    Cool Cruiser
  1. Not a problem. We did a transatlantic from Southhampton to Miami last fall on Celebrity and disembarced in Port Canaveral one day early as we live nearby in central Florida. About 500 out of 2,000 guests did the same. We received written athorization to do that at time of booking. No break on the fare, however. This was not a problem.
  2. We willbe sailing out of Tampa in April for the first time. Would apperciate comments about "official" parking option as well as off-site options.
  3. Thanks to all who replied. We are confirmed HAL cruisers but have been once before on a Celebrity t/a on the southern route. Hoping to take this one with English friends from Birmingham.
  4. Celebrity has an early November T/A from Southhampton to New York City on the northern route. Would appeciate any comments about possible weather concerns.
  5. Kudos to HAL for continuing their gluten free options in the MDR and Lido. My wife gets the MDR menu the night before and can order practically anything which will be prepared gluen free.
  6. We've taken 7 or 8 TA's and never been disappointed. Our longest was 23 days with lots of Med stops. Two weeks is about ideal. We've never had stormy Atlantic weather including our one northern route crossing. Most of our crossings were on HAL though we had no complaints with our one NCL and RCCL trips. Would be gland o answer any specific questions.
  7. Just got off "Westy" yesterday after a great cruise. We also were on Deck 8 but in the normal verandah cabins toward the front. Just great with no sounds from above. We were under the Spa.
  8. My wife and I were on the same cruise and agree complete ly with your comments. We too missed the escargot but also missed the Baked Alaska parade. The alternate baked alaska dessert was good but not asw good as gthe origijnal Q. We have sailed HAL over 130 days and have never been disappointed.
  9. Just left the Eurodam yesterday morning after a good cruise. Jealous that we can't continue on her for Europe.
  10. Some years ago my wife and I took a terrific submarine tour at St. Thomas off of Buck island, I think. I don't see such a tour listed on HAL's ship tours. Does anyone know if these tours are still being offered for St. Thomas, San Juan, or Grand Turk?
  11. We were also on the cruise (in an outside cabin down on Main Deck). It and the whole cruise was wonderful -- one of our best in the Caribbean.
  12. Thanks to all for your advice. We live near Cocoa Beach and will be driving to the Veendam the day before we sail for a reunion. We don't need anything fancy for a hotel/motel, nor does it need to be real close to the pier. A plus would be free, safe parking at the hotel for the 7 days but that isn't a must since it seems that parking at the pier is available but a little pricey. We are used to the cheap motels on I-95 heading north each summer but suppose that anything up to about $125 would work for us. Thanks again.
  13. We are sailing on the Veendam Nov 9 from Tampa. Suggestions for reasonably priced overnight accomodations in the area would be appreciated. The port site seems to list only hotels in the $200 and up category. Thanks
