  1. I sailed on Liberty is January and on a 4 night cruise (with the first dinner being at Diamonds Steakhouse which was excellent), the other 3 dinners were in the MDR. One dinner was good (Prime Rib on Elegant Night), one was OK, the final one was not to my satisfaction. Avoid the Caribbean Pepper Steak entree, if it is still offered,

    with its tough, grisly beef.

Otherwise, my cruise was quite enjoyable.

Can you (or anyone else here) confirm whether or not Diamonds Steakhouse has the NEW menu with the Wagyu steak, Smoke & Ice oysters and Art at Your Table?

  2. We are looking at Spring Break 2019 cruises, and are in between the Breeze and Adventure of the Seas. The Breeze goes to Amber Cove, Grand Turk, San Juan, and St. Thomas, while the Adventure goes to Cozumel, Costa Maya, Grand Cayman, and Falmouth. We are a family of 4 with two teens, and will have to fly to either one. Prices are very similar. What should we choose and why?

Breeze - Eastern Caribbean would be my choice.

  3. And what's this favoritism toward Godmothers sponsoring ships? Shouldn't there also be Godfathers involved, too?

"Gotta tell ya, bub. Don't cut in line at the buffet, and don't hog chairs on the Lido Deck....OR ELSE!" :D

  4. We are sailing on Liberty this May on a 4 day. We are going to Nassau and Princess Cay. Does the 3 day go to Princess Cay and if so, thoughts? Thx!

I’ll be on Liberty for the 4-day May 13th sailing with my Mom, daughter, my BFF and her daughter. I’ve been to Nassau a few times but this will be my first visit to Princess Cay. I thought about renting a bungalow but decided against it for several reasons. Can’t wait to check out the island! [emoji41]

  5. I've sailed Victory twice (Aug 2016 and Nov 2017) and loved the ship, no complaints whatsoever. There was some yellow caution/construction tape around a small area of the main lido pool deck that they were repairing, but that didn't phase me one bit. And it did not cause the pool or hot tubs to be closed at anytime. Had a great time on both cruises! I especially love the decor on Victory!!

  6. I LOVE the Skyway Bridge, such a beautiful structure. Even the original cantilever bridge was a sight to behold, let alone drive/ride over! I grew up in the Tampa Bay area in 1970s/1980s, moved away for many years and then moved back in 2001. I remember the original bridge disaster in May of 1980, such a tragedy. The north and south portions of the old bridge are now fishing piers that we visit often. The debris from the old central span was used as artificial reefs. Even though I live only 40 minutes from Channelside, I've yet to sail from Tampa. But that will change since hubby and I just booked the Paradise for Oct of this year. Can't wait to experience sailing under the Skyway! If it interferes with dinner time, then dinner will have to wait! A good reason to choose Your Time Dining (of course there's always Lido or room service!) LOL

  7. Our 9/11 Victory 4-day (KW/Coz) was changed to 9/12 3-day Freeport/Nassau. Then ultimately cancelled. We opted to re-book for 11/17 3-day Victory Nassau/overnight to celebrate my 50th b-day. Looking forward to a nice long weekend getaway!!

  8. This may or may not be a price factor, but.......

2.0 upgrades were added to Sensation during last dry dock (Guys, Blue Iggy, RF Rum/BI Tequila Bars, Cherry on Top, Hasbro, Playlist, WaterWorks). Victory did not receive any of these in its last dry dock. While Victory does have Seafood Shack, SkyBox and Dive-In Movies, which Sensation lacks, I feel the 2.0 stuff is what really "sells" to a lot of folks and therefore, holds more value in Carnival's eyes. By the way, both have Alchemy Bar now. :D

I was on Sensation in 2014 before any of the 2.0 things were added and LOVED the ship (I've actually had better cruising experiences on Fantasy class ships so far, especially crew/service and Serenity location). That said, I was on Victory Aug 2016 and will be sailing her again 11/17, so I obviously love her as well! :)

    Happy Sailing!

  9. We loved the Victory for a short get-away. We did however find that it definitely had a have fun party atmosphere. We had one of the L-shaped balconies for the first time and fell in love with it. The room was smaller, but the balcony twice as long with a full lounger in addition to the two chairs. Plus, because of the long hallway as you enter the room, the cabin seems more quiet to us. Otherwise, she is just a standard Carnival ship - not all the bells and whistles but still a fun time.

We are booked in cabin 6459 on Victory sailing 09/11/2017. We had our first "L-shaped" balcony on Splendor last Oct (cabin 7434). LOVE these cabins!!!

  10. It was a very cool open atmosphere on the inside with someone playing the piano up front.

We had to get what they were known for so we got a Sloppy Rita and Sloppy Fries. We shared both and the sloppy fries were definitely a good amount. It was something fun to say we have done but can't say it would be an every stop kind of place.

We then walked over to Capt. Tony's Saloon. This was the original bar for sloppy joe's and they raised his rent. He moved everything to the new location in one night. He had his customers carry chairs and tables for free beer and they never had to close.

The inside of this bar was covered in license plates and money.

Loved Captain Tony's! We were there in Jan 2016 (Ecstasy). Thanks so much for the review, I'm really enjoying it. Looks like you guys had a great time. And happy anniversary!
