer days prior to that call.

  6. There are always cancellations and NCL usually has a few items for walk-up customers as well.

Do you know if NCL offers parasailing for walk-up customers throughout the day? We'd like to do that and the kayak tour but both technically start at the same time on the myncl shore excursion booking portal.

  7. Hi everyone!

Gearing up for our trip in a few weeks and wondered if anyone on an NCL cruise has done two "excursions" on Great Stirrup Cay. We're interested in both the kayak tour and the parasailing.

I normally would assume the answer to be no, but was hoping there'd be a chance since everything is taking place on GSC. However the only way this would even be possible is if NCL sends people up for parasailing throughout the day, so one could theoretically do it after the kayak tour. Thanks in adavabce for any feedback!

  8. Did you end up going to either beach? What were your thoughts?

Our group would like to do the dolphin encounter/swim and while the excursion at Blue Lagoon has so many great reviews, I've read there is an extremely long walk from where the tender docks to the beach and dolphin sanctuary. We have one in our party who might have issues with such a trek, so we're also considering Balmoral.

  9. Yep. Just purchased some extras/OBC on myncl.com and got the email from AMEX saying I completed the offer.

Sorry for the newbie question, but did you purchase and send the OBC to yourself on the Onboard Gifts page? I didn't see it under Explore & Plan for my reservation (unlike, say the Thermal Suite pass). TIA

And thanks to the thread starter for the heads-up on the Amex credit!
