  1. I just repriced mine, which I had repriced about a week ago, and the difference was only $8. It really depends on supply and demand at the time. I’d bet if you had checked a few days ago a majority of that $2,000increase had already happened. Pat yourself on the back for having gotten a good deal by booking early.

  2. If you join the roll call for your cruise, you may find that your fellow passengers have already set up private excursions that you can join (or of course, you could set one up and find others to join you using that same roll call). Generally speaking the privately set up excursions are significantly less cost than those offered by Celebrity, even with a 20% discount.

No arguments as to private excursions costs being less. I still bought them because I had over $900 in OBC to spend so they cost me nothing out of pocket.

  3. Revenue is what Celebrity are thinking. They will make a lot more money charging guests to launder garments than they would by providing coin op machines.

Not to mention having a couple of more staterooms to fill. Their decision to make. I had an electronics store and kept having people tell me I should open n Sunday’s. I was able to smile and tell them I did. Business just didn’t justify it. Could be same here, maybe they had tried and found it wasn’t worth it. It at least means we aren’t subjected to a bunch of “machine hog” posts.

  4. Want bad news, read forums on the Internet. Every little thing gets sooooo blown up and very few ever come to post about the good experiences they have. Not just cruises, either. We just completed our 2nd Celebrity Cruise and booked our third. We had cruised 3 other lines and seem to have found that Celebrity just fits us. I can't say I know enough about you to say if it would be a good fit for you or not. It is a great line if you prefer a more relaxed atmosphere with better food.

  5. Try this: talk to the people on your roll call. Find out if there are others who need internet access. Once on the ship, one of you will purchase an UNLIMITED internet package.

The people who want to use that package will pay an equal oart of the cost; and then be provided with the access code.

Cheaper to pay 10% of the cost than each person pay fell price....

I'm lucky , as one of my cabin perks is the unlimited package. Any of my travel companions is welcome to use mine, especially sine this is a perkless repo cruise we're going to be on.

We used to do the same things in the 1980s, with international calling cards....

    Just my $0.02....

Disregarding the ethics of this suggestion, whenever someone logs in with the code it would kick off anyone currently using it. The access can only have one session active.

  6. As long as they have creme brule...I will be very happy. I sometimes order two!!!

My favorites are the escargot, creme brule, and the burgers by the pool.

Creme Brule reminds me of my mother.

    She always burnt everything.

  7. Sandals with socks is becoming fashionable again. No kidding.

I wouldn't use the word "fashionable" personally. Wearing your pants down to the bottom of your butt was a trend but certainly not fashionable. Just my humble opinion.

  8. They're fine for insulin. I did, however, have a problem with them locking the refrigerator the last night of the cruise. They do so in order to close out bills but my insulin was still inside and I had to get them to unlock it. Just telling you to be aware of that.

  9. Alaskan cruise in May had a pretty low percentage in formal dress. I'd guess about 2% of the male passengers and more like 5-6% of the female passengers. Doing 10-day Caribbean in Feb and expect even less.

  10. The detour is every bit as good. We did the catamaran from Dawes glacier and found ourselves in practically a minefield of whales, saw a half dozen eagles hunting and fighting over food, and saw a seal being birthed. We also witnessed plenty of glacier calving.

    1.

Why bother to go on the cruise to be entertained by IT equipment? People can just sit on their couches and play games, watch videos or movies....

If the cruise lines are starting with that approach, will have to start to look at other types of vacation.

Why go for food, you can eat at home. Why go to bar hop, you can do that in your own town. Why go to play cards, you can invite others over and do that. The beauty of cruises is it affords many opportunities that appeal to a broad variety of people.
