  1. You have all been tremendously helpful. I have found a biodegradable container online that is much smaller and lighter, which says that it comes with TSA packaging. It's also helpful to know that we have the Post Office option too, although my preference is going to be to keep him with us on our flight(s).

I really appreciate your help to solve my problem. Thank you so much!

Glad you found a new option.

I'll third the post office if you do need to ship. We mailed my FIL's ashes to Norfolk per Navy instructions without any issues.

  2. Luggage tags!!

Last cruise DH's color tag had come off during debarkation, and they put it with the rest of the unidentified bags. Because he didn't have a luggage tag on the bag, they didn't want to give it to him when he finally found it - they wanted proof it was his bag first (I thought that was odd since the color tag pick up is kind of an unmanned free for all anyway). We usually have copies of our passport id page in our luggage, but for some reason this bag didn't get it's copy before we left. They finally gave his bag to him when he realized he had torn off an old airline luggage tag with his name on it and stuffed it in the side pocket. All our bags have those plastic tags now just in case.

If it has a hard place anywhere on the suitcase - I stick return address labels on it - normally ends up in the indent under the handle. Or one of DH's business cards in a few pockets if it is a duffel bag.

Noise machine /travel alarm clock--we are used to sleeping with the "white noise"... Magellan's has a nice "Sound Oasis" one, great for background noise and alarm. We also carry a light weight digital luggage scale..no more over 50 lbs.

    !

iOS and Android have apps that work pretty well.

Pre printed address labels for postcards - just write out - stick- stamp - mail

Mini pharmacy including powdered Gatorade G2 (lower sugar ones) packets - not so much in the Caribbean - but trying to find something if you get ill in some countries can be a challenge.

Mini health history - allergies, medications (brand name and generic& dosage, for me copy of my latest blood work. latest status report from my doc, and the hospital at home's emergency contact info for my doc. Just goes in the folder with the rest of the paperwork for the trip

  3. No,not on a shore excursion. We were directed to the buses when we were walking toward the street. I understand that the buses cost Celebrity $17000. People in the Carnival line were quite angry when we saw them on our return. They were left completely on their own.

The people in the Carnival line weren't happy when we were there either, their line snaked out of the fence and into the parking lot area. NCL wasn't much better.

  4. Which of these extras were for Select members also? Thanks.

I'm not exactly sure if this is everything

    25% off an internet package

    pressing of 2 items

    priority embarkation

I'm not sure what the coupons are for onboard.

  5. Ti-Ann is wonderful, your comment about her is on the mark. My waiter was reserved and efficient. We also needed to dock at Far Bay, but the transportation to Georgetwon was provided by Celebrity at no charge. Wonderful cruise!

Lucky, we got stuck with the taxis. Were you on a shore excursion?

  6. We just got off the ship this morning. Ti-Ann is the current hostess she was wonderful. She made a major effort to get to know everyone and make sure everything was going well with the cruise.

Our wait staff was very good.

    1st sea day

Double jackpot at sea not sure what this was - we didn't go

    Lunch

    Chardonnay Blending Seminar

    Bridge tour

Michael's club *morning & evening - the drinks were on the heavy side.

We were invited to dine with the Staff Captain for dinner. (The staff captain & the captain trade off hosting each cruise - I believe the captain was signing off after this cruise and a new one was coming on) Several others had late dinner w/ the hotel director.

Grand Cayman - priority tender tickets - due to weather we ended up in the far bay - $5pp taxi ride each way to get to Georgetown.

    2nd sea day

    backstage tour of the theatre

    elegant tea

    Last morning

    Private departure lounge

    - this morning was one of the smoothest disembarkations we've had.

A discount for booking a Galapagos trip.

Spa- you get a 10% off coupon and a pass for the Persian garden for one port day.

Free dry cleaning of one item (we sent our things out the first day and had them back for formal night the next night)

90 min internet package - if you give them the coupon the first day (at least on our sailing) they were running an 15% more special if you purchased a package. They gave us the extra, even with the coupon. Not sure if this was normal. We didn't go through the entire time anyway. The computer attendants tend to hover - but I think they are used to guests that are less than comfortable with computers.

  7. I am 35 and tempted to try one more time, but can't stand another penis in my house (peeing on my floor, eating all the food, being loud and leaving messes everywhere)-3 men is enough, I am already outnumbered and alone:eek: My younger son is only 16 months, so I start to consider one more try, then I become afraid and go shopping for myself instead.:D

But having a daughter to shop for and dress up would be so much fun-I am such a "girly-girl" stuck in a house full of sticky boys!!

As my FMIL (she had 4 boys) says she sometimes wishes she'd had girls to raise, but they would more expensive to deal with now she just gets great DILs all the fun without the work.

Though as to which is easier to raise... that is a toss up both have their bad points. My best friend is one of 7, 5 girls and 2 boys....Her parents say both can be a real pain.

  8. I rember overhearing a conversation that my mother was having with my grandmother when I was a teen. She was quite complimentary of my father in the martial relations portion of their relationship. I made a gagging noise and got, "well it serves you right big ears". I wash shocked! I was adopted and just told myself that my parents never did *that*.

I want a girl. I want one bad. I have four boys. When the ultrasound tech told me poor little JJ (number 4) was a boy I cried. Now? I am so happy I have my little man. I will not, however, be trying again for a girl!

Steven (6 year old) recently told me that when he grows up his first child will be a girl, for his Mom! Hope his wife agrees :)

    LOL

These two posts remind me soo much of my grandparents. Grandparents had 4 girls and 1 boy. A while ago my aunts, mom, and gran were talking about marital relations, 1st child's birthdates in relation to wedding dates, and some cousin having done something that gran didn't approve of. No subject is off limits with this family. My gran (who is close to 90 years old and in the time she grew up in these things weren't discussed) was trying to claim that she had only had relations with her husband 4 times and that this was only done to produce children. I couldn't resist and asked her who the father of her 5th kid was and which one had a different father? If this had something to do with them finally having a boy after 4 girls. My gran yelled at me (meanwhile everyone else was laughing) that I was too young to know anything about that (I was 20 at the time and Biotech major)
