  1. I think it was 7072- but it's probably the cleanest room on the ship now.

They changed all the linens, and scrubbed the grimy, discoloured grout in the shower.

Just check under the sheets and in the shower before you unpack.

We will be on the eclipse on March 6 th and it will be the first thing I do!

We enjoyed the cruise and ship after that problem was resolved!

    We are from Ontario.

  2. Besides asking for everything mentioned already, I check under the sheets to make sure the mattress pad and mattress are clean. We just for of the constellation and noticed in the first 5 minutes that the mattress pad was stained with blood and urine, heavily stained ,and also lots of hair on the surface! Disgusting .

Unacceptable. I also asked that the shower grout be scrubbed with bleach as it was grimy and discoloured.

  3. I was the one who posted this thread.

The supervisor came to see why I had a complaint ,and confirmed that the pad was filthy, stained, and unacceptable .

A report was made against to person who cleaned the room.

Check out the shower grout- very grimy and discoloured , even in the room that were given after I complained.

I had them scrub it with bleach.

Call me fussy, but I expect cleanliness.

  4. We just got off he ship a few days ago.

We were very impressed with the diners in Blu. The filet and lamb were melt in your mouth tender.the service efficient.

True- the Persian garden was very dark and has one bench that was heated.there are some showers with multiple jets.

  5. Just got off the ship this morning.

Mattress pad filthy- disgusting - urine and blood stains plus hair!unacceptable!the shower grout slimy and discoloured.

    We changed rooms

    Aqua class --great food.

    Very good entertainment .

All good once I was in a clean room.

  6. I guess it would be the stewards fault.?

They are in a rush and I presume they hope ,no one checks.

We winter in a high end beach resort and one day last year ,I decided to look under the sheets.

Same situation as described above, but it was the mattress.

It was replaced with a new one that day, after I brought it to the managements attention .

Now, I just look as soon as I enter any public place.

  7. You are absolutely right.

I also check for bed bugs.

The staff are in such a hurry to change over the rooms for the next passengers, that they don't clean well either.

I found a pair of glasses under the bed and the carpets and phone dirty.

There is an auto correct in my first post-- it's yellow not telly!

  8. Just got off the constellation.

Found the bathroom smelled. While waiting for someone to clean the grout and pour bleach down the drains,

I decided to look at the mattress pad.

    Disgusting!!

It was covered in dried blood and big telly urine stains and lots of dark hair!

I went down to speak to someone in authority to change rooms.

This was done immediately, even though they claimed they were full

Look under the sheets before you unpack

    Also check out the grout.

Then hopefully, you will sleep better.

  9. Totally agree about the likely hood of viruses circulating, when everyone is handling the utensils.

On our seabourn cruise 2 weeks ago, a man at our table blew his nose every 5 minutes with a cloth hanky.

I would not want to share anything he touched!

It's not my idea of fine dining.

  10. Food is subjective. I am not angry- we still had a great time and met wonderful people.

I am saying that we didn't get the "luxury" experience that we expected.

When you pay Ritz prices, you expect more- right?

Many on board said that the smaller seabourn ships were much better.

We found there are not as many choices on the dinner menus, as other ships.

The colonnade always had great choices and high quality food .

For us, the MDR was the problem.

We were always a table got 6, always went before 7:30 and never got out before 9:45.

    Very long waits between courses.

All this being said, the staff were very nice and tried to be helpful. The rooms great.the coffee machine on the square made excellent coffee.

As for the sewage smell--- no one likes that , and for 4 days !

Many said the crew were new and inexperienced.

As I said before, we loved: azamara, Oceania and celebrity is a great line .

  11. I have no reason to be way off the mark and have no axe to grind.

Our feeling is that we did not get the luxury cruise experience that we expected and paid a lot for.

I feel I can compare fairly with so many cruises behind me.

Why would 2 posters , who know nothing of each other, say the same thing? Because that's our opinion, like it or not.

  12. The chef on the 10 day Montreal to Boston cruise, which we just got off , was John Pugh.

He announced at a cooking demonstration ,that he was self taught and learned from his grandmother at an early age. He has no formal training

Honestly, the food was no better than RCCL, OR CELEBRITY.

WE have done 100 plus cruises,on many lines, and this was about the worst for service in the dining room. My water was never refilled unless I searched for someone and flagged them down. Mistakes made many times, orders forgotten.

We will not sail on seabourn again.

Also- the sewage smell was disgusting. It went on for at least 4 days, on the pool deck, the 10 th floor observation bar and many public areas.

Our best experiences have been on Azamara, Oceania, and celebrity. Some so these ships, half the price.

I am not surprised with the 4 *rating.

So many I talked to said they only sailed seabourn because it is what they like and met all their needs. They don't know what they are missing!

  13. We are off the Quest this morning. We will not sail on seabourn again- having done over 100 cruises on other lines- we were not impressed at all with seabourn.

There was a string sewage smell for 5 days.

Flowers in the dining room for 4-5 days then nothing for the rest of the cruise.

Food warm , waiters disorganized and often got orders mixed up.

We were very disappointed in the overall experience.

  14. I am still on board- only day 3.

The chef is John Pugh. A few of us shopped with him at a local market in Quebec City.

He told us that he was self taught, and learned a lot from his grandmother.

The food service was much better tonight and the main course was hot.

We were asked many times if everything was ok.

The MDR was also less busy/ crowded.

  15. We are on the quest now and I was hoping to say WOW- this is great but I am saying WOW- disappointing!

Having done 8 Oceania cruises and over 100 other cruises- the food on the quest is a let down.

Embarkation in the terminal- nothing! No water/ coffee / cookies

Dinner the first night- no flowers in the table-

Within minutes of getting the menus we are asked to order.

Haven't had a chance to greet our table mates.

    Good lukewarm and bland.

Second dinner- rushed again to get out order.

We asked that the food be hot.

    The consommé again lukewarm!

    It was sent back.

It then took 1.5 hours to get our main course. It was hot at least.

    Unacceptable!

Our table mates who had cruised once with seabourn said that this trip was a big let down from the previous.

We are meeting with the hotel director today- hope things improve!

Don't think we will sail on seabourn again.

Oceania is much better in our opinion

  16. Thanks. We have cruised a lot and some lines offer complimentary pressing for a few articles of clothing. Was just wondering.

The steam shower is a good option.

As far as montreal( we now live in Ontario) visit Notre Dame cathedral( modelled after the Vatican . Also the Sailors church in old Montreal dedicated to Marguerite Bourgeois.

Take a caleche( horse drawn carriage) or city tour.

Gibbys restaurant in old Montreal is fabulous ,( especially steak and their salad). Specialty coffees( flambeed table side is fun)and in a historic stone building.

Breakfast or lunch- old Montreal at la Villette.

Dinner experience like being in France at Bonaparte .

    Shopping street- St Catherine street

    Eileen

  17. We will be on the sept.21st sailing from Montreal to Boston.

having lived in Montreal for over 50 years, we are doing this itinerary that was always on our list, as well as trying this luxury line.

Are there complimentary ironing services for formal/ dressy wear, that will get crushed from being in the suitcase.?

I believe there are laundry rooms on the ship as well for passenger use.

    thanks.

  18. I believe you are referring to shell beach.

It's a bit if a walk, especially if its really hot.

There is a very expensive beach restaurant . We had a small cafe au lait for 5euro.

There is no shade there at all .

We wear water shoes as there is barely any sand there- it's all shells.

We have rented a car many times and driven to all the other beaches. Taxis are expensive as is everything else there.
